Glamp or pitch up here in our secluded and peaceful mini off-grid site combining both field and forest.
We have a shared under cover space and also an outdoor fire-pit to gather more than 20 people comfortably. There is a simple compost loo for your use with hand-washing and dish washing area outside. And the rest is all Mother nature! There is no running water or drinking water. You will need to bring your own. No electricity points or WIFI are in the campsite and no masts nearby so enjoy the EMF cleanse.
Whether you chose to stay in the ancient woodland or the herbal pasture, you will feel the benefits of reconnecting with yourself in nature, breathing the clean air and hearing the birds singing. The parking is 800m away and there is minimal tractor use so you can imagine yourself roaming the fields and forest of England in days gone by.
Fitness required. It's a long walk from the car park to the campsite. Trolleys provided.

In the beautiful High Weald of Kent, Tash and Nick have been running May Tree Orchard's low-impact, nature-friendly, seasonal campsite, Plum Camping, for the last 5 years.
The Soil Association certified organic land is full of wild flowers and surrounded by woodland and other orchards. Electricity and hot water for showers and washing up is solar generated. So you can charge your phone if necessary, but we'd recommend stargazing and enjoying the quiet warmth of friends and family around an evening fire instead.
Bring your own tent, stay in the delightful hand-made shepherd’s hut or stylish caravan, or hire the whole May Tree Orchard space. Numbers are kept low here so that there is always plenty of room for everyone, as well as peace and quiet.
The campsite is an hour and a half drive from London and a 20 min walk to the sleepy and pretty village of Goudhurst, with pubs selling great food and two local shops for self-catering. There are also two excellent farm shops within walking distance.
Close to May Tree Orchard, there are walks via Sissinghurst, Scotney and Bodiam Castle, and water activities on the River Rother and at Bewl Water. Bedgebury National Pinetum and Forest is a ten-minute drive from the campsite and the coast around Hastings and Rye is just over 30 minutes.
An amazing independent food business, Growing Communities, sells pears, apples and plums grown at the orchard in their box scheme serving North and South London, and you can also buy them from the Pear Necessities stall at Stoke Newington Farmers Market. Delicious apple juice and tasty chutney made from the organic apples grown in the orchard are available to purchase on site, as well as plum preserve and orchard plums.

Our 17 acre Farm is set deep within the beautiful South Downs National Park on the outskirts of the quiet village of Milland (near Liphook) in rural West Sussex (close to its border with Hampshire and Surrey). We have direct access to an excellent bridleway and footpath network through peaceful open countryside and quiet lanes as well as being on the Serpent Tail and close to the South Downs Way.
Our Glamping Pod and Shepherd's Hut are available to book all year round. We also offer stabling if you would like to take your horses or ponies on holiday with you!
Milland village (0.8 miles) has the Rising Sun pub, serving great food and drink, and Milland Stores, which stocks all your essential fresh and local produce as well as having a small cafe.

Weekend Trip to Little Fleece at Folly Farm
We had such a lovely stay here and genuinely enjoyed every minute. The outdoor fireplace area was one of our favourite parts, especially sitting by the fire in the evening, and the little table outside made it perfect for eating and relaxing. The hot tub was wonderful too.
What really stood out was how much care had gone into everything. We had everything we needed, and the homemade touches made it feel even more special: fresh bread, homemade biscuits, handmade soap and a lovely breakfast provided for us. Everything was clean, comfortable and very well thought out.
We were also really impressed by the kindness and care of our host. We felt very looked after from beginning to end. Such a peaceful, beautiful place and definitely somewhere we would happily stay again.

Lovely peaceful orchard setting and a cute retro caravan makes for a peaceful weekend escape. Both hosts were friendly and helpful throughout our stay, suggesting a lovely walk, some ideas for places to eat and giving us new ice packs for the fridge on the second day. Dog friendly which was a bonus. Caravan is comfortable and rain proof, a bonus given there torrential downpours we had during our time there. The apple juice we bought was glorious too. Definitely recommend if you want a break from electrical living for a few days. We appreciated the games available and spent a few times honing our chess skills!

It’s a lovely place with nice tents and things to do for the kids. My little one is 3 years old and she loved the bell tent and the hammocks and badminton. The cafe is lovely too. We live in London and it was very easy to reach with public transport. Maybe bring some ear plugs because you will hear airplanes.

This is such a beautiful little spot. I just can't recommend it enough. I went with my son who's 5 and he loved staying in the caravan, exploring the site, and seeing the wildlife. Natasha and Nick are absolutely lovely and excellent hosts. Thanks for sharing your lovely space. Definitely try their apple juice it's delicious. If you want a quiet break in the countryside, this is it.

We stayed at the hut for 3 nights and it was amazing. The place is cosy and has everything you need. The communication with Ali was fast and really helpful. The pub next door is lovely and a really good option if you don’t feel like cooking. We would definitely recommend a stay when you want some peace and quiet and time in nature.

Weekend Trip to Quaint Farm in a National Park
Our weekend getaway at Matt’s farm was nothing less than perfect. The surroundings are private, beautiful and peaceful and the hut itself is lovely - very tastefully decorated and comfortable. We were really impressed by the attention to detail, and the special extra touches such as marshmallows for the fire were really appreciated! There is a lovely pub and farm shop just 20 min walk away, and Matt suggested a walk around the forest and nearby monastery which was lovely. We were sad to leave and would absolutely come back! The sheep at the bottom of the garden were the highlight - they were so sweet and loved being scratched! Thank you Matt for a wonderful stay!

The lodge was perfect for my partners birthday celebrations. We stayed a few nights and was so happy with everything. Annabel was very responsive and helpful and did everything she could to make sure we had a great time. The accomodation itself was beautiful and spacious and had everything we needed to unwind and unplug. Beds were comfy and shower was lovely, kitchen was well equipped and the welcome basket was a thoughtful touch. The outside spaces are wonderful for hosting and we ended up having the whole field to ourselves.

The tents were set up inside so comfortably, shower and toilet block clean and beautifully rustic with gorgeous smelling soap and shampoo etc. Added bonus of having the firepit available with added safety precautions with current dry conditions. A fantastic place we never knew was there, just down the road from us. We wanted a couple of days away but didn’t want to travel far so this was ideal and close to the stables we were going to to ride. We felt a million miles away. Lovely glamping pod in beautiful woodland surroundings. The pod has everything you need and is very comfortable to stay in. Matt is a great host who is there if you need anything but doesn't intrude on your peace and tranquility unless required. Lovely village nearby, the Rising Sun pub is approx 15 minute walk away serving great food etc if you want a night off cooking. My wife and I would definitely recommend this retreat. We had such a lovely stay here and would definitely recommend it. The accommodation was comfortable , well equipped, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. It was peaceful, private, and the perfect place to switch off for a couple of days.
The hot tub was a real highlight, especially in the evening, and the whole setting felt really well looked after. Communication from the host was excellent, with clear instructions and a smooth check-in process.

Lovely ‘wild Glamping’ set up. Off grid.
Each bell tent was equipped so that all you need to bring is bedding, food and a tea towel.
We stayed on a very hot evening so the tree cover was welcome. Plenty of shade and protected from elements. There is a little field if you want to get out from the woods (and play a little badminton). Bucket shower was great.
I also over stayed by an hour or so (thanks!) and saw just how much effort was put into the cleaning of the cooking equipment etc by the staff who were wonderful.
I did take a camping stove as I wasn’t sure I wanted to cook over a fire during the heatwave but actually I made a fire anyway as it is always fun and could have coped without.
If going in wet weather I would make sure you take decent footwear - that’s all! Thanks for a lovely stay
