This beautiful spot was re-forested with pine a number of years ago, and was sectioned off from the surrounding farmland, which is now maintained by the mennonite community. It is 8 1/2 acres of wetland and forest, with a mown perimeter, and cool places to tuck into the forest for the night. The current owner was a special educator, and now is slowly turning the land into her homestead. There is a beautiful, spa quality outdoor shower next to a tidy and 'fancier than most' outhouse, a strawberry patch as well as wild alpine strawberries all over the property, a big dog and a small indoor cat keep her company. Here is what the land offers: -Bunkie in the Forest: A sweet 8x8 ft. space with new bunk and mattresses as of April 2023 -Strawberry Fields bunkie: an 10x12 space with a loft with a queen memory foam mattress and a main floor with a full futon and a small table -Campsites: Meadow, Forest and River spots. Close to each other, but you'd never know it! All three are chill and serene places. We share our backyard with our guests, we are very close to everything that Bruce county has to offer, port Elgin, Southampton, golf courses, different accesses to saugeen river where u can go fishing canoeing, tubing etc., supermarkets, native reserve, sauble beach and dozens of other ones…all at max 15 minutes distance… in the property you will find everything u need for a peaceful stay, hard to describe everything you will find but u can read our reviews, some of them have beautiful descriptions of what is here for you, you must love animals, since we have our pets all around, u are also super welcome to bring yours. One of the high points of here is the interaction u will have with the pets, they are all super friendly and will play with u every time they see u, they believe u r here for them, between, dogs, cats, birds, rabbits etc they will be part of your stay, this is theyr home, u r theyr guests, that’s how they think, so u must be a pet lover. Joan is a wonderful host. Very thoughtful of her guests. Her land is beautiful. All of her sights are private and have a fireplace and picnic table. Her dogs Sid and Onyx are beautiful friendly dogs. We had a dog with us and they play all weekend. We are looking forward to going back within the next couple of months.

Loved our time at Joan's place. First time using hipcamp so had no idea what to expect, and it was awesome. I plan on returning many times, it is PERFECT, for cyclists who want to use it as a base camp or are through riding. Had a great time, 10/10 will return!

We had a great time there. Pedro is very welcoming. He prepared the firepit in advance. The hot tub is amazing! The shred is cozy and warm. Just make sure to bring your own kettle if you need hot water to make tea.

3 nights at Cabinco - Northern Bruce Peninsula

The place is nice. Very quiet. One hiccup we had no hydro for the 4 days we were there. Hydro line was malfunctioning and needed a electrician to come fix it. A good thing we had our generator, extra fuel on board. Hopefully next time things will be better. Ps Not a swimming spot! just paddle boarding or kayaking if you don't mind marsh waters to get to bigger waters to swim.

Most lovely host and welcome doggies. The dogs were super friendly and well mannered. The path to the river was well marked. Well placed and thoughtful sitting spots throughout the property. I didn't use the shower... But it looked very nice. Clean washroom facilities. Would definitely return

We loved everything about Pine The Sky. It’s got everything we were looking for: private camp site, shade, potable water, hot showers, an outhouse, a sheltered tent to hang out in, and a charging station for your phones!! What more could you ask for? This hip camp is a winner. Plus the host is super friendly and makes sure you have everything you need including an urn with coffee. We can’t wait to go back !

Joan was very thoughtful! Each child was left a gift of bubbles which brought them joy! Her banana bread was so delicious, and much appreciated. She also loaned us a can opener and a charge chord which was super helpful! Her trails were well marked and very easy to navigate. She has a lot of water toys to enjoy!

Beautiful location. We enjoyed staying at Lana's cottage. Close to a beach access and some beautiful provincial parks. Enjoyed that everything we needed was there. Loved the fires in the back yard. Great place to make special memories with our friends and family!

Weekend Trip to Cabinco - Northern Bruce Peninsula

My wife, our dog, and I had a great time staying here for 2 nights. The trailer is very comfortable and has everything you could possibly need, which made our stay easy and enjoyable. We would definitely consider coming back in the future. The only downside was that the site we chose offered almost no privacy, and the neighbouring site was very crowded and noisy with over 14 people, two tents, and three cars. I was under the impression that trailers usually have a maximum of 4 guests, so this was a bit unexpected. Overall, a good experience and a nice spot, but something to be aware of depending on the site you choose.

Weekend Trip to Time at the Shores

Super friendly Pedro was a fountain of knowledge and helpfulness upon our arrival. Pleasant relaxing night spent with 2 fur babies who had the time of their lives. Relaxing Hottub and an amazing fire & movie night. 15 min away from the beach and amazing restaurants. would highly recommend. Pedro even suggested a dog-friendly beach that was close by!
