Spend your days relaxing and playing on our sandy beach, and swimming in our small lake and pool. We offer full sun, partial sun and totally shaded sites, ensuring you will find your perfect spot!Our park has tons of fun activities to engage in, such as volleyball, badminton, basketball, a horseshoe pit, and shuffleboard. We are also close to Jessup’s Falls Conservation Area where you can launch a boat and spend the day fishing for walleye, pike, and smallmouth bass. The Alfred Bog is 10 minutes away, which at 10,000 acres is the largest peak bog in Southern Ontario! There, you can hike and explore the community of animals, plants and birds. Adventure seekers can visit the nearby Ottawa River and experience white water rafting with one of the many local outfitters. Our park staff are bilingual in French and English and can easily communicate with our guests in both languages. Rivendell

Rivendell is a 9.1 Acre solar powered off-grid homestead/retreat.  It was built by artists and is truly magical.  The driveway is 700 ft. long, so it is very private.  There is a year round stream at the back of the property and many walking paths throughout the grounds.  

Hidden Meadow Camping

Our property was purchased and farmed by my ancestors in 1803. They cleared the meadow area of trees and rocks and established the stone wall, enclosing the area. A hemlock and pine forest at the edge of the meadow leads to our 50-acre wetland preserve which provides habitat for many bird and wildlife species. Native people also camped,hunted and trapped here in the early 1800s.Learn more about this land:Relax in a secluded meadow, wander through old Hemlock forest trails and watch many varieties of birds and other wildlife on 60 acres of wetland preserve. A very private spot with space for gatherings, tipis, tents, vans -- all are welcome.Absolutely beautiful night skies due to a lack of light pollution.Only 5 minutes away from the village, where you can pick up groceries and whatever else you need.Kids 12 and under can stay for free.

A Little HistoryThe original "A FRAME" camp was built by Randy Mearkley grandson of the depression era farm owners Leon & Lena. Randy and a few friends built the camp on a couple of fall weekends in the late 60’s for $2,000 and a keg of beer. After a few years of enjoyment in the tranquil setting by the river Randy sold the property. Eventual new owners were a retired couple from Long Island...Ed and Alva Jones. Ed and Alva visited every summer for more than two decades and made significant improvements to the property while still keeping it very rustic with gas lamps and no plumbing. Ed and Alva became great friends of ours over the many years. In 2018 Sandy Maine purchased the property and 12 acres from Alva after Ed passed away and fully updated the cabin.  The property is surrounded by Sandy and husband Lou’s 68 acre parcel of woods, river frontage, fields, farm house and barn. The original farm house dwelling on the front of the property was built in the 1860’s by Otis Cudworth who left for the civil war after the house was completed. Sadly he died as a POW in Virginia and never returned to enjoy his country life on the edge of the wilderness. Your hosts:Sandy Maine began her career as an Adirondack Wilderness guide in the 1990’s and worked for private individuals as well as SUNY Potsdam Wilderness Workshop. She also developed and ran the wilderness Outdoor Recreation with Education (ORWE) program for youth in Massena in the 80’s. As a compliment to her guide services she developed a body care manufacturing business and has since become a prominent influence not only in soapmaking as a craft, but also in inspiring those who shared her passion to turn their craft into thriving entrepreneurial ventures. Sandy is currently the founder and owner of Adirondack Fragrance & Flavor Farm - where innovative  “farm-to-body care” products are happening in her boutique factory just down the road!!  

An Amish made cedar log queen size bed (with a very comfortable new latex mattress) Is on the second floor with plenty of views and soundscapes from the river.

Sign up for a Finnish Steam Sauna! This is a shared amenity so you’ll need to sign up for a time slot. The sauna is at the end of the wishing rock trail ....about a 10 minute walk from the cabin. Donations requested to help with firewood supply.

The tranquility and solitude. Get away from it all when you stay under the stars, off-grid in nature, come discover, Our sanctuary is 45 acres on the edge of over a 1000 acres of forests and lakes with hiking, biking, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing trails. Book a visit to sit in our traditional Mongolian Yurt. Eat in our authentic Finnish cookhouse, swim, in the 18' deep pond. Explore the honey bees in their natural habitat. Visit our chickens and rabbits, skate in the winter. Welcome to Anastasia’s Domain! We live off grid, our farm is biodynamic and biodiverse. Our small cabins are 200 sq’ on 2 levels, the loft has a queen bed and the main floor has a futon. Our Treehouse cabin is 400 SQ' and can sleep 9. The toilet has its own door with a composting modern toilet. We provide natural water in a pump dispenser and a small fridge. All is solar power. There’s a barbecue. The cookhouse is 200’ away and sits 10. Come enjoy the 50 km’s of trails in beautiful, historic, Alexandria. Experience living in a self sustaining way!

This is a cabin experience, come prepared for an exciting time!

For your enjoyment, we have 2 e-bikes available for 20$ per hour, snow shoes $10 hr. We also have fresh organic farm foods for sale as well as our own organic honey... We are pleased to offer a pool and shower availability at the beautiful Georgian House Day Spa & Restaurant. 5 minute drive the usage is $25 per hour per person and includes towels & bathrobe. Bathing suit is required. Spa treatments and eating can be reserved with them.

This bunkie caught the sunlight at all times of day beautifully, we were fortunate with good weather to spend a lot of time outside and on the porch :)

We slept in the loft, it was so lovely to see trees out every window and have the fresh cool night air moving through.

This is the cooking hut we used, following some beautifully constructed bridges over the pond, we let the sun set while we cooked.

We hope to return in the winter time to maximize on this all-season stay!

The cabin is stocked with books and games, this is great for keeping busy, we had to get a little competitive during out time.

Inside the cabin, as the temperature drops, this mini wood burning stove was my favourite addition to the cabin. It was easy to use, warmed us up, and obviously cute to look at.

All around the property are bee hives which delivery delicious local honey. They take great care of their bees here and have thoughtfully dispersed the colonies so it's more natural to their existence.

This wash basin outside was just another touch of comfort from the hosts. The drinkable water was inside and this cleverly disguised water jug was rain water for dishes!

Learn more about this land:Our property just north of the St. Lawrence River has three grassy campsites that can hold up to five guests each. We have sheep, chickens, ducks, and a miniature donkey, who we look after now that we are retired from our dairy farm. It’s a relaxing environment where you can build a campfire and explore nearby riverfront attractions like Morrisburg Beach. On-leash pets are welcome. 
Rest of description:
There is a firepit for campfires, a gazebo for shade, and a seating area on the lawn with wooden furniture. RVs up to 45 feet long can be accommodated on a pull-in site that will require leveling. Electrical and water hookups are available; generators are not allowed. 
The property is less than 15 km from the towns of Iroquois and Morrisburg, where you can find restaurants and stores and check out the St. Lawrence River. Thousand Islands National Park is about an hour south, but closer to the property, there are parks, golf courses, and other outdoor attractions such as Two Creeks Forest Conservation Area, Iroquois Beach, and Morrisburg Beach.
