Mountainside Waterfall Retreat in Pennsylvania

Host Adam Freedgood says:

Your campsite is perched along a private waterfall gorge with towering hemlocks and dramatic bluestone ledges. New wood-fired hot tub! A private off-the-grid nature experience with only two campsites on 12 acres. Need gear? Add the Extra “Glamp me up package” and everything you need will be waiting.

Hot shower, toilet, drinking water, and rubbish bin all provided. Minutes from Delaware River swimming, fishing and boating spots. The landscape is enchanting and profoundly peaceful with over a mile of trails through ferns, berry brambles, rock walls, and boulder fields. Enjoy hammocks, seasoned firewood, and more. The circular driveway is well maintained and welcomes boat trailers.

Away from it all, but also close to quaint river towns and conveniences. The Upper Delaware River (5 miles) is a crystal clear oasis for swimming, tubing, canoeing, and fishing.

When you book, we send you our Visitor's Guide chock full of local gems like Equinunk General Store, Good Find Farm (impeccable organic produce), and Fat Cat Cones country ice cream shop.

Firewood: First crate FREE. Additional for purchase. OK to collect plentiful dead wood.

Wood-fired hot tub: See Site #2 description. It's private for site #2 but if you booked Site #1 and no one is in Site #2, you can hike down and use the hot tub too!

Pets: Site #1 is the designated dog-friendly site.

Host Interaction: You dictate the vibe. Want total isolation? We're highly skilled at being invisible. Prefer company? We'll invite you down for locally roasted coffee to trade local lore and point you to secret spots to explore. Hosts live in the off-grid solar cabin and converted school bus camper on the property from late June through August. We are off-site during most other dates.

Access Logistics: Self check-in/out. Borrow the rugged garden cart to haul gear to your site. Trails use reflective markers for easy night navigation.

Liability Waiver and Rules: You'll get a link to e-sign before arrival. One per family or unrelated adult guest.

Waterfall intensity: Varies with weather. Expect a whitewater torrent after very heavy rain or snowmelt or just a steady spring-fed trickle during droughts.

What's nearby? Hancock NY (15 mins), Honesdale PA (20 mins), Bethel and Livingston Manor NY (45 mins). Rent boats and get Delaware River shuttle service from local business O.A.R.S. Of Hancock.

Running Water for outdoor sink and shower: Available May through Mid October. Frosty late fall bookings - bring your own drinking water.

See you on the mountain!
