Weekend Trip to Stairway to Devon - Huts & Tubs
We stayed at the Tarka Cabin for two nights and had a wonderful experience. Nathan and his family were incredibly welcoming, friendly, and accommodating throughout our stay.
The cabin itself is beautiful, with stunning views and a peaceful, private setting that made it the perfect place to relax. The hot tub was a real highlight and made our stay even more enjoyable.
We had an amazing time and would highly recommend Tarka Cabin to anyone looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway with qmazing views.

We had a wonderful stay at Crinkly cabin. The children loved feeding the animals in the morning and seeing the less than 24h old piglets. The hot tub and sauna were great. We would definitely visit again.

We loved Hazel roundhouse. The freindliest welcome. Excellent facilities, beautifully designed. Views of the rolling countryside are great and the setting is really natural, watching a barn owl swooping over the meadow at dusk was a highlight, as well as star-gazing from the hot tub. We will definitely be returning.

Had an absolutely magical two night stay here for our anniversary. The bed is super comfy. The bath was so relaxing I'm afraid it might have ruined every other bath for me from here on out! The outdoor shower is superb, I've never felt so relaxed and energised.
The area is absolutely beautiful, we went for a walk on the gorgeous bluebell woods and the woodland commons.
Hostess was super friendly and helpful, I can't recommend it enough.

This was a super last-minute booking, despite knowing that it was going to be pretty wet all weekend. Despite the rain, this was a magical place and my son and I had a special time together. The rain maybe made it even more special.
Anna is lovely and very helpful and their dog spent quite a lot of time with us because he realised we would continue to throw a stick for it until we went to sleep. Which was bliss!

Hot tub and sauna are a big plus.
Farm is quiet and very close to all North Devon has to offer.
Accommodation is actually very spacious. 4 fit easily in each room.
Highly recommended. We had a fabulous weekend, I could’ve stayed longer.

We had the best weekend in the gypsy caravan. The area was really pretty and felt very private and we had so much space to ourselves. The caravan itself was well equipped and the bed was really comfy. The separate bath caravan was also lovely.

Weekend Trip to Hideaway Hut, Camping cabin.
I was greeted on arrival by a gorgeous collie dog, who showed me around the accomodation (in return for a game of fetch).
The gypsy caravan itself was very cute and cosy, and safe for solo travellers as Oak cottage is close by, where Anna lives with her family.
The accomodation is well equipped for cooking, washing up etc. with a lovely hot outdoor shower.
Don't leave without using the bathouse. Such a relaxing experience. Perfect way to end my visit.

We didn't know exactly what to expect, but when we discovered our site it was beyond our expectations.
A little slice of woodland paradise.
We got lucky with the weather, but we needn't have worried, the canopy of the trees was enough protection alone. Sitting by our outdoor fireplace after cooking up a meal whilst the bathouse filled up ready for a relaxing dip in the middle of a beautiful bit of woodland. I dunno, sounds pretty good to me.
There are a few different lovely walks along paths around the local area, that are well signposted. (The family also left some hand drawn basic maps/routes around the area, which was lovely)
The gypsy caravan was so cosy, and beautifully decorated.
The fresh eggs, milk, flour, and a lemon were a really nice touch. And if you haven't flipped a breakfast pancake outside in the woods in the morning, what have you been doing???
We walked quite easily to Tintern Abbey and found some lovely spots along the way.
We will certainly look at returning sometime, maybe to check out the yurt site.
Did I mention the outdoor shower wrapped around an oak tree?

We had the best time at the gypsy caravan and bath house. We are looking to rebook to one of there other sites. The supper hamper was absolutely stunning and we cooked it on the BBQ. We did take other ingredients so we managed to have steak, garlic and mushroom sauce with the freshly picked salad that was supplied. Just wow! Definitely recommended

Had a great time on a spontaneous solo trip, staying in the Gypsy caravan. The hosts were very welcoming (including their adorable dog), friendly and willing to share information about the area with good places to visit. The area is amazing with fantastic views and wildlife. The outdoor shower is private, as well as being lovely and hot even in the cooler mornings. The camp had everything I needed to be comfortable and more. My first trip after settling in was a walk down to Tintern to go round the Abbey there which is stunning and the walk itself is beautiful along the river Wye. The bathhouse was a fantastic addition to use after this walk to rest my feet ready for the next day. I borrowed one of the electric bikes they offer to go see more nearby sites and towns and visited a local nature reserve where I saw a family of wild boar 🐗! The bike itself was great and being electric made the journey much easier, Anna (host) gave me a quick demo of how to use it which was helpful as never used an electric before as well as handed me some maps with routes to bike along that helped me navigate around. On my last evening I used the bbq which was easy to set up and a nice way to end my trip. I would recommend the place to friends/family and to check out their other accommodations (yurts and cabin) as they look great to. 🏕

This place is the nuts. I stayed for three nights in the Hut and it was just sublime. I wanted a place where I could get away from civilisation for a few days and this spot provides exactly that.
Everything you need outside of your consumables is provided for you. The facilities are well above standard. Hot water on demand (the shower is better than what I’ve got in my flat. I’m actually missing it) and the bed is super comfortable.
Don’t be tight, pay for the use of the hot tub. Expect to get it wrong the first time you reheat it, learn from your mistake and then enjoy the process of heating your own tub. It’s gorgeous.
Anna and John-Paul were perfect hosts. They completely respected my privacy and were on hand if I needed them which, beyond directions for a hike, I didn’t.
If you don’t have your own dog to take then Rider is onsite to keep you company on hikes or around the hot tub if you want him. I had the best time hanging out with him (warm up your throwing arm. That boy loves a stick)
All this is to say that I had an amazing time here. Don’t think, just book. You won’t regret it. I’ll be back again before the summer has chipped off.

Weekend Trip to Hideaway Hut, Camping cabin.
Amazing little cabin in the perfect setting tto make you forget the outside world. The hideaway hut was the best location of the three on the campsite to as it was at the end of the trail so the other guests didn't have to pass you to get to the yurt or the cabin. Anna was lovely and friendly and had some good knowledge of the area if you needed it. Would recommend to anyone as a great place to relax and unwind but not be too far from civilisation if you need it and the Brecon Beacons are not too far for some hiking and beautiful scenery.

West Quantoxhead to Kilve Coast
This Blue Anchor coastline on the Bristol Channel boasts Jurassic fossils, rugged cliffs, and deep rock pools, ideal for a day’s exploring with curious kids or nature-loving adults. Several holiday parks and no-frills campgrounds offer a convenient base for coastal or inland adventure.
Crowcombe
Near the AONB’s western border, this charming village and its surrounding meadows are a rambler’s paradise, with the Quantock Greenway and Samaritans Way South West trails passing directly through. Caravan parks and traditional campgrounds can be found nearby.
Aisholt
Home to the ancient Aisholt Wood, this scenic region in the east of the Quantocks was a known haunt of English Romantics Coleridge and Wordsworth. The red deer endemic to the Quantocks can often be seen here or at the nearby Holford Kelting reserve. Camping options include no-frills farm sites, plus glamping and caravanning.
Broomfield
In the southerly reaches of the AONB, this hilltop parish is among the highest points in the Quantocks, with its hiking trails providing sweeping rural vistas. The wild garden at Fyne Court offers family-friendly outdoor fun, while wild-style campgrounds and luxury glampsites can be found not too far away.
Kingston St Mary
Right on the southern border of the Quantock Hills, this gateway parish is just a 5-minute drive from the county town of Taunton, which is linked directly by train to London, Plymouth, Leeds, and Cardiff. The South Quantock Heritage Trail ticks off most of the region’s main sights, and is best explored on foot, bike, or horseback. Eco lodges, farm camps, and caravan sites are all available in the vicinity.
