It's on a farm run by David and his family, who welcome guests to enjoy the beautiful countryside views. You can see the Tyne Valley from the camping pitches, which is great for stargazing at night. The site is basic with just water taps and toilets, no showers, but there's lots of space for kids and dogs to play. You're allowed to bring a barbecue or firepit for cooking, and you can buy supplies in Prudhoe nearby. Or, you can walk to Hedley on the Hill for a meal at a top-notch pub. There are plenty of things to do nearby, like walking in the woods, playing golf, or trying gliding. You can also visit Hadrian’s Wall, Newcastle upon Tyne, or explore the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty for a varied and enjoyable break.Also this June we will be open for the Sam Fender weekend ie June 12 til the 16th if anyone wants to camp £20 a night plus a taxi for £20

Me and my partner came here for a much needed city break by tent and it was honestly amazing! The shower and toilet are seperate facilities and both clean, there is a kitchen too with a gas stove for cooking! The site is near anywhere you'd like to drive or even walk to around the peak district, and in the actual site itself you can see all the altitude and beauty around you. The air is incredibly fresh, and the owners of the campsite are really sweet and helpful. Will definitely come back for our next trip to the peak district this summer, thank you for having us :)

I loved the campsite. The plots were very spacious and not at all crammed in, so there was lots of room for my toddler to run around in. The facilities were good as there was a static caravan with a kitchen, bathroom, toilet and even a couple of lounge areas, which would be useful if you got bad weather. It was so handy having the use of a hot water for washing up. I would definitely go back!

Small and perfectly sized. Loved the honesty shed with fresh produce to buy. Fire wood, fresh eggs, honey & sausage/burgers etc in the freezer. Such a nice touch especially that it was all sourced from the farm. Only thing I would say is if you can put a sign on the door with opening times of the shed it would have saved my little lads legs at 7.30 walking for milk lol! Other than that. Perfect!

Lovely rural back to basics campsite easy to find .. charlotte was lovely.. there too meet you show you the amenities! Then just left you too it but was around should you need her. The honesty shop was great we forgot sausages, there we bought the pork 1s which was delicious. Communal cooking facilities was great if needed although we didn't use .. I did use the shower which was great (only thing I'd say was a light in there it was dark once the door was shut) The peace an quite not just at night, during the day too is exactly what we was looking for none of us wanted to leave and will definitely be back again soon. Added bonus of a near by festival providing some great live music yesterday too which we loved.

There’s plenty more going for this peaceful site as well: walkers will perk up on hearing that it’s right on the Cleveland Way National Trail, surfers can catch waves at popular Cayton Bay (five minutes’ drive), and families can head for Go Ape or scenic biking trails in Dalby Forest (40 minutes). There’s also a farm shop 15 minutes’ walk away where you can get a decent coffee and homemade food. There’s plenty of room so you’re free to pitch up where you wish. Well-behaved dogs are welcome, and barbecues or firepits are allowed as long as they’re raised off the ground to protect the grass. The camping area is exposed and can get windy at times, so take care when erecting tents and ensure everything is well secured. Facilities are simple: chemical toilets and a water supply. The water supply is from the mains but we recommend bottled water for drinking to be safe. There are no showers on site. Solar showers can be bought on-line for about £10. The access road is alongside a grass field, so please ensure that your vehicle is suitable for the terrain. Our three, brand new wood and canvas yurts are nestled in our private, woodland hotel garden beside the beautiful conservation (SSSI) river of Scandal Beck. Just a short drive from The Lake District, The Yorkshire and Durham Dales as well as The Scottish Border, we are perfectly located for you to explore. The yurts themselves are individually decorated with full size furniture, electricity and double beds. The yurts are all located in the garden of The Black Swan Hotel, Ravenstonedale, a multi award-winning hotel, restaurant and bar; recipient of 2 AA Rosettes as well as AA pub of the year for England 2018/19. As part of your stay in our yurts you will receive a full cooked breakfast and buffet option included in the price for 2 people in our hotel restaurant. We like to think of ourselves as a cosy home from home with a relaxed dining atmosphere throughout. We are very dog friendly in the hotel, restaurant, bar and yurts so please bring your furry family members. Our beautiful woodland is also home to red squirrels (which are seen daily), protected, freshwater crayfish in the river, an otter (seen very infrequently but the nemesis of our ducks), 6 Indian runner ducks, free range chickens and our two cockerels! (Dogs are very welcome but are to be kept on a lead whilst in the woodland itself). We are very dog friendly and charge an additional fee of £15 for 1 dog/ £20 for 2 dogs for an additional cleaning fee and for some dog friendly goodies such as poop bags and treats. The price of this yurt is based on an occupancy of 2 people. Any other people who will be staying on the sofa bed will add a charge of £40 per person per night for breakfast and their stay. All yurts come with electrical battery pack, chargeable lanterns, tea/coffee, homemade biscuits, log burning stoves, towels, full breakfast included from the hotel, an outdoor seating area and access to our outdoor toasty warm woodland shower as well as our very cute, wooden toilet cabin. Hairdryers are available in the hotel for your use.

With a private valley, formed in the last ice age, acres of land and woodland to explore, our farm has a very special feeling which has been mentioned by every visitor.
