Twisted River
First of all my group (9 total) loved our stay. We had the site by the creek with plenty of space for our tents, camp kitchen, firepit arrangement, a fairly large popup canopy and our cars but never felt cluttered. The site itself has plenty of trees and shade while also having access to the trails and several steps up from the creek itself. Definitely recommend renting the kayaks for a day (which are practically in the campsite). There is a blockage of trees not too far upstream but heading downstream is really beautiful. Plenty of spots to swim in if you don't mind tiny harmless fish poking you. There are ticks so come prepared. Also the hosts are awesome, polite, and totally there for you. Really glad we took this site and recommend it.

Beautiful wooded site.
Excellent experience. Exactly what I look for in primative tent camping. The sites are very spaced out, couldn't even see any of the other sites from site 1. Scott and his kids made me feel welcome and I plan on returning the next time I'm in the area.

Beautiful spot
A great slice of paradise. The creek was just perfect for the children and the whole area was a great place for them to explore. Secluded and private and well cared for. The last bit of road was bumpy and needed good clearance but I know that going in. The host was gracious and the eggs they had on offer were great. We will be back.

Twisted River
We had a very enjoyable three night stay secluded in the woods. It was great hearing some of the wildlife in the area during the night.

Twisted River
It's a nice place to stay if you're in a tent but I wouldn't recommend it for an RV.
PROS
Well mowed sites, new table, firepit, prompt replies from host. Quiet and peaceful.
CONS
Hard to find. Could use a sign or something to earmark the turn. Directions say blue gate but gate is grey. Gate was open and pushed into brush and hard to see. Road not conducive to RVs (which we said we were bringing). Trees scraping roof of RV (no, no, no!) and sides. We had small RVs (about 21 ft) and a bigger one would be a total disaster. Once you're on the logging road you're committed. Sites are unmarked even though you're assigned a number leading to mass confusion over which site is "ours." Creek pretty but too low to swim, kayak. I think the host really needs to alter his listing regarding being RV friendly or communicate that this is best as a tent site.

Secluded and safe. Not for RV
Scott was very helpful when we called. He called back in 10 minutes.
Scott’s wife came down to welcome us and make sure we had what we needed.
The site was secluded and safe. Enjoyed our stay. The water was a short walk and the trail was well kept.
The gate to get to the campground was hard to find. Can only be seen from one direction. The road was not appropriate for any Class C or Class A RV. We needed to walk ahead and move or remove branches hanging over the road. The sites were not marked so we were not sure we were in the correct spot.

Scott (host) was very welcoming and was very timely in his communication. We ended up with about 1-2 inches of rain over the last half of our weekend, but were prepared and still had a great time! Trails and creek were a highlight and the site was very private. We'll he back and thanks again, Scott, for the hospitality!

Twisted River
The campsite was perfectly private tucked away in the trees. Once we told Scott that we would need some trees for our hammocks he even carved out a new spot on the property for us! So kind and accommodating, I really appreciated it. The creek down the road was a perfect spot for a swim so that was really fun too!

Unique land, many options.
Really hard to describe in a few sentences. Very isolated spot with multiple further isolated campsites. Use of entire site is permitted- there are options to kayak, fish, hike, swim...even some small caves and rock formations to explore. Wildlife was abundant- turkey, deer, owls and hawks. The wildflowers and butterflies seemed to be everywhere and the dark skies perfect for stargazing. Scott and Jamila are wonderful and easygoing hosts. Can’t wait to return in the fall for the colors and even more opportunity to explore around Twisted River!

Pristine, relaxing, care free
Scott and his family were wonderful hosts. The property is spacious and beautiful, with a campsite in a cozy clearing great for fires and stargazing, as well as a separate shady day use area right next to a crystal clear creek with fish, river otters, and plenty of other wildlife. All within about 100 meters. There was also a well maintained walking trail around the river bend which was great for a morning walk. A truly great price of land that provided us a great respite from the daily grind, thank you for sharing this with us Scott! We will be back!
