Walnut Hills Family Campground is a family campground on 42 acres in Durand, Michigan, between Flint and Lansing and an easy drive from metro Detroit. The park is built around a spring-fed swim lake with a sand beach and a 14-piece Wibit floating water park, one of the largest at any Michigan campground, plus a Kangaroo Jumper for the kids. The Shiawassee River runs along the campground. Launch your own canoe or kayak from the boat launch by the camp store, or book a canoe, kayak or tube trip with Cheff's Canoe Rental. Choose from full-hookup 50-amp sites (many 70 to 80 feet long, fitting rigs up to 45 feet), water/electric sites including lakefront sites with beach access, primitive tent sites, and two rustic camping cabins. Every site has a fire pit and picnic table. Families also enjoy a fenced dog park, a camp store, and themed events most summer weekends, highlighted by three Halloween weekends each fall with a haunted trail and trick-or-treating on closed campground roads. Arrival is quick: our license-plate gate lets you drive straight to your site with no office stop. Quiet hours are 11 PM to 8 AM, and kids and bikes are back at their sites by dusk, so evenings stay family-friendly. Open May 1 to October 20.

No pets are allowed in the cabins, and they cannot be tied to a tree or left unattended. Thank you for your cooperation.
