Our remote off grid property in the forest east of Eagle Lake is a great place to disconnect and decompress. The roadside Bunkie sleeps 2 comfortably and can accommodate a RV trailer or tent as well. Pets are welcome. The property has a pit toilet, and campfires are allowed in the designated pit. There is also potable water in the bin with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ area. In the winter water would have to be stored inside. Linen not provided. You’ll wake up surrounded by trees and can explore the great hiking, nature viewing, atv trails and boating in the summer months. In the winter enjoy glaming in the propane heated bunkie, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snow machine trails at the door. Wildlife is all around. Several lakes and parks are nearby, including Mikisew Provincial Park on Eagle Lake, about 20 km south, where you can go boating, paddling, or swimming and Algonquin Provincial Park is close as well with many lakes and hiking trails. Some restaurants and stores can be found in the South River, about 20 km away.

Welcome to my beautiful piece of Central Almaguin Off grid camping. I live on 8.25 acres of level fairly open land. 10 min NE of South River The campground is about 3 acres, with 3 sites Beside a small lake, Wendigo Lake, with a wide creek exiting the lake . Paddling distance to 2 other lakes that feed into Wendigo lake. very quiet, private place, stress free, excellent for relaxing, great place for staging daytrips, safe if you want to do a few days in Algonquin Park. dogs and pets welcome, but must be leashed on the property. I have a friendly dog Penny. the sunsets here are awesome, see pics Located only 12 kms from West entrance to Algonquin Park. Dark skies and fairly open area for stargazing. Many walking trails close by . ATV trails and tours nearby also. Bird migration route, excellent for bird watching. In my 10 yrs here I have seen 97 different species of birds on the property or flying over. Very private, closest neighbor 3/4 km away. Bring your own camp toilet please.

Marten River Escapes offers six waterfront campsites with 30 amp hydro service and three non waterfront campsites, one with 30 amp and two with 50 amp service. A couple are seasonal sites, most are transient sites. All have access to potable water faucets. A shared comfort station with flush toilets and showers with hot on demand water is centrally located. There is no sewer connections but we do have a honey wagon and guests can access dumping into our onsite septic tank. We also have one rustic glamping cabin in the campground area and a new 14 unit building under construction on the southeast portion of the property. There is an on site restaurant offering dine-in, patio seating, and take out service. (seasonally operated - hours vary depending on the season) In addition to the amenities available on the campsite you will also have access to enjoy the common shared areas of the property. Our property boasts 1000' of waterfront surrounded by crown land. We have a new shared dock with Muskoka chairs and a (typical Northern Ontario) swimming area in our semi-secluded bay. We recommend water shoes for those who go swimming and to bring a fishing rod (and fishing license) if you want to give that sport a go. A sunshade pergola was just added to the main dock area with several other seating areas scattered around the property providing relaxing water views and spectacular sunsets, all available for your enjoyment. There is a large open area to enjoy a game of frisbee or other lawn games. We also have a few water toys. A canoe, a kayak, a peddle boat and two small (fishing type) motor boats are available for a small rental FEE. You must have a valid boaters license in order to be able to rent the motor boat. All water equipment renters must sign a renters agreement prior to use. Due to sizing and proper fit, for safety we do recommend guests bring their own life jackets/pfd's but we do have some that can be used. We have a private boat launch and for a small extra fee you can reserve a dedicated boat slip space during your stay for your own personal watercraft. Boats or other water toy equipment are NOT to be left on the shore. A few local public boat launches into different lakes are also nearby. For those powersports enthusiasts (ATV's, SXS etc.) there are 100's of km's of crown land trails accessible from our property. We do NOT rent ATV's. There is space to park ONE passenger vehicle along with your rv/trailer or tents on each campsite. VERY large trucks will limit the usable lawn space available on the site. Extra passenger vehicles and/or equipment trailers must park in overflow parking.

I cant say enough good things about this place. It was absolutely beautiful. A large open area with a nicely crafted xl picnic table and fire pit. There was water and a garbage can on site. There were lots of trails and bodies of water everywhere. Dan was an awesome host and was more than helpful. My only drawback was lack of cellular service (Bell mobility). But honestly the total disconnect was definitely needed. First time I slept for 8 hours in months. Love love love it and I will be back very soon.

Had the place all to myself this time! Was hoping to enjoy the stars, alas the clouds rolled in. The rain although short was incredibly sweet. Made my way up to Seven Lake, saw an old trapper cabin and a moose. Oodles of hummingbirds and raspberries!!! Site 3 has the perfect combo of sun and shade. Dan (as always) is the perfect host!!! I’ll be back in 3 weeks!!!

A pleasure to visit & enjoy a serene camp! A unique place lush with flora while featuring striking traces of local history. Camp's easy to access & close to nearby sights, trails, parks. Yet removed enough to be immersed in nature. Creekside Camp is truly a site to enjoy in & of itself. The marshland, lake & creeks are stunning, peaceful. Dan has a true respect & care for the plant & animal life native to his property and you'll enjoy the benefits of being surrounded by the aliveness because of it. The scent of marsh plants is exquisite. Tune into early morning birds & pollinators, meet the otters. Sunrise here is breathtaking. Then listen to night on the creek come to life as stars appear & your fire crackles. The splashes of beavers was exciting for me & especially hearing the resident moose walk into the marsh in deep dusk. I was lucky to spot her too! A wander through the wood was fun as well. Dan is a kind, welcoming host & very generous to share his home. A nice soul to encounter & chat with, who knows lots about the land, local history & area. He provided plenty of water & firewood (bring cash for hardwood). Covered picnic table's a nice bonus for relaxed meal prep & occasional break from mosquitos. Kayaks are free to use to enjoy the surroundings from creek level (recommended!). You could wade in Wendigo- perhaps not a swimmer's lake if that's your thing. Then again, I didn't try it! You should camp here anyway. THANKS very much Dan for sharing your beautiful home.

This was a cozy little spot along the lake. Close to the road, but the traffic was not a bother to us. It was great to have the option to use the showers/bathrooms on site! Most importantly, the hosts were extremely kind and generous and made us feel right at home!

My friend and I tented it on a Friday night. Beautiful spot and very private. We were lucky enough to have the whole place to ourselves. A bit noisy at night with the hwy being right there, the only drawback. Hospitality was great. Not much signage, but gps will bring you to the 2 pylons set up and make a left to enter the property.

The site (site 2) was spacious and the water view was beautiful. Very private and host had water and firewood at the ready. There were lots of flies (horse flies, mosquitoes, and blackflies. The bullfrogs are loud at night. All in all, was a very nice site if you’re prepared!

4 nights at CREEKSIDE Camp

We spent 4 nights on site #2. The site is large with plenty of privacy. The shelter was a bonus to keep gear dry and bug free. The firewood supplied was well seasoned and easy to burn. It was just a short walk to launch our fishing kayaks in the beautiful Lake. The sunsets are stellar, and the nights are very peaceful. Dan was an exceptional host who would check in daily to see if we needed anything. We had several conversations with him about the area and his knowledge is extensive. The history of his property is also really cool as you can actually walk into a couple of the old charcoal kilns. His sidekick Penny (his dog) was very friendly, and you could see the strong bond between them. We'd highly recommend visiting his place, and we will definitely be back again. Dan is the man!! Cheers!

Stayed 1 night with my boyfriend and pup and this has definitely been our favorite hipcamp stay. Dan was so nice and such an awesome host. Also very accommodating and knowledgeable about the land. Loved the use of the kayaks and the screened picnic table was awesome as well. The scenery was breathtaking so peace full and beautiful. Will definitely be back and will make sure we stay longer!
