You will have total privacy for you and your guests and yours will be the only rental while you are here!
There is a main cabin that is set up for two people that comes with your rental.
There is also tons of mowed space for other guests to camp, included in the initial booking price, or, if they choose, they can rent our sleep cabin that has room for up to 7 more to sleep in a bed in a cozy cabin. We are happy to host large, friend and family gatherings.
There is an outdoor shower, outdoor games, three hard-topped gazebos, hammocks, scenic walks, a large fire pit with plenty of seating, picnic tables, and more!
Our goal is to provide a cozy, private, get-away for people who want to be able to pack a few clothes, some bug-spray/sunblock, some food, and head off to the woods. We have tried to think of everything you might need so you don't have to!

I built this cabin to be a romantic, cozy off-grid getaway for humans , but if most of our guests are being honest, the dogs are the ones having the best time.
There’s a cozy queen bed with fresh linens and a down duvet. A covered deck with handcrafted rocking chairs for sunset views. A private fire area below for campfires and stargazing. LED lighting, a Bluetooth speaker, a Jackery battery bank, clean well water, lanterns, an outdoor shower, and a clean outhouse. I’ll even haul your gear in by ATV so you can settle in without the hassle.

The cabin sits on a west-facing cliff on our private 164-acre property. Once you arrive, you’ll have the feeling of having the whole place to yourselves. The trails, the forest, the quiet, the sunsets, it all feels wonderfully removed from the usual noise.
This time of year, the forest is waking up, and the property starts to shift into spring. It’s a beautiful season here, muddy in spots, full of fresh smells, birdsong, and that feeling that everything is coming back to life. For dogs, it’s heaven. -- What to do around the cabin?
Mosque Lake and Ompah offer many adventures and places to discover. Go out on a hike and explore the trails in the area. Go on a photographic adventure and try to capture the best wildlife shots around the lake. Take a SUP or a kayak -available for free for the guests- and explore the islands. And if you like to prepare fresh fish-based dishes, Mosque Lake has great trout and perch fishing.
If you like to follow the winds of winter, take a pair of snowshoes available at the cabin and go across the lake and have a winter picnic. Set up your fishing shack outside your door, open a hole and fish!
*Winter roads require an AWD or 4WD vehicle to access Juniper Cabin.
Parking is available on-site for all guests. If you bring your boat, there is parking for your trailer as well.
*Power outages due to storms are always a possibility in cottage country. Typically, power is restored within a few hours if this should happen. Cottages will be stocked with candles and flashlights for guest safety.
*Internet/WIFI access is available at the property- connect to our WIFI and work from the cabins.
* If you’d like to bring your own boat, there is a free boat launch on the lake, and we can support docking your boat.

Guest are welcome to bring their own firewood. The first crate of firewood is included with your stay, and each additional crate is $5. The firewood is self-serve and we ask you to simply let us know how much wood you have used during your stay, or leave the appropriate funds on your table at check out.
Guests are responsible for removing their garbage and recycling from the cabin and bringing it to the garbage shed. The township requires all waste to be sorted, and the containers in the shed are labelled accordingly. Please sort your garbage and do your part to help save our planet.
We do have neighbours on one side of our property and share the peninsula with our amazing cottage community. Please be courteous to our cottage neighbours. We ask that you respect them and the noise levels while staying with us.

Cozy off-grid tiny house with an amazing lake view. Kiltearn on the Peak is perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing quasi-off-grid experience, but with lots of amenities to ensure comfort. Situated on a rocky peak overlooking Buck Lake (30 minutes north of Kingston, Ontario), the cabin is surrounded by forest on three sides, and has a terrific lake view from the front deck. Features include a loft with a queen bed, Wifi, soapstone propane heater, fridge, induction cooktop, kitchen sink, futon couch and a sheltered outdoor sitting area with barbeque and outdoor sink.
The cabin is situated on 11 forested acres with 400 feet of shoreline and its own private bay, KOTP offers the perfect area for recreation: swimming, forest-bathing, messing around in small boats, spectacular sunsets on the deck.
In the vicinity are great areas for hiking, canoeing, biking, and discovering the attractions of the Rideau canal system and the watersheds that feed it. There is excellent local food shopping in the area, and attractive small villages offer unique shopping opportunities.
To get to the cabin involves a climbing 30 woodland steps up the back of the hill, and following a 200 meter path. As a quasi-off-grid tiny house, KOTP has AC power available to run the fridge, induction cooktop, other appliances and your computer. Solar power and a backup generator are also available if needed. The lights and the water pumps are 12v. The interior sink serves drinking water from 5 gallon jugs refilled from our filtered water supply at the nearby house.
KOTP has a gorgeous soapstone propane heater that provides a great ambiance and comfort if the weather gets damp or chilly. On the deck outside is a propane barbeque and an outdoor sink that is fed from a 50 gallon rain barrel. We use this to do the dishes outside. The rain barrel also feeds an outdoor shower. The toilet is a composting unit that lives in the shed at the back of the cabin.
A rustic path leads to the waterfront which is shared with the other cottage on the property. The waterfront features a large shallow sandy swimming area, a spacious floating dock, and access to various small watercraft including kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and Sunfish sailboats.

Lanthorn is situated just north of Wakefield Quebec surrounded by forest, creeks, waterfalls, and hikes with views of the surrounding area. Our farm grows willow for basketry and living structures. We can also arrange to teach a weaving class for a fee. To learn more about our farm, you can visit Lanthorn.ca. On the property, there is also a large pottery studio which offers classes that you can book in advance of your visit. To do so, you can visit muraiceramique.com for details. We are home to a deer refuge founded in partnership with the Humane Society Canada which cares for a herd of sika deer rescued from a zoo closure. We also raise a small number of chicken, and sheep.

I built this cabin to be a romantic, cozy off-grid getaway for humans , but if most of our guests are being honest, the dogs are the ones having the best time.
There’s a cozy queen bed with fresh linens and a down duvet. A covered deck with handcrafted rocking chairs for sunset views. A private fire area below for campfires and stargazing. LED lighting, a Bluetooth speaker, a Jackery battery bank, clean well water, lanterns, an outdoor shower, and a clean outhouse. The cabin sits on a west-facing cliff on our private 164-acre property. Once you arrive, you’ll have the feeling of having the whole place to yourselves. The trails, the forest, the quiet, the sunsets, it all feels wonderfully removed from the usual noise.
This time of year, the forest is waking up, and the property starts to shift into spring. It’s a beautiful season here, muddy in spots, full of fresh smells, birdsong, and that feeling that everything is coming back to life. For dogs, it’s heaven. For people, it’s a chance to unplug, slow down, and enjoy a kind of peace that’s getting harder to find.
You’ll have access to 10 km of private trails through forest, ridgelines, and lakeshore. Wildlife is plentiful, and depending on the season, you may spot deer, foxes, loons, and maybe even a family of bald eagles!

-- What to do around the cabin?
Mosque Lake and Ompah offer many adventures and places to discover. Go out on a hike and explore the trails in the area. Go on a photographic adventure and try to capture the best wildlife shots around the lake. Take a SUP or a kayak -available for free for the guests- and explore the islands. And if you like to prepare fresh fish-based dishes, Mosque Lake has great trout and perch fishing.
If you like to follow the winds of winter, take a pair of snowshoes available at the cabin and go across the lake and have a winter picnic. Set up your fishing shack outside your door, open a hole and fish!
*Winter roads require an AWD or 4WD vehicle to access Juniper Cabin.
Parking is available on-site for all guests. If you bring your boat, there is parking for your trailer as well.
*Power outages due to storms are always a possibility in cottage country. Typically, power is restored within a few hours if this should happen. Cottages will be stocked with candles and flashlights for guest safety.
*Internet/WIFI access is available at the property- connect to our WIFI and work from the cabins.
* If you’d like to bring your own boat, there is a free boat launch on the lake, and we can support docking your boat.

Guest are welcome to bring their own firewood. The first crate of firewood is included with your stay, and each additional crate is $5. The firewood is self-serve and we ask you to simply let us know how much wood you have used during your stay, or leave the appropriate funds on your table at check out.
Guests are responsible for removing their garbage and recycling from the cabin and bringing it to the garbage shed. The township requires all waste to be sorted, and the containers in the shed are labelled accordingly. Please sort your garbage and do your part to help save our planet.
We do have neighbours on one side of our property and share the peninsula with our amazing cottage community. Please be courteous to our cottage neighbours. We ask that you respect them and the noise levels while staying with us.

Cozy off-grid tiny house with an amazing lake view. Kiltearn on the Peak is perfect for a couple looking for a relaxing quasi-off-grid experience, but with lots of amenities to ensure comfort. Situated on a rocky peak overlooking Buck Lake (30 minutes north of Kingston, Ontario), the cabin is surrounded by forest on three sides, and has a terrific lake view from the front deck. Features include a loft with a queen bed, Wifi, soapstone propane heater, fridge, induction cooktop, kitchen sink, futon couch and a sheltered outdoor sitting area with barbeque and outdoor sink.
The cabin is situated on 11 forested acres with 400 feet of shoreline and its own private bay, KOTP offers the perfect area for recreation: swimming, forest-bathing, messing around in small boats, spectacular sunsets on the deck.
In the vicinity are great areas for hiking, canoeing, biking, and discovering the attractions of the Rideau canal system and the watersheds that feed it. There is excellent local food shopping in the area, and attractive small villages offer unique shopping opportunities.
To get to the cabin involves a climbing 30 woodland steps up the back of the hill, and following a 200 meter path. As a quasi-off-grid tiny house, KOTP has AC power available to run the fridge, induction cooktop, other appliances and your computer. Solar power and a backup generator are also available if needed. The lights and the water pumps are 12v. The interior sink serves drinking water from 5 gallon jugs refilled from our filtered water supply at the nearby house.
KOTP has a gorgeous soapstone propane heater that provides a great ambiance and comfort if the weather gets damp or chilly. On the deck outside is a propane barbeque and an outdoor sink that is fed from a 50 gallon rain barrel. We use this to do the dishes outside. The rain barrel also feeds an outdoor shower. The toilet is a composting unit that lives in the shed at the back of the cabin.
A rustic path leads to the waterfront which is shared with the other cottage on the property. The waterfront features a large shallow sandy swimming area, a spacious floating dock, and access to various small watercraft including kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and Sunfish sailboats.

Note that the ladder to the sleeping loft is very steep, heating is with fire, and the toilet could be complicated for a kid, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend the cabin for a child under 8 years old. The cabin was snug for 2 people but would probably have felt crowded with 3.

An absolutely perfect winter cabin retreat. Cozy, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped. It was a great place to unplug, relax, and enjoy the winter season. We loved being able to let our dog roam safely off-leash and enjoy the freedom. Mike gave us such a warm welcome that immediately made us feel at home. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and falling asleep while gazing at the stars through the trees was a magical touch. The outdoor kitchen was one of our favourite features. We hope to return.

We absolutely loved everything about this perfect winter cabin getaway! The cabin was surrounded by a beautiful forest and beaver pond with well maintained winter trails for us to explore by snowshoe! Snowshoeing over the beaver pond was definitely a highlight! The cabin had even more amenities than we expected! Not only a cozy wood stove but also a gas heater as well. Kitchen dishware was also appreciated and there was also a BBQ to use! The view from the bed was also spectacular! Falling asleep under the stars and waking up to blue skies was magical! We were never cold, the wood stove kept us super warm and cozy!

We loved everything about our stay in the Cliffside Cabin and will definitely return. The cabin is cozy and inviting and kept us snug and warm despite the frigid -30 degree temps outside. The bed is heavenly; so comfortable for sleeping, and also surrounded by windows for enjoying the stunning views and sunset. The cabin strikes the perfect balance of rustic and convenience, so you get the charm and atmosphere of being off grid, but the comfort and ease of having lights easily accessible and sleeping through the night without having to stoke a fire to stay warm. The property is incredible. It’s totally private and has tons of beautiful wooded trails to explore. We snowshoed for hours and enjoyed the variety of trail types, from machine set to human set to making our very own in the deep snow! We were there during a nighttime snowshoe race so got to see all the headlamps moving very quickly through the forest from the comfort of the cabin after our own snowshoe adventure. Our dog, who is reactive and barky in the city, was able to be off leash and lived his best life from arrival to departure. He tired himself out exploring and put himself to bed early! Last but definitely not least, Mike was an exceptional host. He is responsive and thoughtful, offering to reschedule when I asked about the cold, and even offering to loan us his dog’s jacket when I said I might buy one. He is interesting and so easy to talk to, and we left his presence feeling uplifted. Highly recommend!
