RV camp spot within our beautiful orchard, inside our game fence! We can accommodate vehicles up to 45 ft in length and the sites are flat.
Only a 10-minute walk to our farm store, outdoor licensed cafe. We have self guided nature trek trails, 4 Km hike, bat walk, antique trail. We produce lovely wines and spirits which are available for purchase.
Friday nights in the summer you can reserve a spot for our Bootlegger Brisket Dinner, Beef Rib Dinner or Long Table Dinner. We have Wine tasting tours in our orchard you can also make a reservation for. Saturday evening is pizza night and Sunday Ultimate Pancake breakfast, Special events such as night bat walk, UPIK fruit . Check us out online or on Facebook.
Easy to explore the badlands of Alberta from here. Just an hour away from the Royal Tyrrell Dinosaur Museum in Drumheller. Dry Island Buffalo Jump Provincial Park only 15 minutes as the crow flies.
DNA Gardens grows 19 varieties of Saskatoons and is the oldest commercial grower of this berry in the world. At the garden, couples, families, and the like can enjoy fruit picking and plenty of fun!
Campfires are permitted, pets are welcome on a leash. Orchard gates need to be opened and closed at all times. We are a working orchard

At Hillwinds House, it’s all about taking a moment to disconnect from your busy life and reconnect with nature.
Build a fire, read a book, brew some coffee, sweat in the sauna, prepare a nourishing meal, and watch the sun set over the valley in the west.
We are excited to share our Alberta landscape with its beautiful sky, empty fields, and close up nature details.
Hillwinds House is a cozy Nordic-inspired cabin located on the edge of the Meeting Creek valley. The cabin is nestled in the trees on a 5 acre piece of land.
The cabin is completely off-grid with a wood burning stove inside to keep it warm. The kitchenette has everything you need to prepare meals: a gas stovetop, sink with gravity water faucet, and a YETI cooler stocked with ice packs to keep your food cool.
To access the king sized bed in the loft, a sturdy ladder must be climbed (see photo). Loft and ladder are “use at your own risk.”
A wood burning sauna is located just steps from the main house. Walk out on the wrap-around deck and light the fire in the sauna to get your sweat on. During the winter months, a snow bath is recommended for refreshment. (it feels so good!) We also have a handheld shower to rinse off with after the sauna. A wood-burning hot tub bathing area is available for bookings from May to October, and no hot tub is available in the winter months when it is too cold to change the water for each guest.
There is a dry flush toilet inside the cabin (in its own bathroom) so there’s no need to freeze your butt off in an outhouse. Sanitary wipes and hands sanitizer are conveniently located in the bathroom with the wash basin in the nearby kitchen.
As a guest at Hillwinds House, you will have full access to the entire 5 acre property.
Enjoy the spacious deck with valley views, sit in the sauna at dusk and watch the wildlife walk by. (deer, white rabbits, moose, and coyotes)
Put on your snow boots or skis and enjoy the trail that winds down the side of the hill towards the Meeting Creek townsite.
When you book a stay at the cabin, we’ll send you a welcome booklet with a list of our favourite places to go and things to do locally. We’ll be a few miles away on our farm if you need anything during your stay at Hillwinds House.

Located in the Summer Village of Gull Lake, Alberta, this beautiful and unique spot has all the amenities you need. The property is a 3-minute walk to the water and beaches. Nearby, you'll find the famous Dutch “Wooden Shoe” store/restaurant/bakery, an amazing little store, and its famous ice cream shop you have to visit.
Pik & Pak Fresh Vegetables is a 30-second walk from the property and is open 24/7. They offer fresh lettuce, cucumbers, tomatoes, carrots, microgreens, beets, apples, oranges, pears, potatoes, peppers, eggs, honey, gelato, pies, pizzas, chips, salsa, and much more. Great store! Local goodness!
There are 2 parks with tennis, paddleball, basketball, golf frisbee, badminton, horseshoes, gym, swings, and slides. Mini golf is across the road, and there are lots of walking trails and a burger and fries stand a 12-minute walk down the beach.
The Property
If you thought the village sounds amazing, check out the property! It is 1 acre and very private, with a 7-foot fence around 3/4 of the property and an open field at the back with horses. There are over 6 outdoor sitting areas, including decks, grass, a sandy beach, and beautiful flowers and trees. You'll enjoy the sight of squirrels, birds, wildlife, and the horses out back.

• 20’ Yurt: Fully equipped with 2 king-size mattresses, chairs, nightstands, water, and snacks.
• 420 Trailer: A fully powered 44’ 5th wheel trailer, fully stocked and converted into a 420 trailer with a blackout living room with tapestries, curtains, black light, and a stereo. The trailer has 1 bedroom, a couch, a day bed, a big full kitchen, and a bathroom with electricity and warm water. Note that there is no indoor toilet; the outdoor kitchen has hot water, and there is an outhouse out back.

• Outdoor Full Kitchen/Bar: Running hot/cold water, fridges, BBQ, and a sit-around fire table.
• Private Beach: Swings, hammock, pyramid, small volleyball, badminton area, and a small fire pit.

• Outdoor Shower: With hot water and an outhouse for the bathroom.
• Hot Tub and Cold Tub: There is a 2-man hot tub with a cold tub for a cold plunge or hot tub use. This is a $75 add-on and requires 36 hours' notice.

Check-In and Nearby Amenities
Check-in is at 3 pm, but you can come earlier if you want to rent the water toys and hang at the beach, walk the village, or play mini-golf until check-in. There’s lots to do here, and you can possibly rent toys on the check-out date too.
Bentley is a 10-minute drive with a full grocery store and restaurants. Lacombe is 15 minutes away with all amenities.
Note: No drinking is allowed, but smoke as much as you want. Please respect the village; it’s a small, quiet family village ♡

We had a very peaceful and relaxing weekend. Loved having a sauna every day and all the little extra comforts of the cabin that are provided. A lot of personal touches that add to the stay - coffee, tea, water ready to go, portable shower, plenty of firewood. All these things helped us just be able to relax and unwind.

We had an amazing stay at this campsite just minutes from Sylvan Lake. Being on a farm made it such a unique and memorable experience, and the setting was peaceful yet close to everything. The hosts were wonderful and welcoming, speaking French, English, and even some Spanish, which added to the charm. Booking through Hipcamp was such a smooth and amazing experience. We’d love to come back again and would highly recommend this spot to friends and family!

Peaceful escape to the country where you can pick fruit, watch bats, have a drink and lunch at the cafe, peruse the store, grab ice cream, participate in their brisket dinner, pizza night, or pancake breakfast. Or just walk around the property admiring the flowers, watching ground squirrels, woodpeckers, bluebirds, and golden finches. Staff of the orchard are friendly and owner Dave is knowledgeable and happy to share his wisdom. They book land on a few different apps so you may have neighbours but it’s still secluded.

I’m a bit hesitant to give a great review, afraid that more people will discover this hidden gem. I really want this to be our little secret. We’re big campers, and this was definitely one of the best camping trips we’ve ever had. Watching the sunset over the haskap orchard was breathtaking, and then the bluebirds put on an incredible song and dance show.
Our little 2-year-old absolutely loved it too!

The photos were a little misleading with how close we were to the families house, but they were very friendly, welcoming and we honestly forgot they were there for the most part. The area got lots of sun and because of the way we set up our tents, the foliage and their garage, there was lots of privacy. Jean also let us feed his 12 day old cow so that was really fun.
