Your own private retreat with cosy furnished Hobbit House and quirky features set in your own large private mature gardens. You have an outdoor under cover kitchen with sink and gas hob and prep area, campfire with tripod grill. You have you're own flushing toilet and hot shower. You have your own entrance to the garden. The house is approx 3x3m. We provide cutlery, cooking utensils and wood for the log burner and campfire. There is an electric socket in the house next to the bed suitable for charging purposes. Arrival 3pm and vacate by noon. The surrounding Somerset Levels aren’t just out in the sticks – they also produce them. Willow cane has been cultivated the traditional way in this part of the county for hundreds of years and can be seen growing within a mile of 5 Acres. The Levels are also a wildlife haven, making them an all-round top choice for country walks along the many trails nearby. And while this may be a rural retreat, it's also one that's easy to get to as it's just off the A378 (no winding country lanes to negotiate for this one…) Taunton town centre, with its wide range of shops and supermarkets, is a 15-minute drive away. The closest pub and coffee shop are five minutes away by road. Access is across our campsite which is flat grass. During wet periods it can get slippery so if conditions are against us for your stay, we'll come up with a plan on the day.

Tiny houses near Brockenhurst guide

Where to go

New Forest National Park

Just moments from Brockenhurst, majestic trees, epic viewpoints, and wildlife sanctuaries await in New Forest National Park. Oak-lined trails weave through the park and provide refuge to rare species and birdlife, including snipe, curlew, and redshank. Campsites and holiday parks managed by Camping in the Forest offer tent and caravan pitches with access to electricity, showers, and toilets. Wake up and traverse the park’s historic walking routes—look out for New Forest ponies roaming free on the land.

Isle of Wight Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Take a ferry across The Solent strait to Isle of Wight Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, where chalk cliffs and sandy beaches cover half of the island’s coastline. Enjoy sunshine and sand at Whitecliff Bay, take a chairlift to the top of Needles’ chalk stacks, or visit the medieval Carisbrooke Castle. Family-friendly campsites, cottage rentals, and unique glamping sites are available throughout the area with full hookups, firepits, and swimming pools.

Cranborne Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

Less than an hour from Brockenhurst, campers will find Cranborne Chase AONB, known for its chalk land features and dark sky preserve. Cranborne Chase’s many trails are ideal for nature walks, cycling, and horseback riding. They also provide unique viewpoints of Fovant Badges, a cluster of military badges cut into the chalk hills of Wiltshire. Privately-run camping parks, caravan sites, and unique holiday home rentals within the AONB range from levelled pitches with firepits to eco-friendly shepherd’s huts. Most campsites provide full hookups, showers, and toilets.

When to go

Camping near Brockenhurst is a year-round activity, though seasonal weather patterns can impact access and activities. Summer is the peak season with warmer temperatures and lack of rain. Expect larger crowds and make reservations to guarantee a shaded pitch. Winters are long and cold with temperatures dropping drastically. Though it is rare to see a drop below -3°C, campers should come equipped for cold-weather camping from late fall to early spring.
