The sunset is excellent and the stars at night are breathtaking. You'll feel completely removed from the hustle and bustle of the city. Hip, hip, hooray! "Between the Flags Camp 'n Cabins" is now open to nice folks. Located a short 5 minute drive from the tourist town of Gimli, we've got 120 acres of forest. It's secluded and quite quiet with several kilometers of mowed, signed, and mapped trails, a pond with a floating dock and seating area, a common area with outdoor games, a fire pit, and a small stage for campers/renters to interact. There are 2 tiny houses available for rent: 1.) Micro Cabin in the Secluded Forest 2.) The Blue Owl Tiny House Experience. 3.) There are 3 non-serviced, clearly signed as RV#1, RV#2 and RV#3. These are back-in RV sites to accommodate travel trailers, fifth wheel campers, Class A, Class B, Class C RVs. All styles are welcome. 4.) Tent sites are available with parking for one vehicle. Both cabins, each RV and tent sites all have a picnic table and firepit. We have 4 traditional outhouses, a septic holding tank and a black-water tote for your convenience. Garbage and recycling receptacles are placed conveniently. We've set up a couple of challenging Scavenger Hunts along the trails. Printed checklists and pencils are in the book box located at the common games area near the stage. Berry picking Saskatoons, Cranberries, Chokecherries and Loganberries are abundant while in season. There are plenty of wildflowers and an opportunity to see wildlife in it's natural setting. There have been many deer sightings and on occasion coyotes and bears have been in the area as well. The popular tourist town of Gimli is a short drive away, where you'll find shopping, restaurants, swimming, fishing, boating, farmer's markets and festivals. Gimli Motorsports Park is close by featuring auto and motorcycle racing.

This 45-acre property is the original farm homestead of the Kozak family. Since 1996, the land has been stewarded and enhanced by Cheryl Cohan and Noah Erenberg and is now home to Nature On! Matlock Biodiversity Retreat and Horticultural Therapy Centre. There are 3 different listings to choose from: Deluxe Wall Tent in Forest Meadow, Bunkie in Forest Meadow, and Tent Camping in Forest Meadow. We have something for everyone, no matter the type of camper that you are! The surrounding area includes the beautiful and quaint, resort village of Dunnottar bordering along with the property: Matlock main beach on Lake Winnipeg’s southwest shore is just a three-minute walk away as is the hiking trail that meanders northward through Whytewold, Ponemah and up to Winnipeg Beach. Dunnottar Sports Courts for tennis and basketball as well as Julia’s Restaurant are a short one block to the east; Matlock General Store is a ten-minute walk to the north; many more amenities and attractions are available to explore throughout the Interlake, with lots to see and do in nearby Winnipeg Beach, Gimli, Camp Morton, Riverton, Arborg, etc. The property has many trails throughout the forest and meadow that are walkable all year round. There is a porta-potty on the property centrally located near the accommodations. There is a water hose available with cold water only. There are no showers.

To get there you need to be in Manitoba, 2nd road east, of Hwy #229 (south side) 60 miles north of Winnipeg of Hwy #7 .The lane looks like your going down a bush trail (do not let this fool you). This site is on a ridge, surrounded with spruce trees, oaks. and poplars. You will find a fire pit, out door shower. out door kitchen, out house and access to a generator. There also is a extra camper if you do not want to sleep in a tent. A gazebo to get out of the rain and or to eat your meal away from flys And a fire pit with free wood

Great warm people. Property bit rough when you come in but hip camp field in the back was beautiful and separate from owners house. Lots if privacy. They came to check to see if we needed anything. They were wonderful. Bit loud with rosd noise at first but after 9pm quiet. One train came thru. But all in all lovely.

Weekend Trip to Forested Meadow at Beach Resort

I had a lovely time camping at Noah and Cheryl’s tent site! I came with little plans other than visiting the Oak Hammock Marsh, and Noah gave me many suggestions for local things to do. I enjoyed some time on the community beach and enjoy some food at the local restaurants. I felt like a local! I enjoyed my camp site under the stars with plenty of room to spare. I felt like I had a good distance and privacy from the other campers. Overall, Noah and Cheryl were very kind, I really enjoyed being at the site, and I will have to come back again with some friends. Thanks for having me!

We loved this lovely setting, by far our favorite camp site! Easy to find, great set -up with a fire pit loaded ready to go! The ability to camp in such a natural setting was certainly what we love. Hosts were very helpful and friendly. #1 by far.

Weekend Trip to Bonnetts Boreal Forrest

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Beautiful property and very private site in the forest. The open fields were amazing for a walk with our dog on the cut grass trails. The property is a quick ~ 30 minutes to Winnipeg. There is a railway line to the south which you can occasionally hear but didn’t bother us. The host was able to provide water from their well for our RV water tank on the way in. We will definitely return on our next trip in the area. Loved it!
