If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 80 acres 8 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply turn into our driveway and drive right past our house following the dirt path. Turn left just down the hill to the River.
We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters.
Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch .
We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy .
We have a complementary canoe, 1 adult kayak, 1 adult SUP and 1 child’s kayaks . Life jackets and boat safety kits are also available . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks.
1 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies.
We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in.
The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 24 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more.
A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road .
If we plan it ahead we have water from our well from a hose available. We are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point or any jugs you may have.
Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a water filling station and dumping station there for a small fee from the park.
Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the Empire Cheese Factory and Chocolate Factory all within 10 minutes from our house . We also have local Breweries in the area, one being about 8 minutes away called the Fogorig Brewing.
Campbellford is full of little shops and stores.
It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen.
We usually touch base with our campers a week or so before there arrival date to give exact directions to our house via Hipcamp message.
Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival but we can ensure that we will always have someone by phone for you to reach if need be at all times.

The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river.
Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area.
All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals.
There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!!
PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices.
***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this.
We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests.
This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience.
Historical Significance of the property
When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place.
It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

A small, unassuming cabin located on top of a solid granite rock formation near the village of Tweed, only 10 minutes drive from town but it feels like you're away from it all. If you're looking for a solitude, this is the place.
It is a private cozy cabin situated on top of a hill on a 3/4 of an acre lot which is all granite.
You have to walk up the hill/rock for about 45 seconds from the driveway to get to the cabin, there are some landscaped stairs.
There are 4-5 parking spaces for vehicles.
Its a basic cabin, with a bathroom, kitchen and running water.
Drinking water is provided in an 18L container with an electronic spout/tap for drinking and cooking use during your stay. You can bring your own additional water in containers. The 18L container can be refilled at the local grocery store (10 mins away) for $3.
There is hydro in the cabin, space heaters, interior and exterior lighting, extension cords and lamps.
There is a kitchen with an electric stove, oven, microwave, espresso and coffee makers, kitchen essentials, utensils, pots and pans.
There is a propane BBQ, and a fire pit for your use.
There is ample firewood on site for you to use, and we have a fire permit for the year.
Common use dock and small boat, kayak, canoe launch is about 1 minute walking distance across the street, this dock is on the Moira river which leads into the bigger Stoco Lake.
Vanderwater Conservation area is a few minutes away. There are lots of country roads for biking. The Moira river is great for fishing, paddling and boating.
Cabin has a sofa which converts to a pull-out double bed, one single/twin size bed with fitted sheets, and two rollaway twin size cots. All beds have fitted sheets. You have to bring your own linens, blankets, comforters and pillows. You can also bring sleeping bags and put them on top of the beds if that's your preference.
There is a stereo system with aux-in cables and bluetooth receiver to connect to the headphone jack on your phones to play music.

If you want privacy and seclusion this is your place . Our family lives on 80 acres 8 minutes from the town of Campbellford. We are on a dead end road out in the country. Upon arrival simply turn into our driveway and drive right past our house following the dirt path. Turn left just down the hill to the River.
We are located on Bradley Bay on the Trent river with kms of lock free boating between Percy Boom and Glen Ross . We are located across from an island called Anderson island. Pike, pickeral, bass , Muskie ,channel cat ,and pan fish are in these waters.
Our point is very private with plenty of birds and wild life to watch .
We have one of our trails marked clearly threw out the woods for you to enjoy .
We have a complementary canoe, 1 adult kayak, 1 adult SUP and 1 child’s kayaks . Life jackets and boat safety kits are also available . On the point we have a small fire pit and 2 docks.
1 of the docks face the river and one is up our little lagoon . A wonderful place for adults and children alike to fish , swim , relax and catch frogs and fire flies.
We do have a few chairs and a child’s little turtle pool to swim and play in.
The point is a long narrow grassy area. There are about 3 spots you could park a trailer . We think currently the max length would be a 24 foot trailer we could accommodate until we are able to open up the area a bit more.
A small fishing boot about 14 foot and under could be launched at our water entry otherwise the closest public launch is about 5 minutes down the road .
If we plan it ahead we have water from our well from a hose available. We are happy to let you fill your trailer up with water from our house hose on the way down to the point or any jugs you may have.
Otherwise Ferris Provincial Park is about 7 minutes away. There is a water filling station and dumping station there for a small fee from the park.
Things to do In area is the well known suspension bridge located in Campbellford. Doohers bakery and the Empire Cheese Factory and Chocolate Factory all within 10 minutes from our house . We also have local Breweries in the area, one being about 8 minutes away called the Fogorig Brewing.
Campbellford is full of little shops and stores.
It’s a beautiful walk back towards our house and down the laneway to the road as well. Great quiet country road for children and adults alike to go for a bike ride or walk along the road beside farmers fields where usually deer and sandhill cranes are seen.
We usually touch base with our campers a week or so before there arrival date to give exact directions to our house via Hipcamp message.
Upon arrival if arranged ahead of time we can be here to meet and greet you and ensure you are settled in. Otherwise there isn't a guarantee we will be at the property upon arrival but we can ensure that we will always have someone by phone for you to reach if need be at all times.

The Stonefield Gazebos has 3 luxurious units on a beautiful 100 + acre piece of heaven. Our original Lakeside Gazebo is steps from our private lake with its own dock. The White Oaks Gazebo is in our old white oak forest and The Cedars is in our Cedar forest beside a stream and river.
Each of these 3 luxurious units are not in close proximity to each other. We designed it this way in order to give our guests the utmost privacy. Each gazebo has its own chic and private outhouse with shower area.
All gazebos have beautiful beds with comfy and ultra soft bedding. They are equip with everything you should need from plates, cutlery, BBQ utensils, tea kettle, coffee french press, wine glasses, cups etc. There is a propane BBQ with a side burner ready to cook your meals.
There is a dock where you will find the canoes, a kayak, paddles and life jackets. If you paddle out to the middle of the lake you will find a raft with 2 lounge chairs and an umbrella on it. Bring some drinks and snacks, because once there, you will not want to leave. Our curious loons will no doubt swim up close to say hello. Enjoy!!
PLEASE NOTE: This retreat does not have electricity. However, a small, silent portable power station is available in each accommodation for guests who wish to charge their phones, laptops and small electrical devices.
***This property is an animal-free zone due to SEVERE allergies. Please don't ask if you can bring your dog, cat etc, or try to sneak them in. This applies to service animals as well unfortunately. Just because different terms are used to describe the same thing, a dog is a dog etc, whether it is your pet or a service animal. Although we do sympathize with people who require service animals, my severe allergies do not know the difference and I do not want to die. Our property is exempt from domestic animals entering the grounds, we ask that you please respect this.
We also have deer and other creatures that live around the gazebos. The scent of a dog or other animal would scare them off, fundamentally changing the nature of the experience and impacting it for other guests.
This is a beautiful opportunity to reconnect with nature and yourselves, disconnect from the grid and stresses of everyday life. It's a pretty special place and a one of a kind experience.
Historical Significance of the property
When we first saw the property we were awestruck by its beauty and allure. We were captured by the natural springs, river and stream. It wasn't until after the deal closed that we found out that we also had a lake. What an incredible surprise and gift. It also wasn't until much later that we learned about the historical significance of this special place.
It turns out that our property is part of the Percy Portage, which was an important route used for centuries by the Hurons, Iroquois and Mississaugas. It also formed the basis of the first road in the region in the early 19th century for settlers an those heading north. Samuel de Champlain used this portage in September 1615 when he travelled south with his Huron and Algonquin allies on their way to upstate New York. In the 1970's, a group of students from Trent University retraced and marked the route by adding orange metal markers to some of the trees along the way. Some of them are still present today.

A small, unassuming cabin located on top of a solid granite rock formation near the village of Tweed, only 10 minutes drive from town but it feels like you're away from it all. If you're looking for a solitude, this is the place.
It is a private cozy cabin situated on top of a hill on a 3/4 of an acre lot which is all granite.
You have to walk up the hill/rock for about 45 seconds from the driveway to get to the cabin, there are some landscaped stairs.
There are 4-5 parking spaces for vehicles.
Its a basic cabin, with a bathroom, kitchen and running water.
Drinking water is provided in an 18L container with an electronic spout/tap for drinking and cooking use during your stay. You can bring your own additional water in containers. The 18L container can be refilled at the local grocery store (10 mins away) for $3.
There is hydro in the cabin, space heaters, interior and exterior lighting, extension cords and lamps.
There is a kitchen with an electric stove, oven, microwave, espresso and coffee makers, kitchen essentials, utensils, pots and pans.
There is a propane BBQ, and a fire pit for your use.
There is ample firewood on site for you to use, and we have a fire permit for the year.
Common use dock and small boat, kayak, canoe launch is about 1 minute walking distance across the street, this dock is on the Moira river which leads into the bigger Stoco Lake.
Vanderwater Conservation area is a few minutes away. There are lots of country roads for biking. The Moira river is great for fishing, paddling and boating.
Cabin has a sofa which converts to a pull-out double bed, one single/twin size bed with fitted sheets, and two rollaway twin size cots. All beds have fitted sheets. You have to bring your own linens, blankets, comforters and pillows. You can also bring sleeping bags and put them on top of the beds if that's your preference.
There is a stereo system with aux-in cables and bluetooth receiver to connect to the headphone jack on your phones to play music.

Dale's yurt-style tent was an excellent spot for us to meet up and rest for one night before our canoe trip in the Kawartha Highlands. Dale was quick to respond to my questions and went out of his way to provide wine glasses. The electric fireplace was a welcome feature on a cool night. We made breakfast at the well-supplied outdoor kitchen. The light at the outhouse was a nice touch, though it could have used some cleaning. Thanks a bunch, Dale.

1 night at Foresthill Retreat
We had a wonderful time here. The place was private, beautiful, clean and cozy. Dale was an amazing host - super responsive, flexible and a pleasure to deal with. If the outdoor shower setup and the outhouse can be fixed up a bit that would make it even more comfortable, but overall it was a great value for the price and I would 100% recommend this.

Natalie's bunkie is a truly magical place! The cabin itself is so cozy and thoughtfully provisioned with everything you could need all season round, from practical supplies like cutlery and cookware and a wood-burning stove to keep you warm on cool autumn nights to board games and paperback books and even a portable DVD player for makeshift movie screenings, if you can peel your eyes away from the view of the starry night sky.
The bunkie sits on a scenic body of water and a waterfall that make for great canoeing and swimming or admiring over morning coffee, and the rest of Natalie's property is bursting with whimsical art installments as well as gardens, fire pits, fairy lights, and fields of flowers.
My partner and I have visited twice - in the summer and the in the fall - and have found each season and each stay so uniquely gorgeous and relaxing. If you are looking for a place to retreat from the noise of the world, the bunkie is perfect. Natalie is so warm and welcoming and has put so much care and attention into providing people with a home away from home.

The host was super helpful! We were blessed with gorgeous weather which made the kayaks an even better bonus! Great spot right by the water, we even caught a couple fish off the dock. We are definitely booking again. Thanks for having us!

3 nights at Ranger on Rice!
The type of person you are and your expectations of what should be…determines how you accept your stay anywhere you go!!!
I can ABSOLUTELY say that my stay with my son at Tara’s piece of heaven on earth…known to most as…land…was wayyyy more than what I hoped for!!!
There was so much going on around us…and you know what…we didn’t even notice a thing going on…unless we wanted to notice something going on! Plain n Simple!!!
We were on a FAMILY owned PARADISE…with amazing people all around…no matter which way you poke a stick at it!
Peter…you’re a great man and just from our talks…I want you to know that I will forever be at your beck and call…WHEREVER and WHENEVER you need ANY sort of help!
Will most definitely be returning and for at least a month buddy!!!

Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat
Dale's site is an ideal getaway for a couple who wants to go camping somewhere secluded but is no longer comfortable in a pop-up tent, on the floor with your own amenities.
Dale's site is basic, but in the best way. The tent, the amenities and especially the bed were quite spacious and comfortable. It has very thing you need ( but food. That's all you need to bring).
I highly recommend The site if you want to go Glamping on a budget and you're transitioning from regular camping to something more special and accommodating. Very well worth the price and will definitely book again..

Weekend Trip to Ranger on Rice!
Had a great stay! Peaceful, rejuvenating simple days.
Pros:
+ The RV is well furnished and comfortable. Sink, flush toilet, full fridge and even microwave!
+ Close to the lake, great if you have a boat.
+ Good fishing, little weedy but a good time.
+ Everything was clean.
+ Everyone was very friendly and accommodating!
Cons:
- The space is quite open and not very private if you're hoping for a "camping" feeling experience.
- The trees are by the lake so there isn't any shade or shelter. I'd recommend bringing a canopy or beach tent.
- The RV is older and not completely bug proof, our swatter got plenty of use.
Overall quite pleased and highly recommend staying here. Consider the RV a significant upgrade to a tent, get out on the lake if you can, you'll have a great time!

Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat
We had a great stay at Forest Hill Retreat! The tent was lovely, well-equipped, and kept us warm and dry all night, even through some rain. It had everything we needed, though we did wish there was a small kettle inside. Since it rained in the morning, we couldn’t make coffee, and the gazebo shelter didn’t have the proper cover, so it didn’t provide much rain protection.
The site itself is beautiful and surrounded by lots of trees, but you can still hear a fair bit of car noise from nearby roads. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re looking for total quiet.
One of our favorite parts of the stay was watching movies under the stars by the fire—it was such a cozy and unique experience that really made the trip special! Overall, Forest Hill Retreat is a beautiful and relaxing getaway, and with a few small improvements, it would be absolutely perfect.

Weekend Trip to Cabin in the Woods

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Heron Bunkie. Super cute and cozy cabin; the host even put a little fire in the wood stove, so we’d have a warm first night. We scored with the view and I scored with a kindred spirit who owns this beautiful land. Did I mention the outdoor shower? Divine.

This was my first Hipcamp experience, and Natalie has set the bar extremely high. She is a fantastic host - wonderful to deal with and very responsive. The Heron Bunkie was immaculate, and had everything you could need including a great little fridge, lights, a small wood stove (and wood), comfy bed and little touches like coffee (plus a coffee maker with filters) and ice cubes ready to go. The setting was lovely, despite the drier than normal conditions - peaceful. Multiple blue heron sightings, too, and a mystery critter in the pond. (She supplies binoculars!) Having coffee sitting on the generous deck was a treat, as was dinners prepared on the bbq. Amazingly, there were very few mosquitoes, so sitting outside to read or have a beverage was truly enjoyable. Being away from any city, the stargazing was stellar, too. My pup was made to feel really welcome, and she started to look for Natalie daily. All in all, a lovely, relaxing experience. Thank you so much, Natalie. You're the best. Not a surprise that Ginny didn't want to get out of the car when we got home!

Weekend Trip to The Cozy Cabin on the River
Katie was very nice everything you need for utensils too cooking pots and BBQ grills all at your disposal they give you one bag of firewood for each tent or cabin and if you want to burn more there is more available at the top of the hill for 10$ :) the place was kept clean mind you are pretty close to the highway so it may get noisy from time to time but nothing too crazy. All and all my wife and me had a wonderful relaxation here. Will definitely recommend too others.

We really enjoyed our stay, Peter was prompt at helping us when we needed it. This is a great place if you like peace and quiet. We enjoyed watching the sunset over the hill and the sunrise over the lake. Lots of geese and other birds to watch and listen to.
