Lake Access Rustic Cabin w/ Hot Tub
What a beautiful land- truly grateful for the opportunity to stay at Big Rock Eco Resort. Thank you to Jason and Susie for being wonderful hosts. The Cabin itself was beautiful and has more than enough amenities to enjoy a stay comfortably. Directions were clear and easily understood. The experience was very peaceful and enjoyable, literally so quiet out there. Lots of trails to explore and we were able to skate on the lake and the hot tub was a big bonus. A big thank you to Rocky and Jason, who helped my guarded dog socialize so he could enjoy some play with a pup friend! We all had an amazing time, will be returning in the near future!

What a wonderful time away where it felt that time stood still in the midst of falling leaves and glorious rays of sunshine. Jason and Susie ensured to meet all needs with prompt responses and, when needed, support. We enjoyed viewing the property, a peaceful boat ride and, of course, the accommodations. We didn't want to leave. A true bucket filling experience where we left feeling relaxed and grateful. Only regret is not booking an extra day.

I loved our stay with my wife and my dog at one of the tents. Jason was very kind and helped us to bring our stuff to the place with a small car. The place is simply the best we have ever been to. We really loved it and will come back soon!

We stayed at the lakeside dome for two nights and loved every moment. It was peaceful, well maintained and had everything we needed. When we arrived Jason, the owner, and Rocky his very friendly dog came to greet us. He gave us a tour of the property and the other sites and answered any questions we had. We also went on a tour of the lake which was beautiful. He was very passionate and knowledgeable about the area and reccomepnded places we could go. 100/10 could not reccomend enough. We will definitely be coming back!

Amazing Stay – Pet Friendly & Great

Forest Tent Site (Upper North)
We stayed at Jason and Suzy’s property from last Saturday until Tuesday, and we had an amazing time! The place is very pet-friendly, which was perfect since we brought our dog along.
The campsite had everything we needed: firewood available, potable water, and showers on-site. Jason and Suzy were incredibly attentive and helpful throughout our stay.
We enjoyed a fun boating activity where we went all the way to an island – such a beautiful experience! There were also options for kayaking and boating, which made the trip even more special.
If you’re looking for a peaceful and welcoming place with great hosts and activities on the water, this is definitely the spot! We would love to come back.

Forest Tent Site (South Side)
The hospitality was too tier! Between the round abouts to check in to see if we needed anything, the delivery of wood, the water delivery to the extensive boat trip to an island to swim for a few hours! I HIGHLY recommend booking with Jason and Susie!

We had a wonderful and relaxing weekend! Jason and Susie were incredibly friendly and welcoming hosts—truly grateful for their hospitality. The campsite was beautiful, quiet, and surrounded by trees, offering a peaceful and private setting. Jason even offered us the option to stay at another site, which was a thoughtful touch. Using the canoes was a fantastic bonus and made for a memorable experience on the water. Highly recommend this spot for anyone looking to unplug and enjoy nature!

My wife and I had an amazing two-night stay at the Lakeside Dome at Big Rock Eco Retreat. The whole experience was peaceful, memorable, and incredibly well-hosted. Jason, the owner, was fantastic—very responsive and helpful throughout our stay. He took us on an ATV tour of the property, gave us a boating lesson, and took us out on the lake. We also enjoyed the company of his energetic, well-trained dog, Rocky. If you’re looking for a top-notch glamping experience in a dome, this is the place to go. There’s also a beautiful Hillside Dome on the property that we got to check out, and it looked just as amazing. The 3-hour drive from the GTA was absolutely worth it!

Beautiful area. We stayed in the lakeside dome which is being set up for accessibility. We got a tour of the dome on the hill. Next trip we will use that one. Very private, amazing views. Hot tub at both makes for a relaxing romantic stay. Owner was very responsive for any questions or issues and resolved quickly.

We absolutely loved staying at Susie and Jason's dome in the woods. Jason met us upon arrival and drove us through the property to the dome. He spent a good amount of time going over everything to make sure we were comfortable and knew how to operate the pellet stove and water. We happened to arrive the day a huge snow storm was coming, so the scenery was beautiful. No better place to be to hunker down! The dome was comfortable and clean. The kitchen had all the necessities.
Beds and pillows were excellent. The loft bed even has dual remotes so you and you partner can adjust it according to your likes. Hot tub was awesome to have a soak in at night under the stars. Added bonus was how the surrounding forest was dimmly lit up with black lights at night. All in all our time here was awesome. The only recommendation I would give the hosts is to make sure the dome is heated upon the guest's arrival. We will be back again for sure! Thanks for a great mid-week getaway from the kids!

We truly enjoyed staying Big Rock Eco retreat.
Jason was super helpful and accommodating. We packed and left the city in the afternoon Friday rush and forgot a few key items. Jason being a super host, came in handy and made sure we had a great and smoothest experience possible.
The resort territory is clean and beautiful. Kayaks a free to use and the lake was warm so we went for a swim on Saturday!
We will definitely come back, thinking of ice fishing now! I recommend this resort for both single and family campers.

This particular site would be great for new campers wanting to experience camping. It is not actually in the forest but abutts it. The site is flat for pitching your tent however, make sure of placement away from the hillside as the water will shed directly to your tent if it rains heavily. The siting of the campsite and the hillside trees offer some shade to keep your tent cooler.

Jason and Susie were exceptional hosts. Jason took great care of us, making sure we got enough wood and water. When we first arrived, Jason took us on a tour of the property in his side-by-side which was really awesome. They take a lot of pride in their property and it shows. It's really easy to get to (make sure you go through Madoc) and Jason has everything set up so you don't need to bring too much (just food and booze). Would love to stay in the dome next time!

Lake Access Rustic Cabin w/ Hot Tub
This was a perfect winter weekend away! The rustic cabin looked just like the pictures - the woodfire stove kept us toasty warm! There was lots to do on-site - we brought skis, snowshoes, and skates and used them all! Jason was a wonderful host - he even cleared the ice on the lake making a skating rink for the kids! He was always available to answer questions and help as needed. We look forward to seeing the place again in the summer season.

My wife and I booked this site last minute as other plans fell through along our road trip. Jason contacted me before I arrived to ensure I had a smooth drive to the park with no surprises . He met us at the front entrance and took us over to see the site , after chatting for a little bit about the fact that we would be taking off early he offered us another site that was more accommodating to our needs . Both sites were absolutely gorgeous. Jason and Susie were super friendly and easy going , the lake was was beautiful, the fishing was good. I would highly recommend. Will return with the kiddos , definitely a family friendly park!

Jason is the single most accommodating and respectful host I've ever had. I asked him if the local marina sold bug spray, and he just gave me a can. He even offered to take me and my son out on the water to an island to clif jump. The campsite was beautiful and I've never seen more stars in my life. My only gripe was the lack of recycle and garbage bins, but other than that small issue, this is the best camping I've ever done.
