Off the beaten track on top of the Mendips in an area of outstanding natural beauty. A mixture of four acres of wild woodland, orchard and field set on a hillside. Our Yurt is set up in the trees giving you peaceful seclusion and a clear view across the sea to Wales and the mountains of the Brecon Beacons. A huge range of activities are possible or you can lie in the hammock with a good book. We have very friendly dogs and rescue chickens who may come and visit. Wild deer wander past in the early morning mist and the odd buzzard picks an argument with a bunch of crows but nothing much else should disturb you. We moved here after an 18 month search 8 years ago. It was close to everything we wanted and we've spent some time getting a bit closer.

I had a lovely stay, Despite visiting in October, the Shepard’s hut kept me nice and warm. The hut was as pictured and described. There were lots of lovely nearby walks. The Shepard’s hut was very accommodating for the dogs too who enjoyed their stay and use of the field. Thank you.

This is a place to feel connected to the land and to completely let go of all the pressures of modern living. Jan is passionate about bio diversity and I loved walking up to the yurt, brushing past lavender and sage and wild flowers full of bees and butterflies, picking an apple on the way - and having it for breakfast whilst looking over a most glorious sunrise view from Buzzard Yurt. Then a walk in the woods and chilling in the hammock reading and soaking up the birdsong and the sound of the buzzard up above. At night - lying on the deck looking up at a starry sky and sitting round the fire toasting marshmallows. A truly relaxing and healing few days. Thank you Jan.

Wow, wow, wow.
So we had a fantastic time at Kingfisher Yurt, relaxing under the Oak and Ash trees. Swimming pond was perfect.
Yurt was really comfortable and the kitchen was fab for dining and playing games, We hired the hot tub, which was also lovely.
Jan was a perfect host. We shall be back.

I recently stayed at Dorothy and it was everything I didn’t know I needed. From the moment I arrived, I felt wrapped in peace; the kind that quiets the mind and nourishes the soul. The setting is serene, tucked away from the buzz of everyday life, and offers a rare kind of stillness that invites you to truly breathe.
The hut itself is beautifully designed; cosy, clean, and full of thoughtful touches that make you feel instantly at home. Waking up to birdsong, sipping tea with views of open fields, and falling asleep under a sky full of stars, it was a gentle reset for my mind, body, and spirit.

We loved our stay at Buzzard Yurt! Jan was super friendly and helpful, and the kids loved the trampoline, the pond, the hot tub, feeding the chickens, picking the eggs and just everything the lovely campsite had to offer. It was such a good break from the bustle of city life and we cannot wait to return. The night skies were delightful with a sky full of stars and hardly any light pollution anywhere near us, and our days were filled with adventure and nature at the camp. Jan's campsite is conveniently located to lots of lovely sights - Beer, Seaton, Lyme Regis. A perfect break!

Stayed at Dorothy and it was the perfect stay especially as we were celebrating my boyfriends birthday. We were lucky enough to have the whole area to ourselves, and the weather was beautiful. We loved the peacefulness and hearing the church bells in the distance was and added bonus. The bed was very comfortable and we adored the shepherd's hut and loved that every little detail was thought off even the spare phone chargers. Pub was a lovely surprise just how close it was and the food was exceptional

We spent a lovely relaxing weekend at Martha with our old pooch and we loved it. We did alot of laying about on the grass and listening to the abundance of birds. The barn owl hunting every evening in the field was a first for us and very special. The hut was kitted out nicely and felt comfortable. It's very cosy. We really enjoyed our time there and felt revived by the serene atmosphere.
