Weekend Trip to The Nut Plat Retreat
The cabin was homely, warm and comfy. Plenty of logs provided for the burner. The hot tub is surrounded by trees and when the stars come out a lovely place to wallow. Nice country pub on doorstep. Would recommend.

Weekend Trip to The Nut Plat Retreat
Highly recommend, my partner and I had a great time at Finlay’s cabin. It was exactly what we were looking for in terms of: how remote & private it was, outdoor and indoor fire & the hot tub! We also loved the unique structure and authentic feel… however a few things to note, for the cost per night(£180) I would expect: body wash & shampoo / hairdryer, better kitchen essentials, the coffee left was almost empty for example and old stuff was left in the fridge& top shelf was left completely wet.. I know it’s ‘small’ things but for the price you’d expect these things to be attended to.. for us we didn’t mind too much, but would have made the experience a lot nicer to have these things to improve the overall feel and experience. Also I felt that in terms of cleanliness, it could have been cleaner, many cobwebs & spiders, hair and dirt in the bath tub, messy outdoor porch area; we wanted to use the outdoor bbq and had to clean it very well ourselves.. for the price you would expect it to be clean and ready to use with coals etc however we had to make do with the indoor logs with no fire starter as only option was the chemical indoor one which we didn’t want to use to cook food on.. making it difficult. The hotub area is lovely, however we wanted to use it at night which proved difficult as no outdoor lightning, and indoor torch didn’t work.. some lanterns outside would be a great addition. Duncan was a kind host and has a very special plot!

3 nights at The Nut Plat Retreat
Such a beautiful spot, we took Ransoms for 3 nights. Everything we needed was ready for us, nice kitchen and a lovely hot tub. The host is very friendly and helpful. Don’t miss out on The Kentish Rifleman’s Pie and a Pint on Tuesdays and walks through Plaxtol, Igtham moat, and the green fields.

I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough it’s so gorgeous and secluded. The pitch areas are very well spaced out. Jay is also extremely lovely and helpful! The amenities are well maintained and easy to find all over the area. I will absolutely be returning again.

Site was great, bare minimum and eco-friendly which we loved. Unfortunately weather got the best of us and we left a day early since it was only our first time camping.
Saw lots of Pheasants and heard them running outside our tent in the morning which was wonderful, host was great and incredibly helpful too.

What an amazing spot in nature! This was an incredible getaway, such a quiet and natural space with birds, surrounded by trees and the very nearby woodlands which are covered in mushrooms, more than we could count! It was so peaceful, we loved the natural space and eco-friendly touches. We definitely want to return again! It was magical!

Really great site. Managed really well. Amazing spot in the woods and plenty of space between yourself and other campers.
Firepits are provided and you can buy wood for fires if you need.
There are some great walks nearby and plenty of stargazing!
Would really recommend this site. Had a really wonderful weekend here.
(There is a closing time of 7pm which is to be aware of and not being able to enter after that point so just something to be aware if traffic or travelling far after work.)
The toilets, eco and flushing, were really good. Didn't use the showers so cant say!

Quiet, sheltered and peaceful spot. Great location for using as a base to explore North Hampshire villages and walking trails. Was lovely in The Clearing - so much so we stayed on for an extra night! Facilities are rustic/simple (head torch needed to use the toilets day and night!) but they do the job as long as you’re prepared to get back to basics!

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ An Unforgettable Woodland Escape
We recently stayed at Woodlands Campsite in Ropley, Hampshire, and I honestly can’t recommend it highly enough. We camped in the woodland area and it was absolutely magical — quiet, peaceful, and surrounded by nature. It truly felt like stepping away from the world and into our own little sanctuary.
This was, without a doubt, the most peaceful holiday I’ve ever had in a tent. The site is beautifully maintained and so thoughtfully designed, with plenty of facilities to make camping not only comfortable but thoroughly enjoyable. Everything you might need is there — clean showers, well-kept toilets, washing-up areas, and plenty of little touches that make a big difference when you’re outdoors.
Jay was friendly and welcoming, and you can tell he genuinely cares about keeping the site safe, clean, and relaxing for everyone. Whether you’re new to camping or a seasoned camper, this place ticks every box.
If you’re looking for a camping spot where you can truly unwind, listen to the birds, enjoy the fresh air, and still have the comfort of excellent facilities, Woodlands Campsite is the perfect choice. We left feeling refreshed, happy, and already planning our next trip back.

2 nights at The Nut Plat Retreat
The Nut Plat retreat is great. We had a lovely time at the Bomford. Perfect relaxing break. Duncan is very nice and helpful. Bed is comfortable, shower is hot, there is everything you need. The Rifleman pub is a stones throw from the nuthatch, but unfortunately it was fully booked on Thursday, so it is worth to book a table in advance . Wood fired hot tub is a nice touch. Just have to be patient with it. Follow Duncan's instructions and you will get it very hot in less than two hours. Fire pit and all the trees around are lush. Even though you have neighbours around 100 meters away, it feels very private. Would definitely go back.

We loved our time at Teddy’s Farm. It has big, spacious fields and good facilities. There was a coffee/ cocktail bar, a pizza place that cooked fresh, good priced pizza on the spot and a breakfast van. Teddy was very friendly and helpful. He was accommodating even though we pitched up in the wrong place accidentally. The kids loved it. On the first field it can get a bit dusty when cars drive by, but the big field at the back of the farm isn't affected by this. There are lots of great trails and forest walks nearby, short drive away is the Tall Trees Trail which is beautiful. You can also walk to the forest from the farm if you don’t want to drive. Thank you, Teddy!

We had a wonderful time here, we stayed in the clearing which was really chilled and idilic. Listening to the sounds of owls calling at night and watching the stars was magical. Jay was really friendly and helpful and the facilities were all we needed. Shower was hot, loos were always clean no matter what time of day or night, washing up areas and drinking water - perfect. More perfect still, no wifi! Great walks and areas to explore, such a relaxing weekend and already working out when we can go back.
