We loved site 1. Tucked just off the beach. Bathroom was very clean. Picnic table is in need of repair. I'm physically challenged and I could walk to he beach. It's a magical place.

This was a beautiful site. The sunsets were amazing with a great beach. Site #2 is secluded and although you have to walk a little it isn't far to carry supplies

Unbelievably gorgeous
This place is absolutely phenomenal. Book it now and try to get site 2. The sound of the waves on the lake are very soothing. Quick 5 minute walk on the road to the beach. The beach is feels secluded because there isn't much traffic to the area. Never heard any noise from the legs inn and it was quite busy while we were there. Would certainly stay there again!

Beautiful spot!
We loved camping here. The site was beautiful and we had a view of the lake. The only other site was vacant so we had the whole area to ourselves. It was a few minutes walk to the beach. The site and porta-potty were very clean. It was peaceful, serene and all you needed for simple camping. Would definitely stay again!

This campsite has it all! Beautiful view, nice layout. Big enough for a medium sized camper and a tent. Beach is amazing shallow water and a little "outlet creek" for the kids to play in.

Small and secluded
Perfect little hideaway. Shared my breakfast with a little squirrel. Close enough to the water yet shady and out of the sun.

I love the camping! Site is really nice but definitely too close to cabins and the restaurant. Very close to the beautiful empty beach, beautiful sunsets!

Fourth of July Weekend Camping
A nice spot on Lake Michigan. There isn’t direct access to the lake, but the public beach is a super short walk from the campsites. We stayed in site 2, and it was the more secluded of the two. Site 1 was closer to the parking/road, but it looked bigger. It wasn’t the most quiet camping spot—the road to the public access beach was fairly well trafficked but not used at night. Most nights were somewhat loud though with guests of the cabins nearby partying on the beach, but you can’t expect much else during Fourth of July weekend, I suppose. Overall, it was a nice location and we would stay again.

Site 2 - Lakeside Rustic Camping
Great site, great spo and great sunsets, but not terribly well marked or maintained. Became confusing who had what site.. Could definitely benefit from better markings. If you’re coming, bring something to cut grass with as it’s quite overgrown in this spot. Also, bug spray is a must because it is swampy and there are lots of mosquitoes.

This was the second time I’ve stayed at the Lakeside Rustic Camping site #2 owned by the Little Traverse Bay Band. The site was perfect for quiet tent camping right next to Lake Michigan. The porta-john was very clean. I will definitely camp there again when I’m in the area.

Site 2 - Lakeside Rustic Camping
This is a slice of purr Michigan Heaven. Not for the uppity type as there is no running water, electricity or service. The way camping should be. Site 2 required an exciting run over planks that could be challenging for some or a constant thrill for those young at heart. Simply adding to the unique experience. One warning is watch out for the racoon. It steals wallets, bread and corn! Thank you to whomever our host was for the opportunity to make this our home for a few nights. I will never forget it.

Views Like None Other
I loved the site and views. The site was cleaned when we arrived and free firewood was provided for our cold nights; which was a huge help. A nice man even came to fix a table leaf coming off of our picnic table before our stay was over. Thank you to him! Overall I would give this a 9/10, only because site 2 is slightly close and you can overhear the other guests at times, and space for vehicles is limited but big enough for two. that’s all being overly nit-picky. Perfect for tent camping and hammocks with loved ones. Everyone around seemed friendly and kept their privacy, except for the raccoons!

Friends & Campfires
This campsite was really cool. It’s right on Lake Michigan. It’s VERY rustic & grass is high and bugs are happy you arrived. We set up camp right on the beach and even started a fire. (Not sure if this was aloud but we were the only campers there.) We walked through the grass to a walkout/dock to get over the creek to the beach/Lake Michigan. It was unclear if this was part of the Hipcamp property but there was a path from the campsite to this dock. (This was the only way to get to the beach due to a creek.) There is 2 campsites in this property both with a fire-pit and picnic table. Site 2 is closer to the beach. The Porta-Potty was very clean and well maintained. Overall this campsite was really cool and I would recommend it.

Picture Perfect
If you’re looking for a secluded, very private, beautiful and bare bones experience, this is it! The pictures don’t do it justice. We found ourselves at a cozy little tent site (#2), in a wooded area with a picnic table, a fire ring, and a spotless shared porta-loo (a comfortable distance from the site) and with a beach view. Site #2 is accessed by crossing a makeshift plank wood walkway over a magical mossy marsh. For those trying to decide, #1 is closer to the low traffic road and more easily accessed with a dirt path and parking directly next to the site. Site #2 has a beach view. The beach is also accessed by crossing a marsh via a more substantial wooden bridge. The lengthy white sand beach was stunning, with rich diversity - rocks, shells, plants, and birds and, as promised, magnificent sunsets. We give it our highest recommendation! We visited on the weekend before Memorial Day. There’s a public access beach not far from the sites. The area may be much busier in the summer than our experience.

Campsite #1 was awesome!
Awesome experience! We stayed at Campsite #1 and found it very easy to get to and while close to the road and cabins behind Legs Inn, it was still quite private. We had easy walk to the beach and were very close to the "very clean" port-a-John. Picnic table, fire pit and plenty of room with plenty of privacy. Thanks so much!!

Peacefully seclud
The campsite was actually very nice. A bit smaller but we were able to get three tens up within the given space. Picnic table on site was provided and even a couple bundles of wood to help start a great weekend! The best part of the site of course is being literary 40-50 feet away from Michigans beautiful lake. All you can hear is wind and the clash of sublte waves during the day as well as at night. Theres a portable potty on site which was very clean and seriously no awful smells or anything like that. The only small minor item on the site is how you get to campsite 2. You have to cross a few planked boards across a shallow marsh which is fine, brings a very secluded feeling towards the experience but the issue is that one pieces of the plank has a section where you can fall into the marsh. A few of us ended up with some soaked socks and shoes but other than that the campsite is pretty nice. Id recommend this site to others as ill be back next year forsure.

A very cool little spot right by the beach, with a near-spotless port-a-potty and a great view of the night sky. Nice if you'd like to have a little more privacy than nearby Wilderness State Park, and you still get the dark sky view.
