Stephen and Carole have such an amazing private camping retreat, we only wished we had booked a longer time.
The access is easy, Stephen met us at the parking to help haul some of our gear to the camp sites. Both site were beautiful and setup with a picnic table, fire pits and wood. About 200 metres was a trail down to their private beach which was the perfect place to hangout all afternoon. Our niece loved playing in the shallow sandy water while we enjoy the stunning view.
We highly recommend this camping location as we’ve struggled to find great options over the last two years with how busy normal camping areas have been.
We can’t wait to for next season to get back to this awesome getaway.

Camping at Lakeside Retreat was wonderful! Crow lake and the trails on the property were beautiful. We would definitely go there again! If you are looking for peace and quiet this is the perfect place!

So Stephen was super friendly and helpful. However listing led you to believe that you would be on the water with the photos, that’s not the case this site is up a cliff about a 600 m walk to the beach. The fire pit is on a pretty steep slope so that’s not ideal. Also the facilities looked nice but were not clean (my wife refused to use them due to the cleanliness) we understand it’s an outhouse but there was poo on the seat the whole time we were there. There is only one outhouse for 3 campsites and it is quite the walk to get there. Firewood was supposed to be provided (this had been changed to pay for it now) but we got one small pile and we’re forced to find our own for the rest of our stay not a huge deal but it’s a good thing we had an axe. Sleeping was made more difficult by the cargo train blasting its horn every 30 mins all night. With minor changes ie cleaning and making the site layout more friendly I would return but not until that happens.

We camped at Lakeside Retreat for 2 nights and only wished we had a little more time to rest and explore. The beach and Crow Lake are exceptional, with crystal clear water perfect for paddling. Keep in mind that if you’re bringing your own kayak or canoe, it’s a bit of a journey from the parking area down to and up from the water. We had amazing weather and paddled out to Snake Island but didn’t make it as far as the jumping rock. That will have to be an adventure for another day! Thanks to Stephen and Colette for being so hospitable and for helping us get our gear to the site. A great time!

The Lakeside Retreat was an absolute dream! Our hosts were so welcoming and accommodating from help with getting our gear to the campsite by atv and supplying our wood. We also rented their kayaks which was a great experience. The site itself was great with pretty good privacy from the other site and just a couple minute walk to the car and down to the beach. I would definitely recommend and stay here again!!! Also!!! Fireflies light uo the forest at sunset! It was magical! This obviously may be a seasonal event :)

Incredible place. Stephen and his wife are incredible people that have gone through a lot of effort to make sure the place is excellent. If you’re on the fence don't think twice just go. The beach is incredible ... you won't be disappointed!

Wonderful 2 night stay at the lakeside retreat. We camped in spot #1 , which was about 100m from the parking area. Easy walk with our gear, but Stephen and Colette greeted us along with an ATV to help.
The site was cleared and levelled and had a fire pit and picnic table. They even included some pre-cut wood to burn. We were able to setup quickly and add a tarp for some additional shade and protection from the rain.
There is an outdoor about 60m away. Its new and fresh and has sanitizer and toilet paper. Definitely an added bonus.
The walk to the beach is about 2-3 mins up a few mild hills. There is a steep embankment along this walk so its a good idea to keep an eye on your little ones. Not too dangerous per se, but just be aware.
Once at the beach there is a plenty of room to stretch out. The beach is sandy and the water is super clear and refreshing. No fishing here but it was a perfect spot to swim and chill out.
Great spot, great people. What more can you ask for?!

Couples Lakeside Retreat
What an amazing camping experience. Stephen and Colette were so so friendly, greeted us as soon as we arrived, even offered us help with our luggage. The sites are well designed to ensure privacy, and the beach....just beautiful. Crystal clear water, private and quiet. Both kids loved it so much that they did not want to go home (this was our very first camping experience). We were lucky to have no rain during our stay, and we could see the stars at night which was another bonus.
We stayed at site #1, very clean outhouse just a few steps away. It is also the closest to the parking area. Site # 3 is a little farther up from #1, however it has a nice breeze, and also beautiful lake views.
Just a perfect memorable getaway, and we will return for sure!

We had a great time at Stephens and Colette’s little pice of paradise. They were super helpful and gave us plenty of space. They even helped us bring our gear in on quad and supplied us with fire would for the night. They best part of all though was the beach, so beautiful and peaceful.

This place is a gem. The beach is beautiful, camp site is peaceful and outhouse is super clean. Stephen and his wife are awesome hosts....very helpful. We stayed at lot 3 and we love the privacy of the spot as well as the view of the water. Check out a video of this wonderful place

Oh my goodness! What an amazing place to camp, especially for our family! Steve and Colette are such wonderful people and you can tell how happy they are to share their beautiful property with campers. They went above and beyond to make sure our stay was comfortable and that we were enjoying ourselves. The sites are so clean and the trail to get to the sites are very well maintained, even the Outhouse. The beach, oh my, writing about it doesn't do it justice. The water is so clear and clean and so safe for kids, even for really young ones. We felt like we were camping at a friend's property, which was nice because it made our stay even that more enjoyable. We most definitely will be back, the kids want to make this a yearly tradition :)

This is THE perfect place for camping. The campsites are clean and perfectly set up, including connecting trails. The beach, we cannot say enough amazing things about the perfectly pristine beach and lake. My children are absolutely in love with this location.
P.s. you will never find a cleaner, nicer outhouse in existence.
The hosts are amazing, the location is perfect. 100% will return many times!!

We stayed at lot # 1 ….lot is secluded….stephen met us upon arrival with atv and trailer too help us with are camping stuff ….stephen was very nice and welcoming …lot was big had a fire pit with wood provided and picnic table and also had an outhouse ….the beach was amazing perfect for toddlers all sandy clear no weeds and shallow for small children was perfect for are 3 year old didn’t have too worry about a sudden dip so we could watch him while sitting on the chairs that are provided as for my 12 year old the water gets deeper the further u go so she could snorkel ….their was hiking trails off the lots for ppl that like hiking surprisingly not too many black flies …overall very nice place …Stephen wife colette came too check up on us too see how we were doing very welcoming couple at the end Stephen came and loaded up are supply’s so we didn’t have too carry everything too are cars chatted a bit before leaving and my 12 year old daughter gave him a hug says a lot about him since my daughter doesn’t normally give hugs unless she feels really comfortable ….

This place is simply AMAZING !!! If you are the nature lover , looking for some peace and tranquility this is the place to be .
Stephen and his wife Colette are simply amazing ,welcoming and easy going individuals willing to help along the way .
This is not your typical Campground site with hundreds of campers side by side. With only three camp sites at their beautiful property you will find yourself lost within surrounding beauty of nature with lots of privacy and peace .
If you are an adventure and camping lover Lakeside Retreat at Crow's Lake is a place to go !

Where to begin.... Lakeside Retreat is a beautiful spot. The owners have carefully thought of everything.
We were greeted upon our arrival, and were made to feel welcome instantly. We had chosen site 1, as it was closest to the beach.
Our site was very private, large and provided both a picnic table and firepit. To our surprise and appreciation, there was firewood piled beside the firepit for our supper.
A short little walk/hike to the beautiful sandy beach. The water was crystal clear. Allowing us to even spot the fish swimming by. The beach was perfect.
There was an outhouse very close by to our site. Which also was very clean, and included hand sanitizer. As mentioned, the owners have carefully thought of everything.
I would highly recommend staying at the Lakeside Retreat, and will definitely be going back.

The owners of Lakeside Retreat are just as amazing as the land and the lake the camp is located on is beautiful. I recently spend two nights there and enjoyed every minute of my stay. What they have created provides the perfect balance between the comfort of a provincial park and the peace, privacy and solitude of a secluded crown land camp feel. The lake is crystal clear, clean and quiet. You could relax on their private beach, hike around the property or enjoy a day of paddling on the lake. Crow Lake attaches to Bobs Lake offering the endless opportunity of exploration on the water. Watch the sunrise from the beach, the sun set from the top of the hill across the water, some laughs around your campfire or if you’re just looking to get away from the hectic world of today. Whatever it is you are looking for Lakeside Retreat has it and is the perfect place to do it all. I will defiantly be returning for another adventure.
