Loved the peace and quiet while staying here. Had a blast helping with chores and getting to meet all the animals and pet the cats. An amazing stay we’ll definitely come back to on our way north again

This was an excellent camp for us. Stuck in a traffic jam & in need of a safe place to rest. We got so much more than that! The hosts checked in on us in gridlock & greeted us with a smile when we wearily arrived. The facilities were clean and easily accessible. The critters made us smile

Dan and Arlene were very easy to communicate with and very welcoming. Their space was very comfortable for my family of 4 and the breakfast Arlene made in the morning was delicious! My 4 year old also thoroughly enjoyed the farm tour that Dan gave us in the morning. The hosts were very understanding of our late arrival and also very flexible in our check-out time. The bed and cottage was very comfortable - they set up two twin beds for our kiddos, which was great. Only thing is I wish I had brought my portable blackout curtain to block some of the light where the extra beds were set up, but I guess that is farm life for ya! :)

Dan & Arlene are welcoming. Their farm is cozy and beautiful. Our family had a very comfortable night in the Sawmill Cabin. Breakfast was delicious and filling. The sheep, cats, chickens, Shetland cows, pigs and dogs on the farm round out a great experience.
We would love to come back again.

This was my first time camping— ever. As a girl who grew up in/around the city, it was the furthest thing from my mind, until recently. I decided to stay somewhere that was away from the bustle of a city, but still had accesible amenities and Harvest Village was perfect fit and more. Though I was the only guest on the grounds during my stay, the sites are all well-spaced and private enough from each other. The shared amenities are clean and in working order— there’s a shared indoor lodge space that has sitting areas, as well as a bathroom with a toilet and shower. The shower is small, but it was a nice luxury while camping. There is also potable water on the grounds, either through the bathroom or the spigot/hose near the work-shed.
Aside from the amenities, the farm was indescribably peaceful and enjoyable. Dan and Arlene were absolute gems of hosts— appropriately attentive, friendly, hospitable, and generous. The temperature dropped to the 30s unexpectedly the evening I arrived and, unfortunately, I hadn’t prepared for that weather, but they offered me extra blankets and things to keep warm at night.
I also got to learn about the farm— Dan offered to let me tag along while he completed evening chores with the animals and Arlene showed me the garden— which was so lovely and eye-opening.
Overall, 100% enjoyable stay and campsite. I intend to be back soon and hope to bring friends.
And blankets :) thank you Dan and Arlene for helping make my first camp trip a blast!

RV Camper Site on the Farm
Rustic farm close to Cadillac and several smaller lakes. Cadillac winery a short jaunt as well. We enjoyed walking the property with Dan. Watching the animals get fed was a treat. His dog herded the sheep into the barn. So cool to watch. Shower was very small and took awhile to warm up. However, thankful it was clean and available.

We had a nice stay on our way to Northern Michigan. The site on the farm was lovely and peaceful. No eggs were available but we did have a Rooster help to wake us up in the morning! I wish we could have stayed longer, but we will definitely keep them in mind for future trips!

If you have toddlers then Dan and Arlene’s place is a must! The children all loved seeing farm animals up close and feeding them. We enjoyed having a lodge to hang out in after spending time cramped in our van. The camp sites were sweet too. The farm breakfast in the morning was the final and perfect touch. We are so happy we went and now our son keeps asking to go back to the farm with the big farm house.

Dan and Arlene were terrific hosts. Easy to communicate with and checked with us to see if we needed anything at our site. Even with other campers staying there the sites are spred out giving you plenty of privacy. Bathroom/hot shower in the main lodge building was a definite bonus.
Our site was level and near pine trees giving us some shade in the day and cover over the tent at night. Fire ring and firewood made cooking our own food easy, we even were able to make hot tea and used our French press for coffee in the a.m.
Dan gave us a farmstead tour showing us the chickens, pigs, and highland cows. It was a thrill to watch their herding dog drive the sheep from the upper pasture back to the barn before dark.
Peaceful sleep, great dark sky to enjoy a super bright moon and millions of stars. Location easy to find just a few miles off Highway 131 Northbound. A great Hipcamp experience!

Dan and Arlene’s land was perfectly manicured with beautiful foliage throughout the landscape. An added bonus of the land were the highland cows and sheep grazing in the luscious green pasture.

This was my second visit to Dan & Arlene's place. The last time it was 18 months ago in the middle of the winter. That whole trip we were left wondering how much more alive the farm would be in summer. We found out! The very same lovely hospitality and delicious breakfast accompanied even more beautiful scenery than we had before. The hiking trails all through their land are very relaxing with lots of bird sounds and easy terrain. All in all a great place to soak in some Michigan.

We had a late arrival, didn't realize we couldn't bring our dog into the indoor lodging (our fault) and luckily we had the supplies to camp. They helped us set up our tent at a very late hour and were so patient. Breakfast was delicious and they were so nice.

Such well kept grounds, amazing, kind hosts that we could not get enough talking with, beautiful farm, animals that the kids enjoyed watching and interacting. Can’t recommend enough! We had a wonderful time staying at Dan and Arlene’s cabin. Their farm is gorgeous and they are welcoming and generous hosts. The cabin is cozy and comfortable, with a gorgeous view. We loved Arlene’s delicious breakfasts on the patio and relaxing by a bonfire each evening after fun days exploring the area. Biking on the rail trail, swimming, hiking. Sleeping bear dunes-their is lots to do. It’s our third time and we can’t recommend enough!

RV Camper Site on the Farm
Relaxed and joy filled two night stay at Dan & Arlene's farm camp. We set up our little 13' teardrop trailer on the level spot just 100 feet down the hill from the Lodge (restroom, shower & lounge hall). Sheep barn and chickens spotted through the tall pines. The southern view of the slopping hills reminded us of foothills of the Western states. Shade for breakfast and afternoon rests. We also loved the idea of using the Lodge on hot days or to retreat from rain if needed. A great group space with piano, books and game playing space.
Dan and Arlene were exceptional hosts! Open invitation to meet the sweet cattle, Lola and Lassie as they grazed. The quiet and dark sky (with amazing star views) were wonderful for a good night's sleep. We spent most of our days in and around Cadillac area on the Lakes, but our time at the Farm was wonderful. We opted in for the home-made breakfast on Sunday morning and it was DELICIOUS! Fresh local fruit and granola, bacon and eggs (all from the farm) omelet, local toast and Arlene's homemade strawberry jam. The coffee was a KICK too! Thank you Dan and Arlene for your hospitality for our memorable first HipCamp experience!

Breakfast was amazing! Home cooked, restaurant quality. Arlene was very friendly and also professional!
Lodging was quaint and accommodating.
Farm atmosphere and the scenic views were very peaceful and beautiful.
Walking around with Dan meeting all the animals and observing night chores was special.
If you’re looking for a quiet getaway, this would be a great place to stay!

The property was extremely pleasant and very peaceful. Dan and Arlene were very friendly and extremely welcoming upon arrival and prior to departure. They even offered us the chance to experience farm life if we chose to which I thought was really sweet. S’more kits are available and the bathroom and showers were very nice. First hipcamp experience and would highly recommend.

Felt like I was staying with my favorite Aunt 'n Uncle -- who, no matter what, would welcome and treat me with comfort and care. The farm suite...was impressively better than what I had anticipated. Our family had planned to play on the slopes in Caberfae and this was the perfect place to be situated for that. Will definitely return! It is a gem, for sure.

Awesome affordable couples getaway! We were greeted by a sign welcoming us by name, followed by a farm tour in the evening. The room was clean and inviting with beautiful views of the farm. We loved seeing the sheep, pigs, as well as the barn cat and dog. Dan & Arlene were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast, two meat & veggie omelets, fresh coffee, toast and jam, and a yogurt & granola parfait, was absolutely wonderful on the patio. Overall, we would highly recommend this stay.

Staying at Dan and Arlene’s was a truly wonderful experience. The cabin is spacious and comfortable with a view of their beautiful farm. The breakfasts are a true highlight-absolutely delicious, and we loved eating on the deck each morning and watching the sheep! The land and farm are peaceful and serene, lovely to explore. Close to bike paths including the rail trail, hiking, kayaking and anything you’d want to do. After busy days outside we ended each night with a bonfire and s’mores.
Dan and Arlene were kind and thoughtful hosts who think of every detail and provide a wonderful experience-we can’t recommend enough!

My first stop on an emotional whirlwind trip up north in Michigan -- and it could not have been more perfect. I chose to stay in the lodge, and it was awesome. Comfortable, clean, cozy, spacious. I watched the sun set from a perfect seat between my room and the sheep night pen. It stormed like crazy that night, and I watched the lightning illuminate the pines -- beautiful. The tent sites looked great. I would either tent camp or stay again in the lodge. Dan and Arlene are kind people, wonderful hosts. And Begi is a good dog! And the breakfast? Really, really good. Highly recommend.
