Lovely place and lovely hosts. Wasn’t sure about how close or open we’d be to other campers or the host but the setup they have does a great job of keeping you private.
We ended up in Toronto for our last night and ended up extending our trip for another 4 nights after meeting terry, his property is something out of a magazine, he is so down to earth and helped us in more ways than one, the sunset on the water while using the available kayaks was a once in a lifetime, i caught the biggest fish I’d ever caught while sitting in his beautiful lake area, this experience at terry and Angela’s was something we will never forget. We will be back year after year from Australia we are ever so grateful big fella!

Our stay at Terry and Angela’s site was great! It was a very last minute reservation and we arrived at 9:45pm, apologizing profusely for the late arrival. Terry was entertaining family for the long weekend and was so assuring and kind- coming back out to our site two different times to first show us where it was and then to drop off firewood.
The portapotty was incredibly clean and didn’t smell or have any strange spills or stains.
The only thing to note is that the sites are a short distance from the road and there isn’t much privacy from passers-by so position your vehicle/tent accordingly.
All in all a great stay! Thank you!
Location & Setting: Last-minute find near Sandbanks with kind hosts (Terry and Angela) and a peaceful vibe away from crowded trailer parks.
Campsite & Price: Reasonable at $49/night. Moveable fire pit and Terry offered to buy firewood for us, wich was really appreciated ($15 for 2 bags).
Noise & Surroundings: Close to a country road (quiet at night) and a seasonal campground with Saturday night music/DJ (tolerable from a distance). Clean porta-potties on-site.
Water Access & Activities: Lower sites near the fence allow hammocks. Narrow, tree-shaded shoreline (good for launching a paddleboard or Terry's offered kayaks). Gorgeous, partially obstructed sunsets. So not a beach. The view as seen on picture is reserved to landlord, because it’s in front of is own house.
Swimming: Rocky and slippery with seaweed; wear water sandals to avoid cuts.
Self-Sufficiency: Far from amenities (groceries, gas, EV charging), so full autonomy is required.

Nice private spot suurounded by trees. The owner was welcoming and nice. I would go back.
We may be off here because this was our first hipcamp experience. I will say that it didn’t make us want to try again. We are pretty low-maintenance campers… just a small tent and we don’t need a lot of amenities. What we weren’t expecting was to camp in someone’s front lawn. The names of the “sites” (no clear subdivisions of the yard that we could see) and the images that included lake views were misleading. The only water access (no view) is via a newly-cut hole through the cedars at the lake edge. Our site was adjacent to the fenceline and across a little field, there is a densely-populated seasonal camp. On Saturday night there was a loud event (think screaming drunk people) at the entrance with DJ that went past 11 pm. All the sites are close to the road too. It is not a busy road, but still, … now you know. It was awkward. The owners were nice but I really can’t see how $50 for a picnic table in the front yard is good value. Next time I will try harder to find a cancellation at a park, somewhere cheaper, or somewhere where you feel like you get something for your $$.

Very nice and gracious hosts, good location, relaxing and quiet. However, I would recommend for RVs but not for tent campers. To no fault of hosts, felt like a rubbie doing dishes by the lake in front of their cottage (camping is in host's backyard).

Quiet location, several areas to set up camp. We had a camper trailer, and there was also a couple in a tent a couple of hundred feet away. Fire ring and picnic table were available. No utilities or hookups, but our camper is self-contained so it worked well for us. There is a road nearby to put in a small boat in Hay Bay, with a small parking area for the vehicle. There is also a camping resort within walking distance with a camp store. Prince Edward County is 15 minutes away by car followed by a free ferry crossing with multiple attractions.

Close to the Glenora Ferry and no mosquitoes!

Excellent site on a beautifully maintained property.
As a dog owner there's nothing better than well mowed glass for morning and evening walks.
Highly recommend and we'll be back.
