I’m also hoping to cut a new backcountry ski loop this winter at the top of the escarpment for adventurous guests. The shelter includes a queen bed with fresh linens and a down duvet, plus space for tents around the firepit if you’d like a group setup. Kids and pets stay free, just leave it like you found it. The covered deck has handcrafted rocking chairs for lingering over sunsets, while your private fire area sits just below — perfect for roasting marshmallows or watching the stars. Hammocks are tucked into quiet corners for lazy afternoons or stargazing at night. Set up your fishing shack outside your door, open a hole and fish! *Winter roads require an AWD or 4WD vehicle to access Juniper Cabin. Parking is available on-site for all guests. If you bring your boat, there is parking for your trailer as well. *Power outages due to storms are always a possibility in cottage country. Situated on a rocky peak overlooking Buck Lake (30 minutes north of Kingston, Ontario), the cabin is surrounded by forest on three sides, and has a terrific lake view from the front deck. Features include a loft with a queen bed, Wifi, soapstone propane heater, fridge, induction cooktop, kitchen sink, futon couch and a sheltered outdoor sitting area with barbeque and outdoor sink. The cabin is situated on 11 forested acres with 400 feet of shoreline and its own private bay, KOTP offers the perfect area for recreation: swimming, forest-bathing, messing around in small boats, spectacular sunsets on the deck. In the vicinity are great areas for hiking, canoeing, biking, and discovering the attractions of the Rideau canal system and the watersheds that feed it. There is excellent local food shopping in the area, and attractive small villages offer unique shopping opportunities. To get to the cabin involves a climbing 30 woodland steps up the back of the hill, and following a 200 meter path. As a quasi-off-grid tiny house, KOTP has AC power available to run the fridge, induction cooktop, other appliances and your computer. Solar power and a backup generator are also available if needed. The lights and the water pumps are 12v. The interior sink serves drinking water from 5 gallon jugs refilled from our filtered water supply at the nearby house. KOTP has a gorgeous soapstone propane heater that provides a great ambiance and comfort if the weather gets damp or chilly. On the deck outside is a propane barbeque and an outdoor sink that is fed from a 50 gallon rain barrel. We use this to do the dishes outside. The rain barrel also feeds an outdoor shower. The toilet is a composting unit that lives in the shed at the back of the cabin. A rustic path leads to the waterfront which is shared with the other cottage on the property. The waterfront features a large shallow sandy swimming area, a spacious floating dock, and access to various small watercraft including kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and Sunfish sailboats.

Features include a loft with a queen bed, Wifi, soapstone propane heater, fridge, induction cooktop, kitchen sink, futon couch and a sheltered outdoor sitting area with barbeque and outdoor sink. The cabin is situated on 11 forested acres with 400 feet of shoreline and its own private bay, KOTP offers the perfect area for recreation: swimming, forest-bathing, messing around in small boats, spectacular sunsets on the deck. In the vicinity are great areas for hiking, canoeing, biking, and discovering the attractions of the Rideau canal system and the watersheds that feed it. There is excellent local food shopping in the area, and attractive small villages offer unique shopping opportunities. To get to the cabin involves a climbing 30 woodland steps up the back of the hill, and following a 200 meter path. As a quasi-off-grid tiny house, KOTP has AC power available to run the fridge, induction cooktop, other appliances and your computer. Solar power and a backup generator are also available if needed. The lights and the water pumps are 12v. The interior sink serves drinking water from 5 gallon jugs refilled from our filtered water supply at the nearby house. KOTP has a gorgeous soapstone propane heater that provides a great ambiance and comfort if the weather gets damp or chilly. On the deck outside is a propane barbeque and an outdoor sink that is fed from a 50 gallon rain barrel. We use this to do the dishes outside. The rain barrel also feeds an outdoor shower. The toilet is a composting unit that lives in the shed at the back of the cabin. A rustic path leads to the waterfront which is shared with the other cottage on the property. The waterfront features a large shallow sandy swimming area, a spacious floating dock, and access to various small watercraft including kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and Sunfish sailboats.

The cabin is situated on 11 forested acres with 400 feet of shoreline and its own private bay, KOTP offers the perfect area for recreation: swimming, forest-bathing, messing around in small boats, spectacular sunsets on the deck. In the vicinity are great areas for hiking, canoeing, biking, and discovering the attractions of the Rideau canal system and the watersheds that feed it. There is excellent local food shopping in the area, and attractive small villages offer unique shopping opportunities. To get to the cabin involves a climbing 30 woodland steps up the back of the hill, and following a 200 meter path. As a quasi-off-grid tiny house, KOTP has AC power available to run the fridge, induction cooktop, other appliances and your computer. Solar power and a backup generator are also available if needed. The lights and the water pumps are 12v. The interior sink serves drinking water from 5 gallon jugs refilled from our filtered water supply at the nearby house. KOTP has a gorgeous soapstone propane heater that provides a great ambiance and comfort if the weather gets damp or chilly. On the deck outside is a propane barbeque and an outdoor sink that is fed from a 50 gallon rain barrel. We use this to do the dishes outside. The rain barrel also feeds an outdoor shower. The toilet is a composting unit that lives in the shed at the back of the cabin. A rustic path leads to the waterfront which is shared with the other cottage on the property. The waterfront features a large shallow sandy swimming area, a spacious floating dock, and access to various small watercraft including kayaks, canoes, rowboats, and Sunfish sailboats.

The cabin is beautifully built and well-equipped. Mike's communication is excellent, he went out of his way to accommodate us, and he is a pleasure to chat to. The hiking trails are well-marked and the walk to the lake is beautiful, even in the late fall with barely any leaves left on the trees. We spent a peaceful and restorative two nights, and look forward to doing so again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Mike's cabin. It has beautiful backdrop of rolling hills as far as you can see. Well equipped deck for cooking your own meal and enjoy it surrounded by nature. Cabin is warm and comfy, bed is great and rocking chairs on the patio are great for relaxing.

We had an absolutely lovely, relaxing time at Mike's cabin this weekend. The cabin is the perfect blend of rustic and cozy, with many thoughtful little amenities that made us feel at home right away and eliminated the stress of packing compared to traditional tent camping. We were lucky enough to book with fall colours in full force and were treated to stunning sunset views both nights. With enough hiking trails and wilderness to explore to your heart's content, there was plenty of opportunity to mix in some adventure. We are eagerly looking forward to coming back soon and experiencing what winter at the cabin has to offer!

The cabin was perfectly located with gorgeous views of Silver Lake. Site was very private and well maintained. Cabin was so cute and cozy offering all the comforts for a perfect glamping experience. Gazebo offered a dry spot to enjoy meals outdoors and the firepit was our gathering spot each night. Short walk brought us to the private beach site. Absolutely loved and would recommend 100%. My partner and I are so refreshed after our stay at the wicked awesome Cliffside Cabin. The place was breathtaking and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Secluded in the treetops with nature, a super comfy bed, warm breezy quarters, hammocks, solitude, badminton, and all the little thoughtful things you could need for a comfortable, stress-free stay - it was a dream. It's the thoughtful details and great intro to the cabin that put us at ease. Mike was patient, showed us how to use the stoves, gave great instructions so we easily found our way.
