Lovely situation, hills with hill forts, a view of Bardsey Island, amazing sunsets, a cafe. Two miles from
Aberdaron where there is a bakery opposite the Spar which makes really good pasties. Good for cycling from.

Lovely well kept campsite at the end of the peninsula. If you’re looking to go off-grid this place is ideal.
The owners were lovely and welcoming and can see they take pride in the site.
Will definitely be back for a detox!

Had a lovely stay at Mynydd Mawr camp site! Beautiful remote location, great for stargazing at night!
Super easy to camp up and find a pitch wherever you like (even tho it was the bank holiday weekend)

Lovely quiet site on the edge of glory, with mountain/hilltop views and a view of the sea into the abyss! Tranquil and some lovely walks around the coastal path or towards the local town/beach.
Sunset was amazing from the hilltop. Campsite was quiet, and friendly campers. Toilets, showers very clean and well maintained. And an added bonus of a cafe, really good breakfast choices, was truly scrumptious! Will definitely be back to visit very soon.

Great views over the sea. The site facilities are clean and the hot showers really good. Be sure to have £1 coins with you for 5 minutes of hot water. Little on site cafe is great for a cuppa and bit of cake and does brekky if you can't be bothered to cook your own or weather is dodgy. The site is a very very short walk from the most beautiful headland and views over towards Beardsley Island. This truly is a special place and the fact that space for the tents isn't overwhelmed by caravans is just great (they're on a different field and don't spoil campers views)

Beautiful views and a lovely SUP/kayak launch site on the river. Perfectly managed spacing between campers which made it feel more private. Slightly more rugged campsite which was exactly what we were looking for. A perfect step away from over commercialised sites.

Lovely campsite located by the river, quiet and a ‘get away from it all’ feel. Suezi was very welcoming and accommodating. Facilities are clean albeit a bit of a trek from most of the pitches.

What a wonderful site and warm welcome - we smiled from the minute we arrived and for our whole stay! Fantastic river views, sunsets, bats, stars, swimming and lots of space so it felt like our own private site. We will definitely be back!

We stayed on the lodge field in our motorhome. Martin happened to be there on arrival and was very welcoming, providing helpful local advice. Beautifully quiet with exceptional views. We also walked down to the lower site which had a lovely brook running through which our children enjoyed playing in. We had a lovely time at Martin’s place and would certainly visit again if we wanted a few days of peace and quiet. Thank you.

Where to go
Clwydian Range And Dee Valley AONB
Grassy peaks and heather-blanketed uplands lie over the border in North Wales, just a 40-minute drive from Chester. Bring your tent or drive your campervan into the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty to hike and mountain bike across wild moorlands, discover Iron-Age hillforts and historic villages, and kayak along scenic canal ways.
River Mersey
North of Chester, the mighty River Mersey flows from Liverpool to Stockport, affording plenty of options for riverside camping. Rent a houseboat to cruise the famous river, head into Liverpool to watch a football (soccer) match or follow in the footsteps of The Beatles, or snag a coastal campsite at Crosby Beach or Formby Beach along the Irish Sea coast.
Peak District National Park

When to go
Summer is the liveliest—and sunniest—time to visit Chester, when you can make the most of the outdoor theatre in Grosvenor Park or head to the Moonlight Flicks outdoor cinema at Chester Cathedral. The Taste Cheshire Food and Drink Festival (April/May) also pulls in the crowds, but watch out for seasonal showers—spring and autumn weather can be temperamental, so tent campers should come prepared.
