Cozy Birds Nest Cabin
A beautiful place!
The Bird's Nest is a beautiful place to spend the weekend. Lori has included everything you need for cooking and sleeping. There is a extra little heater in addition to the wood stove that keeps the place nice and warm and the outdoor shower is wonderful. The cabin is well laid out, so although it's tiny, the space feels open. Perfect for two people. We had our dog, Simon with us and he loved playing with Lori's puppy Nevada, who was eager to greet us!
The cabin is located right next to Lori's home and a larger cabin that she is building. It's off of the road and feels like a little commune. There are beautiful hikes and trails in the area, which seems quite remote, but only a quick 25 minute drive to Sandpoint. It's very exciting what Lori is doing with her land and I'm looking forward to staying there again!

Cozy Birds Nest Cabin
Permaculture Paradise!
Lori's property was a quite, serene place ideal for getting away from the bustle of city life. Her permaculture set up lacked none of the comforts from home (her hot water for the outdoor shower heats up faster than mine!). Our site, the Bird's Nest, was clean and charmingly decorated upon arrival (with paintings by Lori herself on the wall) and the woodstove was more than ample to keep the space warm at night. We got to see lots of birds right outside our window as well as other animals just outside of her property. A truly peaceful place to unwind, I would absolutely recommend any of Lori's sites to other campers. The sites are situated in such a way that you aren't overlooking other campers, though you may cross paths with them during the day if they happen to be there at the same time as you (my boyfriend and I didn't have this happen as we spent our days visiting local parks, like Round Lake State Park which is very near Lori's property). If you are a dog person, you are also in luck as Lori has two VERY cute dogs, that was definitely an unexpected bonus! On top of being a quite, sanctuary-esque retreat, Lori's property is close enough to Sandpoint, ID that we were able to drive into town to try out the local restaurants (their food game is strong) on the couple of nights that we didn't feel like cooking (but the kitchen is well set up to cook if you prefer that.) Thank you, Lori, we had a great time and definitely hope to make our way over to you again!

Cozy Birds Nest Cabin
Great private getaway!
Such a cute little cabin. We were celebrating our 25th Wedding Anniversary and spent two nights at Lori's cabin. It has everything you need. Great place to get away and enjoy nature. We loved the outdoor shower and sitting at the cute table for two outside the cabin door.

La Luna Rustic Cabin
Enjoyed every minute of our weekend! The weather was not cooperative, but in spite of it, the trip was a wonderful, quiet get away and chance to unplug. This cabin is very small and cozy; the perfect size for a family of two and small fur babies. The woodburn stove was a great feature that kept us warm and dry. We enjoyed visiting with Lori and appreciating her art. She is a very thoughtful host!! We will be returning and I highly recommend for anyone needing a quiet weekend to unplug and relax.

Serene off grid escape
Absolute gem! We welcomed the new year at Lori’s cabin and it was perfection. You can feel the heartbeat of her artistry through thoughtful details in the cabin and its rustic charm. It was very cold and snowy when we went, so we just snuggled in and enjoyed the space. (The pot belly stove kept us warm for those who are interested in coming in the winter - just be prepared that it is “rustic” and you need to keep the fire going ☺️)
Lori is a great host! As mentioned it was a cold one for us, and she was very communicative and accommodating to make sure we were prepared and warm. Amazing stay!

Cozy Birds Nest Cabin
The bird's nest was a beautiful little cabin in northern Idaho. My husband and I went for two nights to celebrate our anniversary and we loved it. It was close to her main house, and close to an outdoor shower and toilet, just like the description says. Lori does an amazing job at keeping the cabin and property clean and enjoyable! It was awesome seeing all the work she put into the property, and she did an amazing job!

Really cute! Not what expected
The stairs are very steep to go upstairs! The place is really nice and quit. The lake is not a mile to where you can enter its about 2 miles. I really enjoyed it however! Lori is a really sweet lady as well!

Rustic Wilderness getaway
What a beautiful place to get away. The cabin description was exactly what we found— quiet cabin, complete with a comfortable bed and a camping kitchen set up waiting for us. Best of al is the luscious outdoor shower. All the benefits of camping without all the work. It rained two nights and all I could think was — I’m not in my tent right now :) Lori was a perfect hostess. Available if we needed her but not obtrusive in any way. The property is lush and nice to explore.

Magic in the Woodfairy Mountains!
My stay at The Rising Phoenix Ranch was nothing short of magical! The cabin was perfect, the views were incredible, Lori was an incredible host and I can’t wait to go back! I also went paddle boarding with Lori on Jewel Lake and had such a great time! Would recommend staying here to any adventurous soul!

Peaceful, clean, art, nature!
The Birds Nest is a lovely place to stay in northern Idaho. It felt remote, yet easy to drive into Sandpoint etc. Lori's property is beautiful. You sense the intention and care she puts into the structures and the land. The Birds Nest cabin/bunk house is adorable. It is very clean and full of art. The outdoor shower and compost toilet were perfect. Well done. We stayed in July and it was fabulous! The mattress in the loft is very comfortable. Lori is very nice and easy to communicate with. I definitely recommend staying here!

We had such a lovely time at e cabin. It is rustic but very cozy and the outdoor shower is amazing (with very warm water). Lots of great wildlife and flowers around the cabin. Lori was a great host.

La Luna Rustic Cabin
The cabin was lovely! We loved being off-grid, having dinner by the light of the oil lamp, heating the space with the wood stove, and enjoying the sound of rain on the tin roof. It's in a gorgeous part of Idaho and we enjoyed exploring the surrounding terrain. The cabin is right by the main road to the property, so we did see trucks coming in and out a few times, but everyone was friendly and we still felt pretty secluded.

Lori was a great host. Very hospitable, friendly, yet respected our space. Adorable cabin in an awesome location! If you have small children make sure you bring a baby gate - the stairs and drop off at the top of the A frame are pretty intense. The only negative would be seating in the main room - a lower table with sturdy chairs or small couch would be awesome for rainy or cold days.

La Luna Rustic Cabin
My husband and I stayed here for our anniversary weekend and it was so romantic! Lori was very accommodating (we booked it last minute) and everything was as we expected. The essentials were provided to cook dinner on the grill, clean dishes and even shower. We brought our dog with us and she didn’t want to leave! We would definitely come back to this cabin in the future :)
