Great location that is both close to the bathrooms and yet isolated from the other campsites at the Manzanita Camp. Lots of flat areas for tents, lots of room for parking, and only a five-minute walk to the river. Our three families really enjoyed our stay!

What a beautiful campsite for our large group of 15! We had a great time with plenty of space to spread out. The bathrooms were conveniently located near our site and kept clean. River access was such a gem and made the stay even more special. There was plenty of shade to stay cool when needed, which was a big plus. Communication was clear, and instructions were easy to follow. We’re definitely adding this spot to our rotation! Thank you Matt!!

Had an amazing time at site 6! I think it’s the best site at this campground. It was perfectly shaded and so close to the river. The only downside is that it was far from the shower and flush toilets. We had a group of 8 and had three large tents on the site, and still had plenty of space for our tables and chairs. Matt was so great and informative about the area. We will definitely be coming again!

First time camping here and definitely won’t be the last. We stayed at campsite 6 and it was very spacious, a 2 minute walk from the water, and enough space away from the other campsites to feel like your out in the woods by yourself, yet still close enough to the water to hear it when your going to sleep. Spent the whole day by the water relaxing with family, and loved every minute. Will definitely be back.

10 out of 10 experience. First of all Matt the camp host was able to answer any question promptly before the trip. On arrival the camp was clean and propane fire pit was at ready to use. The site had plenty of room and lots of distance between sites. The beach was an easy walk and great for the kids. When the water goes up it does get small, but in the morning and evening there was plenty of room. The bathrooms were clean and the shower was clutch. Can’t wait to stay here again. Thanks again Matt!

We had a great time staying at campsite 1. Huge site (fit truck, tesr drop trailer, friend's car and tent no problem). The site had ample shade, it was very close to bathroom and showers, and a close 5 minute walk to the river's beach. Matt provides a propane tank, fire pit, and trash bin. We'll definitely be back.

Manzanita was a welcome serene, private, quiet, and clean campground with simple but clean and spacious shower rooms and toilet/sink rooms. A great spot convenient for running S Fork American with river access just above Greenwood. Perfect for a campervan! Matt was very responsive, friendly, and provided detailed information for us prior to arival. We will be back!

I've stayed here a few times. The site is unrivaled. Matt is awesome and accommodating. So close tot he river is a hard thing to find at a reasonable price anywhere. The bathrooms are awesome with quality toilets and showers. The kitchen area at the large lagoon is excellent, and the running water int he sink a lifesaver. highly recommend!

We had an amazing time at Camping Site 6 over the Labor Day weekend. The site was clean, spacious, and perfectly set up for a relaxing getaway. The host was incredibly welcoming, helpful, and made sure everything was in place for a smooth stay. The surroundings were peaceful, and we loved how close the site was to river and activities but still felt private and quiet enough to unwind. Whether you’re camping with family, friends, or solo, this spot has everything you need.

Our campsite met our expectation and was exactly as listed on Hipcamp. Site 3 offers plenty of space between our group of 9 people with several trees to choose for shade. I think our site’s amenities was the best because we were between the community BBQ area and the restrooms with plenty of space between the other campsites. Our spot came with a picnic bench and a set-up for a gas fire. Matt provided the propane. The bathrooms were clean and showers had hot water. To access the river, it’s a short 5 minute walk down to the beach where you can find multiple areas to setup your spot with or without a canopy, depending on your river access. The river is known for its whitewater so you’ll see plenty of rafts and kayakers during the day. The river current has some strength so I recommend bringing a rope to tie up your floaties when in the water. I would recommend Manzanita to anyone interested!

To preface, I have spent a good chunk of my life camping, from roughing it to glamping at many places in and outside of California. The good: Site 3 was very spacious with plenty of parking right in front of the campsite itself which makes for loading and unloading very easy, But the whole campsite isn't entirely flat. We had two tents and took up all the flat parts of the site. Anything more than two tents you would be at a tiny slope. The flushing toilets and provided hand soap and paper towels were a nice to have. We didn't use the showers so can't speak for that. The walk to the river access was about 3-5 min walk. Propane firepit was nice to have so we didnt have to deal with firewood and smelling like campfire. Good cell reception for tmobile. Trees spread out to provide shade throughout different parts of the day. The so-so: We had gone during mid August and the campsite had a ton of very dried leaves that were sharp so wearing crocs or any type of sandals around the campsite was not ideal. If your kids are squirmish around spiders, there were quite a few of them in the bathrooms. I'm not docking off a star for this as we are in nature...but just something to be aware of. There wasn't much of a "beach" area to set up tent shade and whatever "river access" remained was already taken by other campers in the campground. Propane tank was 1/4 remaining when we arrived. It was just an okay campground but I just don't think it was worth the amount we paid.

We had such a wonderful time at Manzanita Camping & Co. site #5. Matt was such a wonderful host, very informative and even met us at the entrance to help us get settled in. The weather was hot, but our spot was shaded and felt very private. The site has a short trail from the parking spot to where you have to set up, but a wheelbarrow is readily available to help with unloading our gears. The river was just a short trail away and felt super safe. We loved relaxing by the beach and watching rafters go by. Bathrooms were clean and convenient, with both porta potties nearby and flushing toilets with showers within walking distance. The campsite was so nice that after showing pictures to my family, they immediately decided they want to camp here too, we’ll be back in a couple of months, and I honestly can’t wait! Thank you, Matt, for your hospitality and for sharing your land with us. We had an amazing time and are already looking forward to our next visit!

This was a great campsite. Good space for one camper van and one tent car camping family. The beach is really the highlight. Don’t come here expecting to have a quiet river to yourself - the whole camp site will likely be down on the river with you, but it was a super fun location for me and our friends and their two year old. Family friendly, well maintained. Definitely would recommend this site for car campers looking for some river time.

Booked this Hipcamp for some spontaneous mom and teen camping fun and it was amazing! The site was super clean, well-equipped with propane and a great fire pit, and just steps from the bathrooms. Matt, the host, was incredibly kind and attentive. We had such a great time we’re already booking again for next weekend. Highly recommend

Great spot, very family friendly, very close to the river (though the river is a bit too strong for swimming) and the camp host was very pleasant and communicative. The the campground is small but the spot was big and there are full service toilets on site and plenty of shade over the campsite.
