Our ranch is on Gun Creek Road, close to Tyax Lake, 30 minutes from Gold Bridge and Bralorne. It is about 2 hours west of Lillooet or north of Pemberton (6 hours from Vancouver) on a remote road with paved and gravel sections and no cell service.
There is no cell service or TV at our location. Wi‑Fi is usually available but cannot be guaranteed due to weather and other natural factors outside our control. We have access to a landline if urgent calls need to be made.
You are responsible for leaving the cabin/your room and the area around it clean and free of food and garbage. Each guest is responsible for cleaning the cabins when they leave, such as doing the laundry, washing all dishes. At the end of your stay, please bring all garbage to the main house so we do not attract critters and bears.
We live in a true wilderness environment. The cabin water system uses filtered creek water and, though not common, there is always the possibility for water pressure to fluctuate.
Weather and other variables can change quickly in the mountains. We expect guests to approach challenges with a positive, solution‑oriented mindset and to be respectful of nature, other guests and our team. We are experienced in dealing with nature’s challenges and will find a solution together.

birkenfoodforest a perpetually unfinished art project in co creation with the beings that dwell and visit here along with sweet Mother Earth. Situated within St'at'imc Nation Traditional Territory. On an alluvial fan supporting a wide spectrum of diversity in the transition zone leaving coastal mountain rain forest, on the edge of semi arid. Bordered on the East by the flowing waters of Lakshmi. To the South, historical Portage road and Mars Xing, my neighbours dovetail log cabin, dated 1859 was once known as Johnnies RoadHouse. To the West the flowing waters of Saraswati and beyond the "Labyrinth" of bluffs known as Juniper Ridge rises to the alpine. To the North primary old growth forest housing a web of game trails connecting Birkenhead lake Provincial Park. This land was horse logged in the 50's, a few elder mother trees remain standing. There are many zones and edges. Including eighty year old Douglas Fir, Cedar, Douglas and Vine Maple,Maturing Cherry orchards, thickets of shrubs and herbaceous ones offering flowers and berries to the many birds and bees.In more recent years there has been much terrace work done offering meadows and forested camp spots, along with continued cultivation of perennial and annual foods and medicinals.

Gabe was a great host with an awesome property. He was quick to respond to our questions and was very flexible throughout our stay. The views were incredible, and the site was easy to pull into. We had no trouble parking our 22-foot trailer, and it was level enough that we didn’t need to do any leveling. The location also made a great home base for exploring the mountains or visiting Pemberton and Whistler.

Lovely paddock, just out of town. We had it to ourselves. Pretty painted picnic tables!
Unfortunately, didn't meet Gabe - just drove in and drove out.
Whilst in Pemberton, HIGHLY recommend Blackbird Bakery, next to the info centre. Great coffee and the best almond croissants!

It was only one night: The fiew was beautiful as described. The grass was freshly mowed and very easy to drive on with our RV. The nearby street was less crowded during the night so it was very pleasant for falling asleep.

We were travelling through Pemberton on our way to Whistler on a busy weekend and all the area campgrounds were full. We looked on Hipcamp and found Gabe’s place was 5 minutes away. Gabe was quick to reply to our message and the directions to get there were easy to follow. We spent a quiet peaceful night. Unfortunately the wild fire smoke in the area blocked the beautiful views we saw in the pictures. We were thankful to have the spot.

Lovely little lot just a couple of minutes from Pemberton (Backcountry Pizza has delicious pizza) with a breathtaking view in the evening. No service but as a quick stop before/after Whistler it's perfect. Thanks, Gabe, for being responsive and all friendly before and during our visit!

This was such a beautiful spot to stay for the night in our campervan. The views were amazing and even with two other campers on the land for the night, it was quiet and we used our van to create more privacy. Pemberton and area are gorgeous, it's well worth the trip!

Gabe's property is gorgeous. The mountains, the meadow and the stars we saw were stunning. Gabe was very thoughtful to warn us of an accident that was going to block the road from Whistler for several hours. The road noise is noticeable, but eventually died down and we had a great stay.

We had a lovely night at Gabe’s place. It was a gorgeous sunny day and the view of the mountains, the blooming fields ahead of us on the other side of the simple wood fence was spectacular. On the same field later at dusk a beautiful black bear moseyed by…
The road is close and noisy at times but traffic died down at night.
