Nestled in the trees on a large deck with the sounds of birds and squirrels all around, this unique structure spans 15 ft across with 14 triangular sides. It holds a double bed, dinning table, rocking chair, 3 burner stove, sink with water, full kitchenette and all the cooking utensils you need. The wood stove keeps the space very warm and cozy and we offer professional massage and reiki. You can walk, ski or bike for hours along a river. Or visit towering gypsum cliffs that host huge bat caves..
Our yurt is tucked away in the trees of our 20 acre wood lot. We provide lots of wood and fire starter for the wood stove but guests should have experience with wood stoves (or be really keen to learn). The stove is big enough to easily heat the whole yurt to cozy comfort but guests should expect to have to keep the stove going in order to keep the space warm and this may mean stoking it once in the night. We provide lots of extra blankets and two pairs of extra slippers for those who forget to bring their own. The solar panel creates enough power to run the lights, charge a cell phone and sometimes a computer but not much more.
The space is beautiful, unique and quite dreamy but it is rustic. There is a composting toilet next to the yurt (with hand sanitizer but no sink) and outdoor showers (with hot water) near our farm house. There is a three burner propane cook stove, cooking and dining wares and a small sink for dishes. There are all the utensils that you may need to cook for yourself but there is limited counter space so cooking elaborate meals is possible but could be cumbersome. There is a cooler and we can stock it with ice packs upon request. We supply coffee and a french press,.
We also offer massage and reiki to guests for $90 (60 min). Morghain Lee is a massage therapist and Reiki Master and enjoys blending these two body therapies for a holistic healing experience.
There is an outdoor fire pit and star gazing chairs. We ask that you only use natural soaps in the shower, the sink, pond or river. We have some Dr Bronners if you like:)
Cell reception on the land depends on the provider but most people have weak service (one or two bars). Enough to maintain a phone connection (if you are not walking around too much) but not enough to download videos. Some people have more or less.
We do allow pets but we ask for an extra $15 contribution to compensate for the extra cleaning. We also ask that dogs not be on the bed and that they don't chase our chickens or kittens.
There are outdoor showers available in spring, summer and fall when the pipes won't freeze. For those wanting to stay for longer periods in the winter we can discuss usage of the shower in our house.

The property consists of a 6 acre lot right on the beach and an 145 acre wood lot right across the street. The beach is sandy at low tide and ideal for swimming, canoeing, bird watching, etc. The wood lot has a cabin on it and groomed walking trails. It is inhabited by a wide variety of wildlife. The property on the beach is bordered by a small brook and a variety of water fowl come to feed, rest and bathe. Nova Scotia can be seen on the horizon.

Escape to a simple off-grid bunkie tucked into the woods on a private oceanfront property in southeastern Prince Edward Island.
This is a peaceful place to unplug, slow down, and enjoy nature. A short woodland trail leads to a quiet sandy beach that’s perfect for walking, swimming, beachcombing, or watching the sunrise.
The bunkie is compact but comfortable, with a queen bed, small kitchenette, seating area, solar power, Starlink Wi-Fi, and a private bathroom with a shower and composting toilet. Outside you’ll find a deck overlooking the forest and a vintage clawfoot outdoor tub with hot and cold water.
Please note that this is an off-grid accommodation. Power comes from solar, so guests are asked to be mindful of electricity use. The setting is rustic rather than luxurious, and you’ll likely encounter birds, frogs, rabbits, foxes, and other local wildlife. Mosquitoes can also be part of the experience at certain times of year, so bringing insect repellent is recommended.
If you’re looking for polished resort accommodations, this probably isn’t the right fit. But if you enjoy quiet mornings, star-filled skies, the sound of the ocean, and the feeling of having your own little corner of the woods, we think you’ll love it.

The perfect mix of camp and glamp with privacy, peace and serenity. This is a great spot for a couple, friends or young family to enjoy the outdoors together. With animals on the farm, trails on the property, location close to Amherst and attentive hosts, you can't get much better than this! Bring some sunscreen, bugspray and smore stuff for the ultimate unwind and relaxing time. This was a beautiful solo and safe getaway if you just want some time to yourself. I will definitely be back if I ever need some time alone to journal and read. Thanks again!

We had such a fantastic stay at this off-grid cabin. The hosts were warm and welcoming, and the cabin was thoughtfully stocked with everything we needed. It was spotless, cozy, and perfectly tucked away in the trees for a peaceful getaway. Absolutely loved our stay! The camp had all the basic necessities for off grid, with perfect layout and warm decor. The land and trails were so fun to explore. Snowshoeing and winter bonfire were great - peaceful nature retreat at its best. Dawn and Terry were very much great hosts, with directions and explanations at the start, even lending us a sled for our unrequired heavy packs, as well as letting us know to reach out anytime if anything more needed. No need for that, the cabin already had all we needed for a weekend stay, along with special touches. The games and puzzles were a great addition too! Thanks so much for sharing your piece of paradise!!

We had a great two night stay at the Owl's Nest cabin. Helmut answered all of our questions before we left and transported us to the cabin to show us around the cabin and property. Cabin is secluded and off-grid. Our dog was not a fan of the steep stairs to the loft. Don't forget to bring your orange vest and remember to check for ticks. Highly recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway.

We surprised my parents with a stay at Bootsie Back 40 Cabin for their 40th anniversary, and it was absolutely perfect! The hosts went above and beyond with every detail. The cabin itself is so cozy and welcoming, surrounded by stunning fall colors that made the whole experience magical.
My parents loved the peace and quiet — they spent their mornings sipping tea while listening to the birds sing. The hosts were wonderfully friendly and even took photos of my parents for me, which was such a thoughtful touch. They also got to visit the farm animals (including two emus!), which they absolutely adored.
Thank you for helping me give my parents such a memorable and heartfelt experience. This will be a trip they’ll cherish forever!

Besides being the cabin weve ever been to, this cabin is perfect to get away from it all. We really felt recharged and rested and able to reconnect with nature. We saw plenty of different birds, including a flock of Cedar Waxwings and Woodpeckers. The wild blackberries also make for a delicious treat while exploring the surroundings. The atmosphere inside the cabin, during day or night, compares to no other. It is a pleasure for the senses and its solid wood structure has hints Alpine Forest wilderness.
You can not go wrong booking the owl's nest.
