Living close to Georgian Bay, I’ve always wanted a waterfront property and I always believed in my heart that I will be blessed with one someday. After our family’s first camping trip to Manitoulin Island, my husband and I fell in love with “Spirit Island” and decided to find our own special place. Around Thanksgiving weekend of 2019, after several trips back and viewing a dozen properties, our search for a land was finally over and our wish came true. God was and is indeed faithful and in His own sweet time, has blessed us with a beautiful land. It has been quite a journey and with God’s grace, our place has been such a Sweet Oasis! It is our hope and prayer that we can share our blessings of this land to everyone who loves nature and respect God’s awesome creations! 😊 Sweet Oasis is a private camping get away. The place is nice. Very quiet. One hiccup we had no hydro for the 4 days we were there. Hydro line was malfunctioning and needed a electrician to come fix it. A good thing we had our generator, extra fuel on board. Hopefully next time things will be better.
Ps Not a swimming spot! just paddle boarding or kayaking if you don't mind marsh waters to get to bigger waters to swim.

Thank you for the lovely stay Sherri. The camp was spacious, beautiful, and peaceful. Our dogs had room to roam off leash and we didn't need to worry about them. This gave my husband and I time to unwind and be stress free. We especially enjoyed the sunset and sunrise. They were spectacular at your camp. The only thing we should have changed was that we should have stayed longer!

We took our truck camper to Sweet Oasis and weren’t disappointed at all with the view! Spacious and fairly private. The properties around are long and narrow so the neighbours are quite close but hidden by lots of foliage! It did seem like the neighbours were having a party a couple of the nights we were there so I might be mindful of that if you’re looking for a quiet getaway…The water was lovely (I’d recommend water shoes as it’s quite rocky) we had a nice dip and took out the SUP board. Great way to cool off! Liza was extremely responsive and kind and would highly recommend a stay!!

The campground/resort is very cozy with cabins & a trailer scattered throughout the property. The Chickadee campsite was wonderful - right next to the woods, with its own private path to the river (a lovely spot for morning coffee in the sun). Also close to the (very clean and un-smelly) outhouse/vault toilet, shower, and water tap. Good mix of sun and shade. And power! Access to the beach across the street was incredible! Also within walking distance of the town. Deanne was a warm and welcoming host. Really felt at home here. Honestly couldn't have asked for anything more! :)

My wife and I absolutely loved our time at Sweet Oasis. Sweet Oasis offers a beautiful view of the sunrise and a perfect view of the night sky. The Chickadee Rest campsite was lovely, we lucked out and had the area to ourselves. We enjoyed being surrounded by trees with access to the creek from our campsite. The shower was clean with plenty of hot water and the owners are working on building a washroom beside the shower. The campground is across the street from a large, beautiful beach. The town is small but there is a great fish and chip restaurant within easy walking distance. We really enjoyed our stay, and the owners were kind and welcoming.

A nice quiet spot on shore of large lake in southern part of the island so close to ferry crossing. Site is large with many private spots with porch swings or tables and chairs in addition to huge open space. Shoreline is rocky but once past that, water does drop off so nice for swimming at that point. Huge lake would be great for windsurfing once out a little bit.

Lakepoint Camp was our dream come true. We wanted to be by water and in nature.
And wow did it deliver!
We hopped along rocks in the sun and enjoyed listening to the changing sound of the waves. We sat on the shoreline rocks in the evening and watched the sun set. We retreated under the big old cedars and appreciated their size and the shade they gave in the heat. The little bay off the point where the campsite is was perfect for swimming and we loved watching the light reflected in the water and the wind changing on the surface. It was totally private. The only sounds were of sandhill cranes (our morning alarm) Canada geese, loons, frogs, chickadees etc.
At the same time there were many comforts: soft woodchipped areas to set up tents and walk around on, a beautiful stone fireplace made with stone from the area, an outhouse, a parking lot to pull our cars close so our food was handy, and a town 12 minutes drive away to refresh ice and groceries. We loved the nearby walking trail at Fossil Hill - also only a short drive away. There were so many trails around the island we only made it to one other but it was also wonderful.

I spent two nights here and really enjoyed my stay. Hosts were excellent with communication and very welcoming upon my arrival.
Site is very well clean and well-maintained and backs up to the Mindemoya River, with a nicely cleared path, providing access down to the river if you so desire. The entire camping area was mowed and hook ups were easy to use, with trash and recycling receptacles right at my site.
The hosts are the newest generation to manage and operate this business which has been in the family for several generations. In addition to the camping site, there are cabin sites, as well. They are modernizing and upgrading and doing a good job of it, from what I could see. The shower area was clean and modern with good hot water and good water pressure.
Chickadee’s Rest and the other two similar sites were adjacent to, but separate from the cabin areas, giving a safe, peaceful feel.
Fulford’s is within probably 100 meters or less from the boardwalk at the Providence Bay Beach. When I arrived, they shared with me that it was a great place to watch the sunset over the bay. It is also walking distance to pretty much everything in Providence Bay. I found it to be a right central location for my time exploring various areas of Manitoulin Island. House went above and beyond to be helpful and accommodating to me, and if I ever return to the island, you can be certain that I will plan to stay with them again.

2 nights at Spring Bay Bunkie... Lot 20
I was impressed, the place had about everything you need for cooking, then some. Loads of chairs and loungers of various types. The lake is a limestone shelf (Alvar) that drops off very very slowly, you have to go quite far out to get to your waist, but be mindful of the waves, dont turn your back on them as a general rule. The water was clear and cold, but not frigid, the perfect type of cold on a summer day, you can stay in for hours. A general store is up the street about 6 mins for any needs. To be picky, the bunkie only needs one thing, a solar powered roof vent, it trapped a lot of heat during the day. It was hot at night. But this is just a trivial nitpick. I've done a lot of Hipcamps all over North America, this is one of the top 3.
I would like to go back again.
