We are a small, friendly site on a working farm in the beautiful South Downs National Park. We have shepherds huts, bell tents and a land pod in an old sheep paddock, all with private fire pits. We’re surrounded by footpaths and bridleways that can be explored all day, and 10 minutes drive from the sea. We also have a small grass-pitch campsite that opens in the summer for tents and camper vans.

Our host was very friendly and helpful. Facilities were fine, clean and tidy. You will probably need some ramps if you want to be completely level but wasn’t a problem for us.

Me and my partner stayed at Chalky downs for 2 nights for a little get away ✨. Sharen’s land is beautiful, everyone is so friendly and we even got to order a sausage bacon and egg bap with tea and coffee in the morning! ☀️. We went into Brighton town for a bit of shopping and to see the sea, only a 14 minute drive and we parked in the station car park 👏🏼. Would 100% recommend and will definitely be going back! Thank you so much. 🫶🏼

Views were gorgeous, spots were well laid out. Encourages a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, everyone we came across was lovely. Toilets were lovely which we were not expecting!! So many great features to this campsite including the little shop. Has everything you could need. Absolutely loved it.

Had a wonderful stay, at Housedean, a wonderful location for hitting Brighton Eastbourne and Lewes. Great walk from the site and lovely friendly accommodating staff.

We had a great weekend on Sharen‘s land, there appeard to be plenty of space although some places are a little hilly so need to be careful where you pitch your tent. Facilities were really clean, there were only three showers but luckily the campsite wasn’t overly busy, so it wasn’t an issue.

Beautiful surroundings, great place to pitch up my van for its first outing and has taught me what additions I need for my setup next time I go camping.
It’s well looked after has almost everything you need if you are a seasoned camper. The views are stunning and it’s so peaceful despite there being a fair few other people there. Would for sure stay again

We had such a lovely time at Chalky Downs. On arrival we were met by Sharon who was so welcoming and helpful. She had also noticed we had 2 little ones and had pre-arranged a spot with some shade for the hot weather, which was very thoughtful and appreciated.
The views are wonderful, and is close enough to a nice beach in Rottingdean and Brighton. Would definitely return
