Our cozy A-frame cabin and peaceful nature campsites are located in a beautiful mixed woodland next to the Missisquoi River, which is great for swimming, kayaking, and paddleboarding in the summer, and cross-country or backcountry skiing and snowshoeing in the winter. The property is fairly steep, so be prepared for a good 5–10 minute workout as you hike up to the cabin. We have a stunning view of Mount Sutton, located about a 25-minute drive from the property. Owl's Head and Jay Peak are each about the same distance away.

My wife and I had such a wonderful time. The place was peaceful, comfortable, and beautifully maintained , you can really feel the care that goes into it. Alain was an exceptional host. Very nice camping spot: private, lot of space, very clean. Very dog-friendly and the fence makes it easy and safe for the dogs. The large fire pit and tables with umbrellas make it very comfortable. I recommend!

The gated food forest was so pretty and clean. We loved the soft grass, huge fire pit, and the two large umbrellas and tables. Our dog was able to roam around and play safely. The location is beautiful with rolling hills and farms. Nicole and Robert were very friendly and kind. They recommended some great hikes and festivals going on in the area. We would love to come back in the Fall to see all the colours.

The sunsets were beautiful ( reds,oranges,pinks and purples) Little fire area and a good amount of land to roam around. The tiny house had what was needed. It was very quaint and cozy. The host Alain was really kind and easy to talk to.

We enjoyed our stay on Nicole’s land. It was a very private spot with great birdsong, a short walk down to a beautiful river, lovely sunsets, two sturdy picnic tables, comfortable Adirondack chairs, and a nice lounge chair perfect for reading a book for hours on end like we did. The port-o-potty was immaculately clean. We would have liked to stay even longer. Perhaps we will be back next year!

Great camping with a large fenced area perfect for a dog run! The river access is gorgeous, and we even had a bit of luck fly fishing. Extremely friendly host, and the offer of paid perks like fresh maple syrup is a cool touch. Highly recommend!

The best camping near Coaticook with a private bathroom guide

When to go

The Eastern Townships region is a four-season destination where most national parks offer winter camping and a range of snow and ice activities, so in theory, anyone can camp right through the coldest weather, provided you have the right gear. Coaticook can be really busy in July and August, but spring is pretty and fall may be the best time to visit, as it is usually still warm and the changing of the leaves is spectacular.

Know before you go

You’ll find it difficult to get around this region without a vehicle. Roadtripping from Montreal before heading out to the Eastern Townships may be your best option.
There are EV charging stations in Coaticook.
Each September the town hosts a Fête de la Magie, where you can watch magicians perform and take workshops with them—something to plan to attend or avoid, depending on how much you love magic!
There's a US Border crossing south of the town. Remember to have appropriate documentation with you to get into and out of the US if you choose to cross over into Vermont.
