Saw Mill BnB Suite
Felt like I was staying with my favorite Aunt 'n Uncle -- who, no matter what, would welcome and treat me with comfort and care. The farm suite...was impressively better than what I had anticipated. Our family had planned to play on the slopes in Caberfae and this was the perfect place to be situated for that. Will definitely return! It is a gem, for sure.

This was such a great stay! Probably the best hipcamp experience we’ve had yet. Breakfast was absolutely delicious. The animals were very entertaining and the hosts were so friendly. I would definitely recommend this site!

A delightful find!
Awesome affordable couples getaway! We were greeted by a sign welcoming us by name, followed by a farm tour in the evening. The room was clean and inviting with beautiful views of the farm. We loved seeing the sheep, pigs, as well as the barn cat and dog. Dan & Arlene were so friendly and accommodating. The breakfast, two meat & veggie omelets, fresh coffee, toast and jam, and a yogurt & granola parfait, was absolutely wonderful on the patio. Overall, we would highly recommend this stay.

Perfect Getaway!
Staying at Dan and Arlene’s was a truly wonderful experience. The cabin is spacious and comfortable with a view of their beautiful farm. The breakfasts are a true highlight-absolutely delicious, and we loved eating on the deck each morning and watching the sheep! The land and farm are peaceful and serene, lovely to explore. Close to bike paths including the rail trail, hiking, kayaking and anything you’d want to do. After busy days outside we ended each night with a bonfire and s’mores.
Dan and Arlene were kind and thoughtful hosts who think of every detail and provide a wonderful experience-we can’t recommend enough!

Farm stay with forest feel <3
My first stop on an emotional whirlwind trip up north in Michigan -- and it could not have been more perfect. I chose to stay in the lodge, and it was awesome. Comfortable, clean, cozy, spacious. I watched the sun set from a perfect seat between my room and the sheep night pen. It stormed like crazy that night, and I watched the lightning illuminate the pines -- beautiful. The tent sites looked great. I would either tent camp or stay again in the lodge. Dan and Arlene are kind people, wonderful hosts. And Begi is a good dog! And the breakfast? Really, really good. Highly recommend.

My husband and I enjoyed our first Hipcamp stay with Dan and Arlene! We are lifelong tent campers and this is among our most relaxing and fun camping experiences! Can't beat a delicious home made hot breakfast with farm fresh eggs, pasture fed pork and hot coffee delivered to your campsite! Ample space to nap in your hammocks! Loved watching the sheep run into the barn from the pasture! We visited the entertaining pigs and the free range chickens. Arlene and Dan were wonderful hosta and fun to chat with! We enjoyed biking on the state trails that are close by. The facilities are very clean and more than adequate for camping!!! We would highly recommend a stay here and would definitely return.

Cabin Relaxation
Dan and Arlene were excellent hosts. We just wanted a relaxing getaway in nature and this delivered! Also delivered was delicious country style breakfast every morning. We're small people so each breakfast was easily two meals. The area is rural and the site has plenty of flora and fauna to appreciate. The cabin itself was very comfortable even on a cold night. Navigation to the site was easy with GPS and their big road side sign

We absolutely loved staying at this BnB! Dan & Arlene we’re the sweetest hosts, and the breakfasts they bring every morning were always so good! They coordinated and worked with us about when to bring the food each day, according to our schedule. The BnB is absolutely adorable, spacious, clean, and well cared for. There’s a mini fridge & microwave in the BnB, and a gas grill outside on the front porch, so you can even make your own meals for lunch & dinner if you don’t want to go out & eat at a restaurant. They have a few acres of land that we were able to roam & even have sheep to pet! They also have a calico barn cat & she was the sweetest thing! We only saw her once (she does what she pleases), but she’s very friendly and wants all the attention she can get! If we were rating this by stars, it would definitely be a 5/5 Star Stay.

Peaceful and Relaxing Farm BnB
We loved our stay at the Saw Mill BnB Suite, and Dan and Arlene were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed using the fire pit, looking out onto the pastures, walking around the property, and bonding with the barn cats. We got to watch Dan and his dog Libby wrangle up and feed the sheep at night. The homemade breakfast in the morning was a treat too. There are a lot of special logging details that went into building and crafting the suite, which we admired as well. Dan offered a list of a wide range of farm-based and local activities which was very helpful in planning our trip. We'd definitely recommend staying at this unique BnB!

We loved our overnight at the Saw Mill! Nice accomodations and the surrounding area was a hop skip from other mitten adventures. We went to a cider mill, got some great beers in Reed City, and hit up Glen Arbor before heading home.
The story of the Cool Family is shared on the walls of the BnB and there are wonderful touches around the space. The breakfast was delicious! And we got to meet the sheep, chickens, pigs, cats, and dogs that make up the farm part of the Cool family.

Great get away for making Memories
I stayed here with my 4 children for a suprise get away. They can't wait to come back. What a wholesome organic experience for us all. Wonderful BnB!
Dan and Arlene's farm was a beautiful setting for my husband and I to spend our weekend. Dan and Arlene were such welcoming hosts, and went above and beyond. The BnB Suite was absolutely charming, and more spacious than it looks in the pics. Arlene's breakfast, brought right to the room, is delicious. We ate outside, enjoying the beautiful view and savoring the flavors. We did a bike ride on the White Pine trail, and went out to dinner in Cadillac, both conveniently close-by. We were happy to not have been tent camping as it rained a bit Saturday night, making the indoor Suite all the more cozy. I would highly recommend this stay to people who love the outdoors, but just want to have more comfort and relaxation than what is possible when roughing it in a tent. Thanks Dan and Arlene.

Great hosts, food, and scenery
Beautiful property, delicious breakfasts, and great experience! My kids loved helping feed the animals and watching the dogs herd the sheep. My oldest daughter enjoyed walking the property and taking pictures of all the farm animals and the wild birds. Everyone fell in love with the barn cat Speedy. Dan and Arlene were great hosts and answered my kids’ many questions. Thank you for allowing us to stay at your beautiful home!

RV Camper Site on the Farm
Exceptionally welcoming owners. Very friendly and interesting couple. Nice farm with sheep, chicken, pigs and cool Shepard dogs and cats. Very quiet campground. Location close to interesting areas to visit.
I would recommend adding a 30amp RV electrical outlet and leveling the RV parking area.
I would recommend this business and would return.
