Twisted Oak Site (Water/Electric)
Great campsite.
We had a great stay. Mason was extremely helpful and super responsive. Unfortunately it rained the entire time we were there but still, we had everything we needed. The only thing was that the campsite was quite a bit smaller than we expected. We originally expected to have about 5-6 tents and a few cars, but ended up only having one person camp and one car. But we probably would've been able to only comfortably fit a few cars and a few tents at most, so just something to consider. Otherwise, would definitely recommend.

Awesome site with great sunset view
We'll-equipped campsite with nice little trails, and a gorgeous view for sunsets! Loved having the Porto-John right conveniently located. All around great place to stay!

Happy Family Retreat
We loved tent camping at Tall Oaks on Grouseland! Mason met us at the store and took us to our campsite. Beautiful!! Such a great view, loved having a hammock and all the basics plus firewood and trash bins all available.
While there is a porta-potty at the site, there are showers and a toilet back at the shop near the camp entrance. Loved having a nice hot shower before starting our adventures for the day.
Thank you for the lovely stay, Mason! We look forward to returning some time!

Aspen RV Campsite (Water/Electric)
Charming and away from it all
What a lovely experience! Host could not have been more pleasant and willing to help out with little extras that we could have needed. We loved the little gems along the trails. I am not going to spoil it, you have to see for yourself. This will be one of our places to keep on our "let's get away this weekend" list!

Needs improvement on privacy
I’ll start with Mason, 10/10 great guy. Very helpful, quick responses & helped up as soon as he could.
On our second night at camp, there was a matter of people on the site that were not campers. 2-3 people with lights and a dog that seemed to be nearing our site. They didn’t respond to calling out, in hopes they identified themselves & followed that by cutting out their lights in a manner that suggested they were communicating with each other. Graduating the situation from sketchy to one that required us to leave the site immediately.
All this to say that I think with this many trails and this much property it’s clearly difficult to maintain boundaries and property lines. But that’s exactly what needs to be done. Our group didn’t feel comfortable with the location for the remains of that night and decided to leave in a bit of a hurry.

We really enjoyed our weekend at the Aspen campsite . Beautiful views , so easy to set up camper on level site . The little camp ground is so well thought out . Neat little touches and great hikes and games for all ages . We will definitely be back .

Spacious site with amazing overlook
Beautiful view!! Site was easily accessible and great location for our 26’ trailer. Hookups were easy and the site came with many awesome features. The bistro lights were a favorite! Mason was a great host and super helpful. There were plenty of trails on the property and we look forward to visiting again and exploring more of the area :)

Red Maple Campsite (Water/Electric)
Our Trailer fit!
We have a 33 foot Trailer and we were able to back it in and get it leveled easily. The site was huge and the view was beautiful. It’s away from other sites, so it feels private, quiet and serene. We walked the trails and had a great time. Amenities were similar to a state park but even more touches like dog leads and chess/checker pieces. They also had porta potties for each site that were well maintained.

Red Maple Campsite (Water/Electric)
Managed to camp here during peak fall foliage - just gorgeous! The campsite is perfectly situated at an overlook and is extremely well maintained. The campsite felt private and secluded from the other sites, and the overhead string lights were a game changer. Two "private" port-o-potties were provided (each campsite is designated their own), as well as a flush toilet and shower at the camp store.
We took a 0.5 mile walk around the property and loved seeing the chicken coops, games garden, etc. There's so much care and attention to detail; it's obvious the owners are passionate about creating a fun, relaxing environment for people to sit back and enjoy nature. We'll definitely be back!

Camping with a Great View
Grouse Land is a great place to camp. There are just a few other sites but spaced far enough apart so there is no issue. Water, electric and clean bathroom available was definitely a plus. We look forward to visiting again next season.

View from Red Maple site is extraordinary. Property is amazing. Also, only 25 min drive from the Western Maryland Rail Trail. Did a beautiful family bike ride. Mason was an excellent host and met us upon our arrival to give us an overview. Will be returning for sure. Kids (10 and 5) had a blast.

Twisted Oak
The view was great but the campsite says it can fit 12 guests and it can barely fit 7. The terrain was very unlevel and rocky making it hard to sleep. Cars also drive up and down the road right next to the site to go from the other campsites which are closer than expected to each other.

We came here last year and loved it so much that we came back! They've improved an already really nice campsite. It's nice to have a spigot and a power outlet. The bulb lights give it a real glamping vibe!

Tall Oaks Campsite
Mason's campground was such a perfect hidden gem to find! My boyfriend and I spent the weekend at the tall oaks campsite and we had such a wonderful time! To start, Mason met us & took us to our campsite, gave us info & a map with all the trails & things to see which was very helpful to us. Our campspot had plenty of room and seating for at least 4 other people. We were supplied with a good amount of firewood, a grill for cooking, and a hammock. The view from our spot was just breathtaking, honestly the best view I've ever had camping. We walked around most of the property & every campsite seemed to have an amazing view. Besides the campsite, we spent almost an entire day just exploring everything on the property since there was so much to see. There was a great scenic overlook with a little swing on the property near the solar farm where we went and watched the stars at night. In the day time there were many butterflies up near the farm & chickens I enjoyed visiting with. There were yard games like horseshoes and corn hole, we played checkers in the game garden for a while and then visited the awesome tree house a little further down and just relaxed & looked at the wildlife all around. Also appreciated the bath house which was very clean & well stocked with supplies you may need and the communal water and electrical spot on the property as well! There was so much care & love put into this piece of land and we would love to come back again with friends!

Tall Oaks Campsite
Very nice and private campsites with a beautiful view of the valley. The facilities at the site were all top notch and we even got to break in our new fire ring (worked just fine Mason). The trails are nicely maintained with cool surprises like games and a truly awesome treehouse for meditation and nature watching. The on-site outhouses were clean and well maintained and the bathroom/shower at the camp store was as well and was greatly appreciated.
This is exactly why I joined Hip Camp. Experiencing various beautiful properties that owners are willing to share, and all have respect for the land, the nature and the privacy of an intimate camping experience differentiates Grouseland from MANY other campgrounds. We will definitely return, and we have our eye on a stay at the cabin also.
