Galla Designs Studio is located on a lovely 22 acre farm on the oceanfront, 5 km from the ferry. It featurs a beautiful artisans storefront with over 60 local artisans, food items and coffee. It is also home to the Belle River Post office.
Please let us know if you need to arrive after 8pm.
Please see parking instructions as there is no turn around in the main driveway.

To find us Google maps sometimes does not like wood Islands as our city so please use Belle River. About 50m just west of our main entrance to the farm and store, you will see a farm road that is marked with "1167 FARM" address sign. Please use that road to come in and just after the little wooded section it will open up and you will see a picnic table to your right. You can park in there. If you need help with anything, just call my cell phone 902-326-1015 Please note that there could be another camper if booked, so please park accordingly. Store is located in the small white barn next to the white house. The black building nearest the camp area is my parents house - not the store, so plesae do not walk in there. ;) lol

We are located on the beautiful Northumberland Strait, which boasts the warmest waters north of the Carolinas. When the tide is out you can walk on the sand bars for hours. Here you will enjoy beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
We are only 15 minutes from the Confederation Bridge to Prince Edward Island and Nova Scotia is only half an hour away if you want to go exploring.
Also, you might like to try your luck fishing sea bass. Legal catch size is 50 to 65 centimeters.
Our large beach front sites easily accomodate RVs and motor homes. Sites 1,2,3,and 10 are not available as they have been booked for seasonal campers.
We have 10 open sites.
We allow one camping unit per site.
Campfires are permitted according to provincial regulations. Firewood is available. Dogs are permitted; however, they must be on a leash at all times.

"Big Blue" sits atop a lawn covered hill on the shore of the Cobequid Bay. A grove of fir and pine trees offer a sense of woodland solitude and fairies. The energy is magical.
You can enjoy a front row seat or amble down over the lawn to sit on the end of the public wharf to watch the tidal bore squeeze into the mouth of the Shubenacadie River. It won't be long and you can marvel at the force of the water as it turns and begins to pour back toward the Bay of Fundy.
Walk across the dyke to reach the oldest continually operating general store in North America - Frieze and Roy. Beyond the Wharf, a locally stocked craft shop borders us on the easterly side of the lawn. Next to it you will find Dawson Dowel Picnic Park, a playground and basketball court.
On the westerly side of the driveway you there is a marsh area. The remnants of the shipyard where the WD Lawrence was built in the 1800's can be seen poking through the sand on the beach directly in front of the marsh. At low tide you can walk for miles in a westerly direction. Always be Tide Aware!
Across the road from the marsh is the residence of WD Lawrence himself. It is a provincial museum. Directly across from Big Blue is a Ducks Unlimited pond. The sound of the geese and ducks can be heard 24 hours a day! There is a path that circumvents most of the pond. Adjacent to the Lawrence House parking lot there is an observatory where you can linger and watch the shenanigans of the occasional muskrat or possibly a beaver.
The washrooms are accessed through a side door on the verandah of the main house. There are three showers and three toilets. If happen to be missing your "workout" there is a treadmill and exercise bike available to use.
Outdoor fire regulations are strictly adhered to. There is a BBQ available for a small fee.

Guests can test their scouting skills while trying to identify as many native species as they can while on site using Merlin or I-naturalist citizen science apps or engage in conversation with their hosts Kevin, Tawny or Caden.

The camping area is ideal for all types of campers. RVers (up to 35 ft) can expect a pull-in site that will require some leveling. There is no toilet on-site so BYO camping toilet. Pets are welcome. Fires are permitted within local regulation.
We are located just off the 102 highway outside Truro in the village of Brookfield. You will enjoy spectacular views, ATV trails, lake water sports, parks, and local village shops nearby. Our farm is frequently visited by wildlife.

"Big Blue" sits atop a lawn covered hill on the shore of the Cobequid Bay. A grove of fir and pine trees offer a sense of woodland solitude and fairies. The energy is magical.
You can enjoy a front row seat or amble down over the lawn to sit on the end of the public wharf to watch the tidal bore squeeze into the mouth of the Shubenacadie River. It won't be long and you can marvel at the force of the water as it turns and begins to pour back toward the Bay of Fundy.
Walk across the dyke to reach the oldest continually operating general store in North America - Frieze and Roy. Beyond the Wharf, a locally stocked craft shop borders us on the easterly side of the lawn. Next to it you will find Dawson Dowel Picnic Park, a playground and basketball court.
On the westerly side of the driveway you there is a marsh area. The remnants of the shipyard where the WD Lawrence was built in the 1800's can be seen poking through the sand on the beach directly in front of the marsh. At low tide you can walk for miles in a westerly direction. Always be Tide Aware!
Across the road from the marsh is the residence of WD Lawrence himself. It is a provincial museum. Directly across from Big Blue is a Ducks Unlimited pond. The sound of the geese and ducks can be heard 24 hours a day! There is a path that circumvents most of the pond. Adjacent to the Lawrence House parking lot there is an observatory where you can linger and watch the shenanigans of the occasional muskrat or possibly a beaver.
The washrooms are accessed through a side door on the verandah of the main house. There are three showers and three toilets. If happen to be missing your "workout" there is a treadmill and exercise bike available to use.
Outdoor fire regulations are strictly adhered to. There is a BBQ available for a small fee.

A working wild blueberry farm nestled in the woods alongside the trans Canada highway. PLEASE NOTE: We have ticks, bears and road noise from the highway.
A small family farm in the making, we raise sheep, ducks, chickens, and rabbits alongside stewarding medicine plants, vineyard and wild blueberries. Wild blueberry season is approximately end of July and we will have picking available for a fee for guests or earn your berries through some labour!
We are building garden beds, a vineyard, fencing systems, and moving animals on to this land. **they aren't here yet but working dogs are**. We follow principles of regenerative agriculture and permaculture and are happy to chat about drainage ditches, ponds, silvopasture or any aspect of farming that might interest the guest.
LOCATION: Conveniently accessed from 2 highway exits both with gas stations. We are 20 minutes to Wentworth Ski/Mountain bike hill, as well as only 20 minutes to Pugwash beaches, farmers market or ATV "Great Trail" Access.
WE ARE CHEMICAL FREE. abundance of biting & beautiful bugs, birds, deer, coyotes & bears. Guests can test their scouting skills while trying to identify as many native species as they can while on site using Merlin or I-naturalist citizen science apps or engage in conversation with their hosts Kevin, Tawny or Caden.

Gloria was a friendly host and the big grassy yard that she offered was a good place to camp near the Bay of Fundy where you could watch the tides come and go.. There’s a nice walking trail from her place to the village of Maitland where we got a very decent dinner at a good price. The bathroom facilities were substandard, not clean, but made available whenever we needed it. Overall, it was a decent experience, although perhaps a bit overpriced.

Great spot with a great view of the effects of the Fundy Bay tidal shift on rivers. The host met us and escorted us to the spot. We parked in a grassy field with beautiful views. We were joined by friends in their own van and it made for a lovely evening.

On a ridgetop site at Glory Ridge, I had a fantastic view over the ocean. Steve and Ann were helpful and welcoming hosts and provided a handout with useful information about wifi, the outdoor shower, trash and recycling. I would stay at Glory Ridge again.

We called ahead and Quinton met us as we drove in and showed us to the site. We had our choice of spots because we were the only ones there. We watched the tidal bore come up the river and a mild sunset in the orchard. Early in the morning, we heard some ruffled grouse calling. A very peaceful stay.

Hi there,
We only needed an overnight stay to keep moving toward our destination, but wow — this place was great! The sea view was amazing, everything was spotless, and we really enjoyed our short stay.
Funny story though… at 6:30 AM I accidentally opened the door to the shed beside us, thinking it was the bathroom. Pretty sure I scared the daylights out a poor lady who was sleeping in there — oops! Maybe a sign at eye level would save future guests (and sleepers) from a surprise wake-up call. 😅
Thanks again for such a wonderful spot — we’ll definitely remember this stay!

I had a fantastic time at this spot and thanks to helmut our host he made it that jeun better. We ended up staying 1.5 days due to the heavy wind and the fire ban (both out of our hosts control) but he was very helpful setting up our tents, providing us with his bbq in his garage to cook and offered us a place through a neighbor friend who wasn’t far either.
I would definitely and highly recommend helmut and this space.
We drive from montreal just to see the ocean and Ute as worth it. Also-the stars at night were amazing. You can really appreciate the clean air, the minimum pollution and traffic in this province and the time and space to connect to nature.
