The terrain is pink granite with soft spots for a tent or solid ground to park your trailer (sorry no hook ups or liquid waste removal). There's a picnic table, firewood and private toilet included. Whether you prefer to be in sun or shade, both are available at this site. As much as we are sheltered from the County road, traffic can be heard at times.

Wonderful place for weekend getaway! Excellent privacy. Have garbage cans which is a huge plus. Most sites don’t offer them. Well decorated washroom, with sink and water. Off leash friendly, our dog was very happy.
Most importantly there is this beautiful pavilion, with lights at night and big enough for at least 10+ ppl.
Everything is just perfect.

Dale's yurt-style tent was an excellent spot for us to meet up and rest for one night before our canoe trip in the Kawartha Highlands. Dale was quick to respond to my questions and went out of his way to provide wine glasses. The electric fireplace was a welcome feature on a cool night. We made breakfast at the well-supplied outdoor kitchen. The light at the outhouse was a nice touch, though it could have used some cleaning. Thanks a bunch, Dale.

We had a wonderful time here. The place was private, beautiful, clean and cozy. Dale was an amazing host - super responsive, flexible and a pleasure to deal with. If the outdoor shower setup and the outhouse can be fixed up a bit that would make it even more comfortable, but overall it was a great value for the price and I would 100% recommend this.

Beautiful, well maintained site. Great for big groups or off leash pets. Amanda has put a lot of work into making guests feel comfortable and welcome on her property. The outhouse, gazebo, volleyball nets and night lights all over the site are great. Also very close to Ganaraska forest for hiking trails. She was also very respectful of our privacy. Another fantastic camp stay at this beautiful farm! We loved our new spot on the property just as much as the last one. From the moment we arrived, the hosts welcomed us back with open arms, making us feel right at home. The magic of this place is all thanks to the incredible hosts who treat every guest like family. We had a great time visiting with the farm animals and enjoying the peaceful atmosphere of their barn. The provided firewood was a thoughtful touch that made our nights around the campfire so much easier. The amenities are excellent; the outhouse was impeccably clean, and the dishwashing station made cleanup a breeze. This is truly a special place! <3

Dale's site is basic, but in the best way. The tent, the amenities and especially the bed were quite spacious and comfortable. It has very thing you need ( but food. That's all you need to bring).
I highly recommend The site if you want to go Glamping on a budget and you're transitioning from regular camping to something more special and accommodating. Very well worth the price and will definitely book again..

Weekend Trip to Foresthill Retreat
We had a great stay at Forest Hill Retreat! The tent was lovely, well-equipped, and kept us warm and dry all night, even through some rain. It had everything we needed, though we did wish there was a small kettle inside. Since it rained in the morning, we couldn’t make coffee, and the gazebo shelter didn’t have the proper cover, so it didn’t provide much rain protection.
The site itself is beautiful and surrounded by lots of trees, but you can still hear a fair bit of car noise from nearby roads. It didn’t ruin the experience, but it’s something to be aware of if you’re looking for total quiet.
One of our favorite parts of the stay was watching movies under the stars by the fire—it was such a cozy and unique experience that really made the trip special! Overall, Forest Hill Retreat is a beautiful and relaxing getaway, and with a few small improvements, it would be absolutely perfect.

Absolutely nothing negative could be said about this trip.
From the host to the land to the location to the amenities - it was the perfect spot.
Micheal - couldn't have had a better host – so friendly and positive and quick to respond – everything you would want in a host.
The land was perfect for many tents (flat) with a nice fire pit and beautiful view of the barn (that was lit up) and the land around.
The location was close to small towns - looking forward to exploring more than what we did on our next booking.
Amenities - from the barn with the record player and ping pong table to the dish washing station to the hot tub (we didn't have time to enjoy but next time!) to the bathroom facility to the volleyball court to feeding the horses and sheep and the vegetable basket received on arrival.
All around it was perfect and exactly what we needed. Looking forward to our next trip up there.

Dale was a great host! The property was well maintained, with conveniences on-site and gas stations, grocery/convenience stores and natural attractions just a short drive away. The lot size was large enough for multiple cars and tents and felt private.

Camped with a group of 10, lots and lots of tent room! The land was absolutely gorgeous, spacious and very well upkeept. Theres a beautiful barn to hangout with that has lights when it gets dark, a ping pong table and lots of chairs and tablespace for meals. The flowers grown theyre are so pretty and the animals are so cute! They had a wood-burning hot tub and small cold plunge, super nice toilets and a shower, all with working water as well as a new outhouse installed that was nice. Theres some waterfalls super close by too. I highly recommend here, the stay was amazing, the host Michael is so friendly and the whole experience went so perfectly for our group! ❤️

Absolutely amazing. Very peaceful and comfortable, good mixture of shaded areas for the heat but also nice sunny patches for soaking in the sun.
Kitchen has everything you’d need, and saves so much packing and hassle when staying here.
The projector and dvd laptop player is great, and is an awesome way to enjoy the night beside the fire.
Firewoods not available, but there’s very cheap firewood just across the street and the people selling it are very friendly.
The tent is very clean and has a lot of extra blankets, pillows, and even a few inflatable mattresses.
Super close to some beautiful beaches and very clear water.
Seriously awesome space, 10/10.

Super cute spot! Amanda has put a lot of effort in the little things - covered deck with a big picnic table, volleyball net with a ball and some badminton gear, lovely little outhouse that was very clean (and well lit!) Would definitely stay again!

This site is only 1.5hours east from Toronto, so its good for weekenders. Yurt is good size for our family of 4 (2adults, 2kids). In the yurt, there are a mini fridge, dvd discs, players, a projector, books and some boardgames. Sleeping arrangement is...a full size bed, 2 airmattresses and bedding, extra blankets, a sleeping bag and pillows.
Outdoor space, it has big green space to play soccer or freesby if you wish. Also there's an outdoor kitchen, shower and a outhouse. Kitchen comes with a propane bbq grill with a side stove. There are several pots and pans but you might wanna bring some cutleries and cups.
Kids loved watching movies outdoor by the campfire at night.
The site has many small lakes around that you can drive to, the closest one is 4mins away Burleigh falls. Our little ones enjoyed fishing and swimming there. We got to visit a cute little town Buckhorn, 15mins away. On the way back we stopped at lakefield beach, it was perfect for kids to swim.
I think it could've been better if we went in the fall. We were eaten alive by mosquitoes even with the multiple layers of repellent. So, be prepared if you go in the middle of summer.
You will hear the traffics going by at night, but you will have all the convenience being close to the city.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Mike and Jen's farm! The property is idyllic – on top of the camping experience, you really can't beat playing the piano in a century-old barn – and Mike and Jen were incredibly helpful and generous hosts. Our kids loved meeting the animals and had a blast in the hot tub "pool". I hope we get to visit again in years to come!

Lovely spot on Chad’s land. Right across from the river which is an ideal location. 4 minutes to town. Belly’s restaurant is a must visit when staying here! Complete privacy with mix of sun and shade amongst the trees.

Where to go
Presqu’ile Provincial Park
Presqu’ile Provincial Park has fantastic beaches (including the popular Salt Point Beach), pristine wetlands, and lush forests. As such, it’s an excellent spot for hiking, swimming, fishing, and birdwatching. The Marsh Trail, in particular, is a prime location for birdwatching. Photographers will want to check out the historic lighthouses scattered around the park’s shores.
Sandbanks Provincial Park
Sandbanks is one of the province’s largest and most popular parks, famous for its expansive namesake sandy beaches. It’s an excellent spot for windsurfing, kayaking, canoeing, and stand-up paddleboarding. Camping options include multiple campgrounds with RV spaces, two large group camping spots, and cottages. The nearby communities are well known for their art galleries and antiques shops, and the surrounding area is home to many wineries.
Cricklewood Farm
Plenty of outdoor, family-friendly fun awaits at this local landmark. Cricklewood Farm is a fifth-generation operation located just outside of Brighton. The site is a combination of a working farm and a play zone, offering a corn maze, pumpkin patch, petting zoo, and market stand, plus pick-your-own raspberries, pumpkins, and squash.
When to go
Sandbanks and Presqu’ile provincial parks, two of the main attractions in the region around Brighton, are open year-round, but full services are only offered from late April to late October. Canada Day weekend is popular at both locations, and summer campsites at Sandbanks often sell out when reservations are opened five months in advance. In Brighton itself, the annual Applefest takes place in September and features live music, a parade, rides, and delicious food.
