The Shepherd's Hut at Coombe Farm Glamping is only an hour or so from London and within easy reach of Goodwood, Cowdray and the south coast; yet once you're here, you'll feel as if you've stepped through the back of the wardrobe and into the ancient woodland that surrounds, unimpeded views towards the South Downs and barely another soul around. The hut stands alone in the field, so you will exclusively enjoy the tranquility the land has to offer.
The Hut is equipped with fresh linen and towels, made extra cozy and warm with a beautiful flame and clean burning bio ethanol burner which creates a relaxed ambience, providing amazing heat for the chillier season stay.
The wash area is compact with everything you will need for alfresco catering and dining, including a great camp compressor fridge. We also provide equipment to cook on the ample fire pit for an authentic camp experience. We have a revitalizing, hot and spacious shower, all run from our off grid system. We also provide luxury toiletries.
Our loo is composting, extremely clean and freshly set up for every new guest and in keeping with our off grid, low-fi ethos.
Our family farm, Durleigh Marsh Farm is in Rogate, 5 min drive from Rake or about an hours walk through the woodland south from the hut. The popular Tea room offers a great breakfast and lunch menu. Booking is advisable.
Between the nearby traditional market towns of Petersfield and Haslemere you will discover a diverse choice of places to shop, dine and drink.
The site is encompassed by beautiful walks and trails taking you further into the heart of the South Downs.

A beautiful location and lovely shepherds hut. Very private and romantic. I particularly loved the outdoor kitchen and sitting by the fire bit in the evening. Lovely walks through woodlands easy to get to with no need to drive.

Weekend Trip to Abberton Shepherds Hut
Lovely little weekend stay in this beautiful hut kitted with everything you would need. So peaceful, we loved waking up to the farm views and having a warm coffee in the cosy bed with the fire on ❤️☺️
There's lots of warm pubs with great food an easy walk away, a shop just 4 mins drink and loads to do nearby if you'd like to venture further.

We had a really lovely stay in the Bustard Hut. It was peaceful, quaint, and beautifully designed. The interior was unique and thoughtfully put together, and the hut had great facilities considering its limited kitchen space.
The little touches like the marshmallows, bread, and condiments were very much appreciated.
The only downsides were that the hut wasn’t quite as private as it appeared in the pictures, as we could see and be seen by the neighbouring hut from the hot tub, which wasn’t quite what we imagined. Also, there weren’t any trolleys available on arrival, so there was a lot of back and forth with bags since you can’t park next to the hut.
A few things that would be useful to have are some barbecue tools and maybe a fire mitt, as we had to use kitchen utensils to manage the fire. Overall, we had a lovely stay and really enjoyed the thoughtful touches throughout.

Weekend Trip to Abberton Shepherds Hut
This was a fabulous shepherds hut with every need catered for. The craftsmanship is beautiful and all the equipment and amenities were first class. Beautifully decorated and all the local and interesting information was carefully provided in an easy to access folder. The location is absolutely stunning with lots of outdoor equipment such as seating and bbq and a pizza oven to enjoy in the hot weather. The view is stunning and the surrounding countryside has great walks and places of interest. We will hopefully return.

Catriona’s shepherds hut is a truly brilliant glamping find!
I took my six year old daughter for a two-night stay and we loved it. The hut is so cleverly designed, with everything you need. It was warm and cosy, and the beds were so comfortable.
The enclosed garden is great for children, and the visits from beautiful Evie the collie dog were a highlight. We ordered a breakfast hamper too which was excellent.
We did a couple of day trips - Eastnor Castle and Warwick Castle. Both very good spots with lots going on for children.
My daughter and I loved our adventure - we even had a visit from the tooth fairy while we there! :-)
Thank you Catriona for such a lovely stay. We can’t wait to return. Highly recommend!

The Shepherd’s Hut is tucked away in a field off a single track road. We loved having the field to ourselves and not having to worry whether our music was too loud. There is room in the hut for two adults and two children - one in a bunk bed and one in a Z bed. It was very cosy! We enjoyed spending time outside walking in the woods and sitting around the fire pit in the evening. We had a lovely meal in The Flying Bull pub which was only 10 minutes walk away. Alice was always quick to respond to my messages and I was very grateful when she posted items back to me which I left behind.

We came for a family birthday getaway at the end of Feb. The hut is private but there is a two person hut reasonably nearby. The Shephards hut has everything you need outside and in, regardless of weather. We had moments eating out in the sun, then a brief hail shower and rainbow in the hot tub. One night was so clear we spent the evening star gazing from the hot tub. There is a farm and wild bird sanctuary nearby so an abundance of wild life throughout the day. Kites, peacocks, buzzards, peasants, deer etc. We did several local walks but the best for the kids was the farm > wood walk, which had a hidden wood swing too. The hosts were quick to help when we needed it and the location was very picturesque. It was a perfect birthday escape. We'd love to come back and see it in the summer!

Weekend Trip to Romantic Country Glamping
Fantastic shepherd's hut. The location was reachable by public transport and walking (train to Trowbridge, X34 bus to Southwick Post Office, 15 min walk) so car isn't essential. The indoor heater made a huge difference, and the provided cake, bread, eggs, jam etc. were amazing and very generous. In reach of some good walks too. Would definitely plan to come here again, really loved it.

We had a wonderful stay in the beautiful Lapwing Hut. The hut was cosy, clean and well heated so we were very comfy for our whole stay. All the facilities worked well, including the hot tub. We had a lovely stay on Susannah's land, a relaxing city break, we saw muntjac deer, birds of prey, wild rabbits! We loved bubbling away in the hot tub overlooking wintery scenes.
