The Point... The main shared area "The Point", is the peninsula that the main roadway ends at (where the BBQ, kayaks and canoes are), this is a shared area for us and our guests to enjoy. The Point offers a large picnic table, a propane BBQ, comfortable seating, a large rock perfect for sunbathing, and a river view. It's an ideal spot for swimming and launching canoes, kayaks, or paddle-board river excursions, thanks to its shallow entry and rocky bottom. Adventurous visitors might choose to paddle upriver, around an island, and return through the remaining historic canal. For a more strenuous workout, consider paddling up the canal to the Grenville lighthouse and then drifting all the way back to camp with the river's current. All we ask of our visitors is: that whatever you bring in you take home with you, that you leave your campsite and the property the way you found it, and the only thing you take from here are pictures and happy memories. All of our campsites are off-grid, un-serviced, drive-in camping. Campfire wood and recycling facilities are available on site. Maintained outhouses are available throughout the property. There is no potable water on the property so please bring your own drinking and cooking water. Children under 12 can camp for free. When booking a campsite please only include any guests over 12 years of age in your guest count. Children under 12 do not need to be included in your booking. Contact us to inquire about large group and event rates. We host LARPing weekends twice a month. We also have a limited number of seasonal sites available from June to September. I love this property and all the people who visit us, many have become extended family and for this I am grateful. There is nothing nicer than to have people drop by and spend a couple of hours, a day or a weekend, sometime when I get real lucky it's for a longer period of time :-)

A few things we will mention but really there is much more that we could say. Space glorious space. Awesome departure point for kayaking. Friendly. Wholesome laidback feel. Level camp spot. We absolutely loved the site! The directions were very clear, and the host Brien was incredibly kind and welcoming. I definitely recommend this place! We even went swimming, the water was warm, and we really enjoyed every part of the site and everything it had to offer.

Gorgeous property. Each site has shorefront - I’m talkin’ 4-5 feet from the shore! There is a nice group area with a screen room, gas grill, chairs on rocks over the water, oodles of water toys (canoes, kayaks, sups) or just wade out into the water. I was there in mid-August and was surprised that the water was nice, tepid-warm. There are two nice parks (under the bridge and next to canal), shopping, restaurants w/i 10 minutes. Plus, Brien is a fantastic host, welcoming and will share the history of the property and the area. I spent a week and enjoyed the property, exploring the area and Ottawa, but wished I could have stayed longer just to swing in my hammock next to the river. Thanks Brien, Jen, and the boys for a lovely stay!

Gorgeous, natural property, warm river, oodles of boats/sup to play with, nice gathering spot with screen room and grill to congregate at, and wonderful hosts! Brien is a lovely host who tells interesting stories about the history of the property and area. There are a variety of decks and chairs and hammocks directly on the water to choose from. Definitely make use of the sups/kayaks/canoes and head up river to the bridge. There are two nice parks nearby (over bridge and by canal) and shopping with 5-10 minutes. Thanks so much Brien and Jen for a great week.

We love camping and dining at Domaine de la Templerie! Warm, friendly guests, a beautiful restaurant with gorgeous gardens and delicious food and a terrific farm. The campsite is nice and shady and well appointed with water, electricity and firewood. It’s our second year there and will make it an annual tradition.

Very beautiful place!! So happy to have found it. The pull through site is very large and very easy to pull right in. Has a really nice little private deck right by the water to sit on. Hammocks all over, nice adirondack chairs everywhere. Theres a really nice common area with a mosquito tent with a table inside, a bbq and beach area! Nice place to swim. Brien is a fantastic host. Super friendly. Very responsive and accommodating. We will definitely go back!

We had an amazing stay this weekend, even though it was raining a lot! The campsite was beautiful, very private, and exactly what we were looking for. Brian was an excellent host—he came to welcome us, showed us around, and made us feel right at home. His communication was outstanding, and he responded to my questions almost immediately throughout the booking process. We really enjoyed our time here and appreciated how peaceful it was. We will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a relaxing getaway!
