Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022.
I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life.
The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood.
Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest.
My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things.
The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights.
Guests are asked to remove excessive garbage and recycling when possible.

Our 360 acres is located in Paisley Ontario in the Township of Bruce. We have 5 multi-acre sites for Boondock camping that offer beautiful breezes off of Lake Huron and quiet private pastoral settings. Each site is groomed and offers a fire pit. You can bring up to 7 trailers into each site for a multi-trailer experience.
We have approx 15 km of groomed trails to hike, trail run, walk all through Bruce County. We are close to numerous quaint Ontario towns and villages offering shops, bakeries, restaurants and more.
The Saugeen River is located very close to the properties and you can rent kayaks in Paisley and go down the river towards Lake Huron.
Lake Huron is a pristine great lake and we offer great beaches within 20 minute drive...
Our settings are perfect for small or large gatherings and are private and secluded.
Unfortunately we do not offer water, septic or hydro so your trailer needs to be self sustaining.
TRAILERS and MOTORHOMES are the preferred method of camping.
It is being used for Boondocking, weddings, mediation and yoga retreats and we look forward to hosting you also soon.

This was a magical and tranquil camping escape. The waterfront spot was perfectly quiet and peaceful. The clear skies and zero light pollution provided phenomenal stargazing nightly. Chris was very generous host. He provided us an abundant and complimentary supply of firewood. It made our evenings effortless and cozy. We will definitely return!

We had an amazing stay at Carl’s place! The location is peaceful and beautifully maintained – it felt like having the whole forest to ourselves. The fall colors around the pond were absolutely stunning, and paddling there was pure calm. Everything was spotless, the hookups (including water) worked perfectly, and there was plenty of firewood ready for us. It’s a wonderful place to unwind and enjoy nature – we’d be happy to come back again!

Wadda lovely little gem! Well maintained tree lined field with wee swim able pond right there close. Campsites are visible to each other but far enough away so you can't hear the others. One outside that was a bit of a walk but clean. Will go back here

What a way to end the camping season!
We were fortunate enough to experience Spring, Summer and Fall on Carl & Marsha's gorgeous property! We also got to share it with our eldest son and grandkids and just finished another weekend with our youngest!
Getting to watch the little animal family grow was an extra treat too! Baby sheep from last year are no longer babies, the babies from the spring have grown so much. Every trip was an amazing, much needed escape from "real life" and every season brought different views.
SO many memories were made on this property this year and we are beyond grateful.
Carl & Marsha are truly two of the kindest, most genuine, helpful people and we are so happy that we have managed to meet them and spend so much time on their property!!
Countdown to next year is already on.

This place is our new favourite place. We had the pond site - 4 adults and a child plus our dog and we have decided this will be an annual family event. The site was stunning ! We kayaked and use the paddle board and swam everyday ! My grandson loved the animals and knew them by name after feeding them our daily scraps. Such a pleasure to deal with fantastic hosts !

We stayed 3 nights at the pond view site. The camp was exactly what we were looking for, quiet, peaceful and private. The RV sites are spread out far enough that you can't see the other camps. The property was clean and tidy and our site had full hook ups for our RV.
Carl was easy to communicate with and responded promptly to messages. We had a mechanical issue and had to bump our reservation back and day. Carl accommodated our request without any penalties.
We would stay at Carl's property again!

Excellent campsite, the river access is a great spot with stairs going down. Do wear good water shoes for the large rocks.
We made a raft of four donuts and floated down the river to the conservation site. Very fun, the trek up river was a task as the river seems slow when going down. Have fun!
Next to the field we saw lots of butterflies and stars!

Where to go
Owen Sound to Wiarton
Along the 35-kilometre stretch between Owen Sound and the town of Wiarton, family-oriented campgrounds are plentiful. Mountain Lake Camp, Bass Lake Park, and Bluewater Park all offer natural lakes for swimming.
Sauble Beach
The cottage community of Sauble Beach sits on the western side of the peninsula, on Lake Huron. Several campgrounds and camping resorts surround the town and many offer swimming pools, playgrounds, and other family-friendly amenities. Sauble Beach is a popular spot in summer, so don’t expect solitude! Visiting off-season (after Labour Day) will provide a more relaxing experience.
To Access the Bruce Trail
The Bruce Trail follows the Niagara Escarpment from Niagara Falls to Tobermory, at the top of the Bruce Peninsula, but camping is not allowed on the trail itself. Harrison Park Campground provides access to the Bruce Trail via a side trail, while Bass Lake Park offers camping further north, just a short drive to a trail access point.
When to go
Hikers will enjoy the Bruce Trail access all year, but the most comfortable times to hike the trail are spring and fall. Summer can be hot and buggy (and busy), but if swimming and hanging out on the beach are your priorities, June to August is the best time for you. Snowshoers and cross-country skiers make the most of winter in the area, but most campgrounds will be closed from October to mid-May.
Know before you go
- Right in Owen Sound, Kelso Beach Park offers a sandy beach and a popular splash pad for kids. It’s a great stop after a long drive.
- Fans of the Group of Seven painter Tom Thomson should visit the Tom Thomson Art Gallery in Owen Sound, open Wednesday to Saturday from noon to 4pm.
- The 900-kilometre Bruce Trail passes through hundreds of private properties. Be sure to respect landowners when you use the trail—carry out your litter and stay on the marked routes with white or blue blazes.
