Beautiful campsite on a working farm. Facilities are clean and effective. The animals that we ran into were friendly, especially a little black cat that was very eager to say hello.
The location was great, site was peaceful and there was very little wind, even with the poor weather that we got on our trip.

We absolutely loved it, Ted was so friendly, passionate and very accommodating. We wish we could have stayed longer but we weren't able to due to work. But we will be back! Lovely quiet area, peaceful but with cute ducks around. Fires are allowed so we had a BBQ and just what we needed to get away from the world. No signal too or wifi which is why we chose it. 10/10 recommend!

Great location with amazing views in every direction. The site is located in a very peaceful area with lots of very friendly locals in the neighbouring villages. Ted was a great host and was very helpful and welcoming and gave us great advice on possible activities to do during our stay.

The site has fantastic views and lots of space for children to play. We had a mighty thunderstorm on Saturday with spectacular lightening. Lynne came to check on her campers in the rain, to make sure we were alright. Very thoughtful 😊

We loved our stay on primrose pitch. Listening to Osprey, looking onto beautiful views and we were lucky to have a clear night to see the stars. Ruth was so welcoming and has created a haven to restore nature and allow space for the mini beasts as well as sheep, chickens, geese and a horse. We were lucky to stay on the summer Solstice weekend and visit the amazing stone circle close by. We will definitely be back.

Me and my partner had a fab time camping on Teds land! Great communication throughout with ted and we could even hire a fire pit and wood to keep warm in the evening. The views were incredible and we even had gorgeous ducks walking around the land which we loved! the location is within short driving distance to lovely towns like Dufton and a lovely walk called High Cup. We would definitely recommend!

Bierhope Alpacas is one of the kind. The site is great, away from any modern living noise. The host, Lynne, is absolutely amazing, we felt welcomed as soon as we arrived. She honestly felt like family, nothing was too much trouble and she was very accommodating. The pitches are clean and very big. Clean facilities, alpacas, and the honesty shop has everything you might have forgotten..... And ice cream!!! What I'm trying to say is this is one of the best camp sites we have visited and I would recommend it to anyone.

We booked a pitch for one night, but couldn’t make it overnight in the end. The host Lynne was very understanding and lovely. We did come the following day to feed the alpacas which my son loved! And Lynne was extremely welcoming! Will definitely come back for the full experience!

Kestrel Lodge is a friendly campsite with lots of little touches to make it an excellent base for a base camp or a one stop. There are thoughtful open anytime honesty boxes filled with useful things you might need or have forgotten - payment into the box or by card when reception open. There's a washing machine, wet room and phone chargers for use too - alongside nice loos and showers. If you have a dog the separate exercise field if fabulous. The location is superb for Skiddaw, the north-western fells and hidden gems like Dash Falls. All in all highly recommended!

A really lovely site, facilities are perfect and the views are fantastic. Loved the communal fire pit where you can sit and meet fellow campers. Also there is a pub within walking distance which was a bonus. Fully recommend, I will return.
