Enjoying a good book or a walk on the property looking out for Wild Turkey's, Coyotes, Raccoons, Ground hogs and a variety of Bird's. Take an evening walk to the top of the hill to catch a beautiful farm sunset over the corn fields. Local businesses nearby are Brooks Farm Playground and Market 2 min up the road. Rose Family Farm with fresh cut fries 4 min away. Musselman's Lake is a 6 min drive to enjoy the fabulous Fishbone on the Lake, casual outdoor dining. In nearby Stouffville find Timber Creek Mini Golf, Gallucci Winery, Willow Springs Winery + Tree top trekking at Bruce's Mill. Nearby restaurants in Ballantrae. In the quaint little town of Mt. Albert 5 min with an LCBO in it open till 8pm daily. Ballantrae Ultramar 6 min away also has an LCBO open till 11 pm daily. Uxbridge is nearby and a large variety of restaurants and shopping Lots to check out in the area, or simply stay put at The Shack and enjoy cooking a meal on the BBQ in the outdoor kitchen area (propane included) and relaxing by the bonfire (wood included). The Shack is equipped with some cooking items, pots + pans, BBQ and utensils, knives, cutlery, plates, coffee cups, bowls, glasses + (wine glasses) cutting board, tray, kettle and a small chest cooler to keep your food and drinks cold (you will need to bring the ice) Dish washing rack is provided, as well as large jugs of clean potable water for cooking/drinking and doing the dishes. Welcome to Cedar Creek Forest Camping! Voted second best campsite in Canada in 2021 and ranked number 2 in Ontario in 2022. I have 97 acres of very private camping. The forest is a bird watcher’s and nature lover’s paradise. I have developed miles of flat groomed trails and a 3-acre pond (plus several bush ponds). The sites are spread around the pond and are close but not right beside it. There is an abundant amount of wildlife to explore: birds, reptiles, amphibians, fish, insects and mammals call this home. There is a small swimming hole on the island but otherwise the pond is full of aquatic life. The sites and trails are maintained all year long and the forest is quiet and beautiful. I have planted over 3000 trees with the help of the Severn Sound Environmental Association. The forest is registered as a managed woodlot with the province and habitat preservation/restoration is the priority goal. Please DO NOT bring firewood for your visit. I have large bags of cured firewood that was sustainable harvested from the forest available. Invasive insects and disease can be transferred from imported wood. Guests are welcome to quietly explore the forest trails but are asked to stay on the trail. Many birds and animals nest in the forest. My campsite is family-friendly (and pet-friendly), and 420 friendly too. Guests can easily drive up to and park at all campsites. My camp site is tolerant and respectful of all humans, animals and things. The Yurtle structures were built from Hemlock trees that were cut from this forest and processed into boards, then engineered into unique camping huts. Large windows capture the glory of the surrounding forest and sun sets, while wood stoves warm campers on those cold days/nights. Being avid hikers ourselves, we realize that there are not a lot of accommodations just off the Bruce Trail. So our main goal is to assist hikers as they explore the Bruce Trail. Whether you are doing the ‘end-to-end ‘ in one go (Bravo!), or doing a more relaxed multi day hike, our little bunkie will be a welcome place to lay your head at the end of the day. Our forest bunkie is nestled in the woods, a few minutes walk off the trail, and conveniently located approximately at the half way point of the Caledon Hills section. You truly feel like you are one with nature here. At night you may hear the coyotes howling in the distance or hear the local raccoons out on their nightly stroll. You have complete privacy at the bunkie. However, if you need assistance our home isn’t too far away. Please note that it is an off-grid bunkie…which means no electricity! We do have lamps available in the bunkie, however bringing your own headlamp or flashlight is recommended. There is a cute, private outhouse w/ washbasin. We have an outdoor shower a little ways away from the bunkie site, with hot water. There is a double bed in the loft. The pull out couch on the main level also can be converted to a double bed. There is no running water at bunkie, however we will have some potable water provided. You will be met upon arrival. PLEASE NOTE: *There is a strict NO fire rule anywhere on the property. *There is a hill (w/some forest stairs) that you will have to navigate to get to bunkie site. Mono Mills is 6 minutes away w/ Starbucks, Tim Hortons, gas stations, pizza. Hockley Village is 7 minutes away, with the must visit Hockley Valley General Store. Orangeville is 15 mins away for all food and supplies you may need. We can assist w/ Bruce Trail (Caledon Hills Section) pick ups/ drop offs if we are available.

Weekend Trip to Bruce Trail Bunkie

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the bunkie! We were doing a long hike along the Bruce trail and MJ was very flexible with our arrival and departure, and parking situation. We had a different date booked previously, but it turned out to be a very rainy weekend so we canceled and she was so accommodating with rescheduling After our long day of hiking, I was so excited to get to the bunkie and relax. I kicked off the boots and flopped into the hammock with my feet up. Perfection. We had everything we needed to cook up our dinner and have a fire and we slept like rocks. We got rained on a bit but having the bunkie to retreat to was very comfortable. Everything was amazing and we would totally recommend to everyone!

Toronto is a hectic city, and when I flew in for a few days of meetings, I wanted a place to adjust to the jet lag and recover from travel, so I stayed at the bunkie and turned my phones off and slept like a log. Highly recommend this spot if you want a retreat from the city!

This cabin was completely secluded - you couldn't hear anything at all and was surrounded with woods. Everything you could possibly need for a relaxing and peaceful stay was provided plus more. The wood stove warmed the cabin perfectly which was extremely clean and the bed was super comfy. Gavin and Della were available via text and responded to questions immediately. My boyfriend and I would definitely go back and I've already recommended the spot to my son.

Super cool spot! Private, cosy, silent and pitch black at night, awesome ventilation in the sleeping loft. The bunkie is an awesome build, and the main sitting area has a really comfortable vibe (rug, couch, blanket, map of the bruce trail). We loved it. Just stopped in for a night on a longer journey, but would absolutely come back.

1 night at The Taiga Animal Sanctuary

I had such a beautiful experience at the Taiga Animal Sanctuary. The whole place felt incredibly peaceful, and being surrounded by such friendly, well-cared-for animals made it even more special. We arrived much earlier than the check-in time of 3 PM, and Jenny was so kind and welcoming—she graciously allowed us to check in early, which we truly appreciated. Her warmth really set the tone for our visit. Overall, it was a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and I left with such lovely memories. I would definitely recommend this sanctuary to friends and anyone looking for a calm, unique getaway.

2 nights at WÄRME Sauna Cabin: Couples Retreat

We loved the cabin, the vibe and especially the hot tub, sauna, bbq and being just enough off grid! A simple time, a fun time! The cabin is quaint, cosy and comfortable. Fire heated, will all the things you need to cook a nice meal. Private and super dog friendly!
