Located a short, two minute drive off of the historic Crowsnest Highway, down a quiet dead-end road, Similkameen Wild is nestled in one of Canada’s most unique and diverse regions. From our grounds you can witness 7,500 feet of unspoiled vertical mountain slope, explore eight acres of indigenous flora and fauna, and walk along 2000 feet of untamed river bed. Our facilities-free riverside and meadow camping is available to fully self-contained motorhomes and camper trailers looking for an escape from mainstream Okanagan campgrounds. Come experience camping as it was meant to be: rustic, rugged, and real. Learn more about this land: Our Riverside Retreat camping is facilities free, meaning we are only suitable for fully-contained RV's and Camper Trailers.  We can accommodate vehicles up to 80ft in length. All campsites are on a first-come, first-served basis. Our property is nestled in the Similkameen Valley, next to the river and is home to the Similkameen Wild Resort & Retreat. We trust that you'll be charmed by the amazing views surrounding us. There is a peacefulness here that is hard to explain. Perhaps it's the mountains embracing the valley that provides the feeling of comfort. We have a 10-acre Vineyard in Canada’s Premier Wine Region, with another 8-acres of lush waterfront meadow bordering the shoreline of the Similkameen River.  Explore from a kayak, bike, or trail or take in the vistas from your campsite. Stargaze by the firepits and enjoy the amazing peace and quiet. We respect the first people of this land. The Smalqmix people are valued friends to the Similkameen Wild family. Campfires are permitted when there is no fire ban, pets are welcome.

      Similkameen Wild Riverside Retreat
      Firstly, the host was excellent, responsive and informative about the area. The camping experience was something completely new to us so there were a few things that were unexpected. There was no direction of where we could specifically set up so thankfully we were the first ones there. The prime spots got crowded quickly. With no fire pits, tables or anything, it was just a piece of land provided to park the trailer so the prices were very high. Unfortunately the experience did not outweigh the cost.

      Similkameen Wild River Retreat
      The Similkameen Wild Vineyard campsite was fantastic. I was greeted by Tristan at the gate and then promptly shown where I could stay. There are three options for your stay: stay in the Meadow which is RV friendly, wide and open with views of the vineyard and surrounding mountains, if you intend to host a group for grape harvest there is the Harvest Host area and then a selection of other wild camp spots closer to the river with fire rings and views of the mountains across the Similkameen river. For my stay I chose a site by the river. I enjoyed watching a small weather system roll in before bed and then woke up to sun-soaked mountains in the morning. An early morning dip in the Similkameen river had me wide awake and ready to hit the road once again. Make sure to chat with Tristan, as a Keremeos local he's got a great knowledge of the surrounding area and all its gems. Overall I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at Similkameen wild.

      Amazing place to camp. Highly highly recommend. The river is so nice to wake up to and swim in in the morning. Super soft sand on the beach as well.
