Camping with horses!
We loved our stay at Ashby Acres! Very nice and private. It was fun to watch all the horses! No issues running a generator at all. I would highly recommend this place!

This was our first time using Hipcamp and it was as good as we had hoped for. We are new to camping so this location was perfect. It’s secluded but close to town in case you need to run to the store. Everyone we encountered was friendly and helpful.

Nice big area. Pick your own site!
I liked the fact that there are no designated camp sites. It is just one big area in which you decide where to set up your tent. I picked a spot that would have some shade mid day to keep my tent cool, although it was really cold when I was there at night! It was fun seeing all the horse activity during the day. The hosts were very helpful and friendly.

Beautiful camp location.
What a fantastic place. I’d like to thank the owner Ms Annie for hosting our crew and Melvin for showing us around. Our camp spot was near the horse training ring so we got to watch them train. There were mini horses we could pet so we loved that. It was nice having bathroom and shower to use. The horse farm is close to Summer Crush Winery which I highly recommend going to. Great weekend.

Family Camping
We had such a great time! Camped out with the family for two days. We had such a good spot with a fire pit and picnic table. The grounds were really clean and the grass was cut. The bathroom was a 2 min walk from us. Absolutely loved being around the horses, we could see them training and hear them playing. One of the employees even took us on a tour of the barns. He was so cool and inviting. We hope to be back next year. Such a great way to enjoy cooler weather in Florida and spend some time outdoors. 10/10 recommend!

Clear Communication
We got there late and left early. Couldn’t ask for a better spot to hang our hats for the night. The host, who had left for the day; was an excellent communicator. She gave clear instructions on how to get in, where to park, and some layouts of the land. She apologized profusely for her hurricane ruined roads(of absolute no consequence to us!), and made it clear that we would be able to contact her at any point. The other people on the property were helpful and were waiting for us to arrive and show us to our spot for the night!

We had a peaceful and relaxing time at Ashby Acres. We were lucky enough to meet the mini horses which was a once in a lifetime experience. We will definitely be back. Thank you for allowing us to experience your gorgeous space!

Well where do I start .. my first tent camping alone and it was amazing … primitive site but soft on my body… had a fire second night and loved seeing the moon and stars … my granddaughters came to help me take pop up tent down and see horses .. so many photos were taken and the horses loved extra pets for sure … quiet and Annie was a jewel showing me around … I’d definitely go again maybe camp with my 14 year old granddaughter who loves horses… somewhat hot in daytime so I’d advise shade sitting in summer …sunsets were welcome to my camera … love all of this place…

Surf and camp trip!
Absolutely loved it here! Annie is so accommodating, 2 bathrooms and showers, lodge and kitchen for hanging out inside and charging devices, and close to the beach. Definitely recommend to anyone wanting to camp nearby Fort Pierce State Park!

The road into the site resembled the Ho Chi Minh Trail after a bombardment. Giant holes with no attempt to fill any. The Host likely thinks it keeps speeds down and it surely does.
Lots of fire ants around so be careful where you put things.

Camping with shade and breeze
This is our second time camping here. We live close by, and it will be our go to camping spot when we can't go far. She was very welcoming like the first time and remembered us. This time we camped in front of trees which gave us wonderful shade in the afternoon and there was a wonderful breeze at all times.

Peaceful escape!
Ashby is a wonderful host and the land is such a peaceful and serene environment to simply relax and unwind. We stayed only one night but will certainly come back to take full advantage of the place. Wide open spaces, a great coffee/tea area with porch and off the beaten track in the heart of nature.

Site 5 - Beautiful Florida Horse Country
Pretty farm, not for camping.
This place is a beautiful piece of land, with a well maintained farm and gorgeous animals. On the other hand, the actual campsite felt like they just winged it and corralled the sites all close together in a corner, next to where they keep the manure and where most of the workers start the day so it tends to be on the louder side. We actually only stayed one night out of the 2 we payed for because it just wasn't worth it. No privacy. Our neighbors had a generator on the entire time, so forget about a good night sleep.
