Learn more about this land: Beautiful cleared lot overlooking Barney’s River and a large interval with plenty of wildlife. Minutes from Northumberland Strait and beautiful Big Island BeachSite has access to River for Kayak or canoe launch which leads into Merigomish Harbour. Walking distance to convenience store and NSLC outlet. Easy drive to Cape George ( The Mini Trail ) and close to New Glasgow or Antigonish. We have beautiful orchards and blueberry fields, if you are here in July or August you can probably pick blueberries for breakfast. There is excellent biking and hiking nearby. The site has beautiful views of the surrounding area and very peaceful and quiet. You will have access to drinking water but no bathroom facilities. We are located between New Glasgow and Antigonish along the beautiful shore road called Route 245. Also, 10 minutes from TCH heading to Cape Outhouse available. Bring all trash out that you bring in

Alan's place was quiet, very close to Big Island beach and a perfect place to have a little getaway! Alan was very accommodating, made amazing recommendations, and let us pick some of his lovely, fresh blueberries which was a great surprise. We will no doubt be back at some point :)

This was a great place to camp. Alan greeted us and showed us to our lot. The lot was very private and quiet.

What a beautiful property! The host met us and took us to the spot overlooking a marsh and river. He also directed us to the water and firewood. The site is quiet and secluded—saw a deer, bear and bald eagle in the morning.

Oaks Park is a beautiful, well-maintained, and wildly romantic overnight spot surrounded by nature. The host, Alan, is extremely friendly and helpful. A sea eagle has its nest nearby. It was raining heavily when we arrived. However, the site is easily accessible, even with two-wheel drive.

Alan's property is beautiful, and I had a wonderful, somewhat secluded site to myself. I came later in the season so I could hopefully have more privacy and I was not disappointed. He's a great host and interesting person. I even got to sample fresh apples right from his trees! I told him the taste of those apples was worth my whole trip :-) I did have one hiccup with my car while I was there. Alan took a look and quickly pointed out the problem, much to my great relief, because I was imagining it taking days for AAA to get to me. It was something so simple that I won't even admit to it here lol.

We loved the private campground at Alan's and his fabulous blueberries. The place is very pretty and Alan is a friendly host. We would come again.

Alan gave us a very warm welcome. We really enjoyed the quiet spot in the countryside with a fireplace and a view of the river. The blueberries from his garden were amazing. Thank you for the nice conversation and for letting us stay here. We can highly recommend Alan as a host and the campsite.

I stayed for one night on my way to Cape Breton and enjoyed the site, Alan was very friendly and helpful. The large flat grassy clearing surrounded by forest gave us some privacy and was more than big enough for our two tents and a car. The chairs and table that were provided at the site were very appreciated and gave a great view for the sunset.

We enjoyed one night at this quiet nice place and saw a lot of wildlife such as rabbits, deer, beaver. Alan is a wonderful and welcoming host and if we didn‘t have other plans, we‘d have loved to stay for longer!

We loved the campsite from Alan, he is wonderful. We can pick fresh appels and became firewood. The campsite has a beautiful view.

Loved Alan’s little spot! It’s private without being too far off the beaten path. Alan was wonderful to check us in and make sure we were settled. The area itself is great also! There’s a little community convenience store with everything you may need within a few minutes. Big island, Steinhart distillery, Knoydart cheese farm and Arisaig Park & Beach all within 15 mins so lots to do for the whole family! There’s tons to do in the area and Alan’s place is a great home base. We didn’t get a chance to pick blueberries but there is a U-pick on his property if you’re there the right time of year! Thanks Alan!

Beautiful private spot! Lots of blueberries! Alan was most helpful with the area. He suggested a bike ride to big island beach, what a gem! We had a short but great stay!

Absolutely amazing little slice of paradise! Alan was incredibly attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. The space is secluded, private and safe. We watched the sunset and had a perfect fire. Would highly recommend to others and look forward to booking again.
