By a combination of good timing and good luck, I was able to make that dream come true and in the spring of 2014 I acquired this land with the hopes of building my dream water ski lake on it. 7 years later, we have a thriving water ski club and are constantly making improvements to the site. We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.

Being avid hikers ourselves, we realize that there are not a lot of accommodations just off the Bruce Trail. So our main goal is to assist hikers as they explore the Bruce Trail. Whether you are doing the ‘end-to-end ‘ in one go (Bravo!), or doing a more relaxed multi day hike, our little bunkie will be a welcome place to lay your head at the end of the day. Our forest bunkie is nestled in the woods, a few minutes walk off the trail, and conveniently located approximately at the half way point of the Caledon Hills section. You truly feel like you are one with nature here. At night you may hear the coyotes howling in the distance or hear the local raccoons out on their nightly stroll.
You have complete privacy at the bunkie. However, if you need assistance our home isn’t too far away. Please note that it is an off-grid bunkie…which means no electricity! We do have lamps available in the bunkie, however bringing your own headlamp or flashlight is recommended. There is a cute, private outhouse w/ washbasin. We have an outdoor shower a little ways away from the bunkie site, with hot water. There is a double bed in the loft. The pull out couch on the main level also can be converted to a double bed. There is no running water at bunkie, however we will have some potable water provided. You will be met upon arrival.
PLEASE NOTE:
*There is a strict NO fire rule anywhere on the property.
*There is a hill (w/some forest stairs) that you will have to navigate to get to bunkie site.
Mono Mills is 6 minutes away w/ Starbucks, Tim Hortons, gas stations, pizza. Hockley Village is 7 minutes away, with the must visit Hockley Valley General Store. Orangeville is 15 mins away for all food and supplies you may need.

Like most folks who’ve been bitten by the water ski bug, I dreamed of having my own lake and when I met my life partner Harald, an elite slalom skier, my search began in earnest. By a combination of good timing and good luck, I was able to make that dream come true and in the spring of 2014 I acquired this land with the hopes of building my dream water ski lake on it. 7 years later, we have a thriving water ski club and are constantly making improvements to the site. We now have decided to add some sites for rent to share this incredible property with others outside the water ski community.
Site #1 is a small cabin that sleeps 3 and site #2 is a small houseboat that has been converted to a bunkie.
Onsite activities include use of a canoe and paddleboard. Use of a kid's swingset and olympic trampoline. Swimming and fishing.

This beautiful rustic cabin sits on a treed lot with privacy.
The cabin includes a double Murphy bed, we supply all bedding. A Cot is available for a third person. The cabin is air-conditioned, has a small sitting area, fridge, Keurig coffee machine, and heater for the cooler nights in the fall. Firewood available. Washroom facilities include a hot shower ( bring your towels) and composting toilet within steps of the cabin. There is a propane BBQ and a Gazebo.
There is a beach and a public park a couple minute walk from the cabin. There is a 100 km bike trail within a 5-minute bike ride from the cabin. We offer the use of bikes, and kayaks when available and weather permitted. Grocery stores, restaurants, and small shops, are all centrally located within ten minutes from cabin. While you are in town you can watch Lakers and Ocean Boats go through the canal
Within 15 minute is Ridgeway and Crystal Beach which offers concerts, beaches and activities.

We purchased this farm in 1998 from the previous farmer who had owned it since 1929. The train line ran right by the gate where the Kota hut now sits and would drop cattle right there to be finished and sold later at the Toronto Stockyards. Our barn was built in 1890 with the old farmhouse located across the creek. Two creeks meet the Grand River on our farm. The bunkie is situated north of the barn and faces Willow creek. During the summer the creek gets quite shallow but there are a couple of pools that work nicely for a float with our river tubes. The river also has a small swimming hole. The bunkie is nestled between 2 hills which creates a natural little valley. Campers can take a walk around the property or use the nearby long walking trail. New this spring, campers will be able to enjoy the firewood sauna, located close to the bunkie and nestled in a private spot near the creek.

Being avid hikers ourselves, we realize that there are not a lot of accommodations just off the Bruce Trail. So our main goal is to assist hikers as they explore the Bruce Trail. Whether you are doing the ‘end-to-end ‘ in one go (Bravo!), or doing a more relaxed multi day hike, our little bunkie will be a welcome place to lay your head at the end of the day. Our forest bunkie is nestled in the woods, a few minutes walk off the trail, and conveniently located approximately at the half way point of the Caledon Hills section. You truly feel like you are one with nature here. At night you may hear the coyotes howling in the distance or hear the local raccoons out on their nightly stroll.
You have complete privacy at the bunkie. However, if you need assistance our home isn’t too far away. Please note that it is an off-grid bunkie…which means no electricity! We do have lamps available in the bunkie, however bringing your own headlamp or flashlight is recommended. There is a cute, private outhouse w/ washbasin. We have an outdoor shower a little ways away from the bunkie site, with hot water. There is a double bed in the loft. The pull out couch on the main level also can be converted to a double bed. There is no running water at bunkie, however we will have some potable water provided. You will be met upon arrival.
PLEASE NOTE:
*There is a strict NO fire rule anywhere on the property.
*There is a hill (w/some forest stairs) that you will have to navigate to get to bunkie site.
Mono Mills is 6 minutes away w/ Starbucks, Tim Hortons, gas stations, pizza. Hockley Village is 7 minutes away, with the must visit Hockley Valley General Store. Orangeville is 15 mins away for all food and supplies you may need.

My friend and I had a lovely stay the end of February. The Strawbale cabin was absolutely gorgeous. It was nice and cozy with the wood stove and we were supplied enough wood to keep us toasty during our stay. The outhouse was very cute and did not have an odour. We met one host on our arrival and she was very friendly. Hosts were responsive and helpful. Overall a great experience and would recommend to anyone. Stayed with dogs and horses. Eggs, honey and note were a lovely personal touch.

Excellent stay for a romantic getaway. If you think a wood burning sauna big enough for 4, a shower big enough for a table and bench, and a hot tub just outside your door makes for a perfect getaway, this is your place. The fridge was big enough for a three night stay, unlimited firewood, and all the oils, lotions and scents one could ask for. Truly a great place to be with the one you love, and your dogo. Could there have been a table inside for us nerds to puzzle on? Sure. But the floor works too. Would go back.

The forest cabin was everything I’d hope for and more. I wanted a place to get away and reconnect with nature and that’s exactly what I got out of my stay. I went for hikes through the property, got to play with the sheep and the dogs! And like others have said in their reviews, by far the best outhouse I’ve ever soon! Everdale is a special place! The straw cabin is simple, comfortable and so quiet! I felt safe as a person going there solo and walked their well loved and cared for land extensively. It was an education as well in that they have a regenerative farm. Being a long time gardener myself, it was interesting to read the sign posts on my walk explaining different aspects of regenerative farming and the lands ecology. I'll definitely come back and in the colder months, be sure you're comfortable keeping the woodstove going, you may need to split wood, etc. Also, being solar powered, if it's a cloudy day, the lights may go off early. I was glad I brought a battery operated lamp. Great place, great feeling there.!

Very nice little cabin, is part of a larger property, but still plenty of privacy. Mornings are very cold around late September, recommend to bring a blanket if you’re here around this time of year. We had an amazing stay at the cozy cabin! The beach was just 5 minutes away, making it perfectly convenient for watching sunrise and sunsets. Traveling with our 14-month-old, we felt completely safe and comfortable and the space was very baby-friendly. Chris and Denise were wonderful and very easygoing hosts who ensured our group had what we needed and gave us a quick tour of the site before giving us free range for the duration of our stay. The shop has an impressive array of trailers onsite to gander at while there, and the shop building bathroom was a nice luxury to have for group camping. Loved our time there, a very unique spot to spend some time.

Great Lakes Waterfront Trail
The Great Lakes Waterfront Trail stretches 3,600 km and connects 155 communities along the Canadian shores of the Great Lakes. With eight waterfront parks, a historic lift, and a scenic beach, the Burlington section is particularly notable.

Taste the sweet sugar water at the region’s maple syrup festivals in spring, hike and mountain bike in summer, or enjoy cross-country skiing in winter. Fall is the most scenic season for camping, when the region’s hardwood forests put on their colourful show of oranges, reds, and yellows.
Know before you go
- Because of its proximity to urban centres, Burlington can draw crowds. Summer and fall weekends are busy, especially if the weather is nice, so it’s best to come during the week if heading into town.
- Traffic is slow during rush hour, when the Gardiner Expressway can be particularly nightmarish. Avoid morning and evening commuting times and check the best route before you go.
