The historic barns, deep swimming pond, sugar house, and stunning woods with trails that have 2 disc golf baskets all provide ample space, entertainment and privacy for a quiet and relaxing retreat.

Come join us at the Gaylin Farms – home to four friendly goats, Newfoundland ponies, Chanticler chickens, two dogs and a cat. Stay at our completely private cabin (sleeps 3 comfortably, sleeping mats/air mattresses NOT provided) isolated within the centre of a gorgeous 25-acre forest with a private groomed c. 1.5 km walking/biking trail. The cabin is a 5-minute walk from the Trans Canada RailTrail which grants easy access for longer bike rides, runs, hikes, and four-wheeler adventures. You’ll walk through a horse pasture and a cow pasture on your way to the cabin. There is a large farm pond (10ft deep) on the property for swimming. Enjoy access to locally-sourced food, firewood (at a small fee), drinking water, a private firepit, small wood stove and our old-fashioned wood-fired cook stove. There is no electricity or running water (but we provide ample drinking water) and there can be access to a charger box so you may charge your devices or have a light at night. Bring your pets and enjoy a private retreat. The max capacity of the cabin is three people. An outhouse with double-duty bag and second luggable loo are available for all guests. Minimum stay: 2 nights.
NEW ADDITION: A new room, a small annex, has been constructed to allow for downstairs sleeping and writing area. It is fully insulated with a wood stove so this area may be used year round. The annex gives one a deeper feeling of being a part of the woods.

We had a great two night stay at the Owl's Nest cabin. Helmut answered all of our questions before we left and transported us to the cabin to show us around the cabin and property. Cabin is secluded and off-grid. Our dog was not a fan of the steep stairs to the loft. Don't forget to bring your orange vest and remember to check for ticks. Highly recommend for those looking for a quiet getaway.

We absolutely loved our stay at Owl’s Nest! Helmut treated you like family, sharing his experiences tending the forest and the cabin that he built. If you’re looking for a place to get off-grid, connect with nature, and be able to explore the many trails just outside your door, this is the place! We especially appreciated how the land was private, so that we could let our pup explore without worrying about running into any other dog owners. It was a great to share this cabin and we will certainly be coming back!

We arrived with our trailer which is self contained late in the season and Manuel's place welcomed us with friendly hospitality . We stayed one night and the weather was rainy so we did not have a chance to hike the property but the welcome was warm and friendly.

Helmut was so nice, and his cabin was exceptional. We were nested into the forrest, cut from the rest of the world. The cabin has everything you need, including a pump and head shower, perfect for a quick wash. I would definitely recommend!

Weekend Trip to Beach and Forest
Besides being the cabin weve ever been to, this cabin is perfect to get away from it all. We really felt recharged and rested and able to reconnect with nature. We saw plenty of different birds, including a flock of Cedar Waxwings and Woodpeckers. The wild blackberries also make for a delicious treat while exploring the surroundings. The atmosphere inside the cabin, during day or night, compares to no other. It is a pleasure for the senses and its solid wood structure has hints Alpine Forest wilderness.
You can not go wrong booking the owl's nest.

Just wow!!! The hosts are beyond awesome. They have worked very hard to create a unique and awesome space to camp/ relax and they have certainly achieved it. The setting is pure magic and they couldnt be more welcoming, everything you need is there for easy and fun camping. With incredible swimming, mountain biking, hiking, and Bay of Fundy near by its a wonder this place isn't reserved months out in advance. Do your self a favor and go visit this beautiful campsite in a pristine valley. We stumbled across it on our way home from a trip up north, now we have a new favorite spot, we will for sure be back. It truly is about as good as it gets for camping!!

NS provincial park fire ban. Way to ruin camping… off grid ftw. Great, amazingly nice hardworking people, both Mike and Salma. Chantal the horse trainer is amazing with kids and even taught me not to pick at how well a chore is done, rather that it is done at all.
Kids loved the cave, and rock climbing. I’d have to say the zip line was both of their highlight at the park. 🥳

Wow, literally speechless! If you are looking a whimsical fairytale location with the nicest hosts ever, look no further. John and MJ were incredibly kind and so passionate about their charming wildflower farm as well as the history and preservation of their beautiful land. The site isn’t too far from the main road, but it felt so private and secluded. I was encouraged to explore the property using the many trails they have and I even went for a little swim in the stream hidden by trees behind the site. The actual site was magnificent, and it was evident how much time and care goes into making sure the area is not only clean, but inviting with little wildflower arrangements and fairy lights. In the evening I was able to listen to the many birds, take in a breathtaking sunset, and look at all the fireflies. Not to mention how clear the stars were at night!! Thank you John and MJ for a wonderful stay!!
