We can provide a firepit to borrow and you can purchase logs onsite so you can stargaze and chatter around the fire - back to nature!
We are based just outside the pretty hamlet of Martinhoe in North Devon, a stone's throw from the SW Coast Path.
There is a historic Roman Beacon closeby and plenty of wildlife around, we'd be surprised if you didn't see deer in the neighbouring fields!
There is a compost loo and a water point, but no electricity / wifi - delightfully off-grid.
Situated on an organic working farm this is the perfect place to escape!

We loved our stay at smugglers cove! The pitch is very well maintained with stunning views. It’s so peaceful and the fire pit was great in the evening. Facilities are clean and well kept, lovely to have warm water for washing up. We can’t wait to come and stay again in the spring/summer. We loved it!

I loved the Boy John. There was so much attention to detail in everything on board. Very comfortable bed and plenty of lighting. Also clear instructions around the site, regarding water, showers, toilets etc. All facilities very clean. Nothing compares to having your own little bit of coastline !!

Thank you for another wonderful weekend. A peaceful time spent camping in amongst the apple trees with delicious cider available in the cosy tasting room. Board games to play, Apple cake to munch and clean toilets and showers with plenty of hot water. Lovely family running the show as well. Perfect.

The cider farm is incredibly beautiful and peaceful! If you are looking for a quiet and serene retreat this is the place to go :) The cider itself is so good and would highly recommend ‘hunny bubble’

Amazing stay with beautiful views. The tent is equipped with everything you need and beds are comfortable.
The environment is very calm and pizza night really is a success, not only the pizza's are very nice but you get to know the other people staying - amazing if you have kids as they start playing together.
We had an amazing time and would definitely return and recommend the stay.

Lovely site, 3 open fields to just choose your spot. Eco loos and 2 bathrooms, had to wait a few minutes at times but not an issue. Great cafe on site with very friendly staff. We walked along the old tram line and the river walk into Wareham which was beautiful and it’s an easy 15 minute walk to the pub for dinner. Will definitely be back next August 😊

Absolutely loved camping at The Old Airfield. Very friendly staff and helpful. Loads of space to park up and tent so you'll never feel 'on top' of other campers. Lovely vibe, clean showers and toilets.
Had a nice bar and pizza trailer on site too to order from every night.
Very relaxing and loads of free roaming animals near by! Definitely will be coming back!

This campsite introduced me to 'quiet camping' - I was concerned that it could be 'too quiet' for my daughter, but the barn (which is fully equipped with games, tables/chairs, and a little shop/bar) provides a central place where everyone congregates throughout the day. Totally geared up for peace and quiet, being out in nature, yet some dedicated features not typically associated with camping (compost loo, fire pit, picnic table and water tap for each pitch was a dream!).
And the hosts were friendly, full of fascinating facts and good conversation.
Would highly recommend, I'm looking forward to heading back next year.
