Moon Gate Farms

We enjoyed staying on this hobby farm. The owners are very warm and friendly and respond to messages. The farm has lovely spots with shade. There is a very nice outdoor kitchen with a large BBQ, induction stovetop, microwave and toaster oven. We BBQ’s squash from the garden to add to our burger meal. We were encouraged to use things from the garden including lots of plants to make herbal teas. The place looks like it just needs some sheep / goats to make it look like a true farm!

Wonderful place and hosts

We’ve stayed at Evonne & Darrell’s on a couple of occasions now and enjoyed our experience both times. They are wonderful and thoughtful hosts and their property is very beautiful and well maintained thanks to their hard work and dedication. The first time we camped and the second time we stayed in the little cabin. We loved both experiences and hope to come back again in the future.

The lot was beautiful and well kept. Vegetable garden in the middle with lots of stuff to pick for those who wish. The tent itself was pristine, spotless and clean. The bedding was comfortable and nothing was more beautiful than sleeping whilst listening to the soft drumming of rain against the canvas tent.

I came for the full moon and it was a lovely evening. I met Evonne and Darrell and A couple others. Everyone was kind, and the evening was quite pleasant. The facilities are all very easy to access and use.

We loved staying in the cabin, it was super cosy and clean. We were welcomed so warmly, and felt very at ease and at home. We only wish we could have stayed longer! Love the idea of the communal garden and kitchen aswell :)

The farm is very cute with a nice gardens, flowers and a pond. The outdoor showers are fantastic. We also enjoyed the large communal fire pit. It was very quiet and peaceful.

Our second stay with Evonne She’s lovely as always. We came for our engagement trip and came back for our mini honeymoon. Had a lovely stay and Evonne even gave us a pumpkin for a wedding gift! So sweet. We have so many sweet memories, can’t wait to be back.

Staying at this farm was a great experience. Evonne warmly welcomed us and gave us a brief tour of the property. The environment was calm and peaceful, with clean kitchen facilities, washrooms, and showers available. We were even able to pick seasonal vegetables from the garden. There was also a charming farm stand offering local products. I definitely recommend this place — it's not crowded like other campsites.

Moon gate farms is epic! Please bring a mattress that works if you purchase a stay at one of the sites that requires. Otherwise the kind hosts will have to supply you with one. They will if they have to. I have experienced their amazing hospitality. Not just running showers and flushing toilets but also an amazing place to hike within walking distance. Watch out for the squirrel near Orion that seems to want to throw acorns at people.!

I enjoyed the time in the Moon Gate Farm campsite very much. The environment is beautiful and peaceful. I appreciate the host spend time to take care of the place and everything. I had a nice welcome and clear instructions about the campsite. Also, the farm with fresh vege and flowers is an unique 5* experience. I like that everyone just respect each other and the place to get what we need to just experience and make some good memories. The outdoor kitchen and dining area is absolutely cozy. Don't forget to try the ice cream and support the local farm and people. So delicious!! I would like to come visit again!

We loved our stay. The land and hosts are really lovely, and being there with the garden was really special. The bed in the cabin is fantastic and the cabin is very warm and cozy. Would happily go back! Evonne is doing something really special with the garden, making it accessible to the campers. We helped ourselves to some herbs (recommended by her) and flowers. They are still littering the dashboard and creating such a cheerful effect for the remainder of our trip elsewhere. Really couldn't say enough about how special this place is.

Cozy cabin was amazing

The hosts were absolutely wonderful! They are very attentive and giving, like we could go into their huge garden and pick vegetables for ourselves! The campground is really wide open and you’re not on top of people like normal campgrounds. Plus the place was just absolutely beautiful. Much better than their pictures on the website showed. The cabin was really fun and nice and private and the whole area was really quiet. Definitely want to go back and bring my wife next time. I would highly recommend this place!

I've stayed with Evonne and Darrell a few times over the past two summers, as always they are outstanding hosts and the campground/amenities are above and beyond. Always a wonderful experience coming to Moon Gate, we cannot recommend them enough.

Moon Gate Farms was more than accommodating. The people running it are genuinely very nice people! The campsite was clean with running toilets and showers. It was a very peaceful and quiet stay in a nature packed area with an abundance of things to do, including amazing hiking trails right outside the campsite.

Beautiful place! Very nice host! After a week camping with rain storm, my kid and I felt so welcomed by the staff and the host over there! We had almost the whole farm to ourselves and the kids had so much fun running everywhere. Evoone even came all her way to show my kid how to train the dogs, find some book for him to read, and offer a whole book of oragami papers (which is my kid’s favourite). The kitchen is so big and have everything you need, Hot shower might look very basic because it is made of wood without rooftop, but you will find it surprisingly awesome, water press is so strong, temperature adjustable by yourself, and very spacious! Better than any 4 mins’ coin-run indoor shower in the private campsite. And it is free! In addition to that, we got free farm to table veggies from their garden, and so many nice flowers. Thank you so much for the great summer camping experiences. We will absolutely come back next year!

Yvonne and Darrell were AMAZING hosts! They greeted us when we arrived & showed us around their beautiful property! It was a great balance of being in the woods, learning about their property, business & their lives, and glamping! The communal kitchen was stocked with much more than I expected, it was great to cook w/ other campers. It felt like a true PNW hostel type experience, and that was wonderful!

Farm Glamping Oasis

Had a wonderful overnight trip at Moongate farms. We stayed in the Pegases tent—a spacious and cozy glamping experience. Facilities were very clean and easy to use. Darrell and Evonne were very friendly and generous hosts with great knowledge on medicinal herbs and gardening. We had the pleasure of picking some veggies, fresh lavender and flowers from their garden. Very quiet site and easy to find. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway.

Peaceful little cabin

We stayed in the small cabin for two nights, perfect for cooler, rainy nights with good ventilation and heating and generally well built. Bed is comfy and cabin is clean, and site is well cared for. Moon Gate Farm is well kept, extremely quiet and peaceful and relaxing, we had two wonderful nights of sleep after long days of exploring the wonderful Sunshine coast. Would love to return for a longer visit!

A beautiful, welcoming place to stay! Hosts are both friendly and generous. The farm facilities are clean, provide hot showers, full kitchen and lounge areas. We had such a lovely time camping on Evonne and Darrell’s gorgeous farm. It was easy to get to, our tent site with a provided large tent and bed was perfect. The sites are perfectly spaced for privacy, and the kitchen and common fire pit area are lovely for socializing. Evonne showed us around with her sweet dog Bow, who got along great with our dog. She gave us some great recommendations of stuff to do on the area (Ruby Lake is a must!). We will definitely be back here whenever possible. Thanks!

Beautiful setting!

A quick weekend away from the city! Evonne is very kind and it was great to hear the story of thr land's restoration. A beautiful farm setting near Robert's Creek and a great place to unwind.
