Andrea's Farm Breaks is Keepers Hut glamping accommodation run alongside a working farm campsite in the heart of Purbeck. Andrea is pleased to offer a little luxury for those who want to camp at Downshay Farm in a comfortable bed. Farm is a working farm in the heart of the Isle of Purbeck, ideally located for exploring the stunning World Heritage Site coastline. The Pike family has farmed here since 1956. The farmhouse is largely Victorian although parts of the house and some farm buildings are much older. The accommodation looks out over the lovely views of Corfe Castle and the Purbeck Hills. The seaside town of Swanage is just over 4 miles away as are the sandy beaches of Studland Bay. Local footpaths and Swanage Steam Railway also make exploring Purbeck easy, and we are a few minutes’ walk from Harmans Cross Station. Enjoy the sandy beaches of Shell Bay, Studland and Swanage or go rock pooling or fossil hunting at Kimmeridge Bay. The Coastal Path will take you along the coast to Durlston Country Park, Dancing Ledge and Winspit. The deserted village of Tyneham and its own bay is a short drive away, then follow the scenic road over the Ranges to Lulworth and Durdle Door. Local attractions include Monkey World and Bovington Tank Museum, and a walk through the RSPB bird sanctuary at Arne to Poole Harbour is recommended.

A very spacious campsite with well-maintained composting facilities. The scenic drive down to the site is beautiful, and the clear night skies make it perfect for stargazing. Martins and owls were active both day and night, adding to the atmosphere. On some alternate nights, music played nearby from around 10 pm to 4 am. While noticeable, it was at a consistent and tolerable volume, and importantly, it wasn’t accompanied by disruptive behaviour.

A little piece of heaven! 💫
Stayed for 4 nights but felt I could’ve lived there. So well thought out and finished to a really high standard. The bed was so comfortable and the trip gave me everything I needed. The toilet block was a stones throw away, with hot showers.
The sunset views were a dream - thank you!

Pros:
- Loads of space to pitch / feels private
- Easy to get to
- Mel (host) was really helpful and welcoming
- Clean and relatively flat site
- We had the fire pit/wood bundle and thought it was well worth the money
- Access to sink & clean water
- Plenty of walks nearby (we did the lacock circular hike on AllTrails which was a short drive away & £5 to park in the nation trust car park all day)
Might bother some people:
- The toilets are porta-loos (they were clean though)
- No shower facilities for longer stays

If you looking for mod cons it’s not for you as it’s a field with a portaloo. I’m not gonna lie though, that’s what we wanted. Out in the wilds. It was beautiful. I’d defo recommend.

Simple, low impact camping in quiet woods.
Spacious enough for our 4 person tent, plenty of shelter, safe for open fire during this really dry weather. We were left alone by the site team. Beautiful area with good access to beaches, interesting settlements and good river for swimming.

Lovely big flat field next to a quiet lane with good access. Nice view out to the White Horse on the hill and close enough to a pub :)
We basically had the whole place to ourselves, but there is loads of room.

We camped during the week and on the Saturday. It had clean facilities and it was nice and peaceful during the week, but on the Friday night, it got slightly busier and others pitched their tents a little too close to ours (even when there was plenty of space in the middle) and were not told to move. I was woken up early by the sound of them hitting the shuttlecock (not even by them talking) that’s how close they were!

Any campsite is as good as the people who greet and help you to enjoy your stay, this place is great. Good quality clean and accessible facilities set in a large field ensuring you are never too close to anyone else allowing you to soak up the peaceful natural setting. We had good weather for our stay but I don’t think a change in weather would have dampened our stay. Would recommend this place for a visit, especially if you’re looking for a very quite location to spend your evening after exploring the local Dorset attractions

Great location and very clean amenities. Quiet and secluded. Andrea also let us pitch a small tent on the patch which was very convenient for us both. The hut is kitted out with everything you need. There’s a great bbq out side too. But the induction hot plate did a fabulous job…we’re going to buy one! We will be back next year for more walking and running. Super place. Everyone very friendly

We had an absolutely fantastic time staying in the bell tent. We were already familiar with the field, having camped there with our own tent in the past. But it was so nice to just arrive and have everything set up, including really comfortable beds, particularly travelling with a young child. It makes life much easier. The tent is surprisingly spacious, so can imagine that even in bad weather it would be a really pleasant experience. Everything we needed was provided and the plug sockets were very handy for charging phones, etc. There were even extra blankets in case we got cold. The views are stunning, the toilet and shower facilities are very clean and well maintained. It is a great location for a family holiday, close to Corfe, Swanage and Studland. Andrea was an excellent host and incredibly helpful and responsive to messages before we arrived. I would wholeheartedly recommend the bell tent and look forward to returning in the future.

Absolutely perfect weekend! We stayed on The Lordship which is a beautiful and spacious pitch supplied with a grill and kettle. It has it's own compost loo and bucket shower which was lovely. Chloe is very nice and attentive! Highly recommend staying here if you are looking for magical time.

The location was absolutely perfect. Everything and more that I thought it would be.
I had a little woodland to myself as no one else was camping in the other two pitches, however, even if there was, the space in between was more than enough so you wouldn't even see each other at all.
Near to my pitch there was a loo and a shower to hand.
It was the perfect place for time away from everything.
Chloe was on hand, just a message away and reacted promptly to any questions.
I will be back !!
