Explore 100+ acres of forest via hiking trails and logging roads. 4 kms from famous Martinique Beach Provincial Park with 5 km of white sand and surf. Solid safe roads and clean parking areas from where you can enjoy camp fires, star gazing, winter ocean views, and explore the diverse landscape. Free firewood available. Sounds of of nature are everywhere from the lowlands to the highlands. There is also a path to Petpeswick Inlet. Coastal rains fall directly on our plateau and flow down to your campsite while forming small streams, ponds, waterfalls and springs. The amazing upland blanket bog distinguishes this property from many others and is a naturalist's wonderland. Connected to 300 acres of protected wilderness area and the Musquodoboit Harbour Bird and Game Sanctuary. Almost every species of wildlife and plant can be found in this pristine Acadian boreal forest. Highest elevations within 8 km of beach. There's also plenty to explore in nearby Musquodoboit Harbour including spectacular, well maintained hiking and biking trails, farmer's market, public library, cafes and more. If you're looking to connect with nature, while being close to surf and civilization, you've reached the right destination on the Eastern Shore. For maximum peace and tranquility consider booking both sites and have the entire property to yourself.

A small hidden oasis

Two small gravel sites up a small driveway. Could have used some weeding and tending - a bit after peak season. Nicely appointed with some solar lights, chairs, and steel wheel fire pits. No sea view but GREAT star views, and a couple miles from a quiet and fantastic public park sand beach.

Serene spot in the pines

Dans hipcamp was a perfect spot to roll into after a long drive from VT. We stayed 3 nights n could easily have stayed longer but for the urge to explore other parts of the coast. It’s near the beach and services in Petpeswick and has trails to explore also. Dan is the best ever communicator I’ve experienced with any Hipcamp or AirBnB reservation! Would definitely stay again.

Good spot for the night!

Enjoyed my one night at Dan's place. Due to an error on my part, I went to the opposite side (west) of the river, but fortunately he was quick to respond when I called to ask for directions to the correct spot. Was easy to find once I set the correct GPS coordinates, and after driving up a steep hill there was plenty of room to set up in a fairly level spot. I enjoyed talking for a while with Dan as he greeted me, telling me a bit about the mining history of the area -he was very gracious and easygoing. The spot was quiet at night and I slept well.

Fantastic Location for Surfers!

Dan was amazing communicating everything to us clearly. His place is very comfortable, and even had chairs, a table and fire pit set up. Beautiful place to watch the sunset, and so close to a great surf beach! If your a travelling surfer, you can’t beat this.

Just what we needed.

Basic gravel lot, easy to access. We threw a tent up on some wood chips. The fire pit is nice to have. It’s a good idea to bring dry wood if you can, most of the wood onsite was pretty wet, but we got it to burn eventually. Wild raspberries and blackberries were a great perk!
