Woodland camping near Stockton-on-Tees

·

Stockton-on-Tees offers forest camping that feels rooted and real—think mossy trails, old oaks, and the smell of woodsmoke. With over 40 options just for forest stays, you’ll find everything from simple clearings to tucked-away glades where you can actually hear the birds. Average nights run around £120, but you can pitch up for as little as £12 if you keep it basic. Favourites include Breaks Fold Farm Glamping & Camping (31 reviews)—known for its woodland paths and space for campfires—along with The Black Swan (12 reviews) and The Darling Woods of May (6 reviews). Most sites welcome pets, allow campfires, and have toilets—not fancy, but sorted. Climbing, hiking, and fishing are right on your doorstep. Don’t forget a torch and a good pair of boots; forest ground here gets muddy after rain and the best spots are often a short trek from the car.
