Hip, hip, hooray! "Between the Flags Camp 'n Cabins" is now open to nice folks. Located a short 5 minute drive from the tourist town of Gimli, we've got 120 acres of forest. It's secluded and quite quiet with several kilometers of mowed, signed, and mapped trails, a pond with a floating dock and seating area, a common area with outdoor games, a fire pit, and a small stage for campers/renters to interact. There are 2 tiny houses available for rent: 1.) Micro Cabin in the Secluded Forest 2.) The Blue Owl Tiny House Experience. 3.) There are 3 non-serviced, clearly signed as RV#1, RV#2 and RV#3. These are back-in RV sites to accommodate travel trailers, fifth wheel campers, Class A, Class B, Class C RVs. All styles are welcome. 4.) Tent sites are available with parking for one vehicle. Both cabins, each RV and tent sites all have a picnic table and firepit. We have 4 traditional outhouses, a septic holding tank and a black-water tote for your convenience. Garbage and recycling receptacles are placed conveniently. We've set up a couple of challenging Scavenger Hunts along the trails. Printed checklists and pencils are in the book box located at the common games area near the stage. Berry picking Saskatoons, Cranberries, Chokecherries and Loganberries are abundant while in season. There are plenty of wildflowers and an opportunity to see wildlife in it's natural setting. There have been many deer sightings and on occasion coyotes and bears have been in the area as well. The popular tourist town of Gimli is a short drive away, where you'll find shopping, restaurants, swimming, fishing, boating, farmer's markets and festivals. Gimli Motorsports Park is close by featuring auto and motorcycle racing.

We have been recycling this farm for years. It was owned previously by a couple who worked for a nursery and they planted many varieties of trees. Later it was part of a Manitoba pilot project for hi-bred poplar so there is a 14 acre poplar forest that was planted on a grid. It is a very unique place. We love it here and hope you do too! With 5 sites to choose from, you can select a very quiet and peaceful spot in the trees or field or choose to be closer to the house and barn with wifi signal, running water and flush toilets. While you’re here, you can go on nature walks, raid the garden, play yard games, enjoy a bonfire, and explore the woods. If interested, ask for a tour of the 3 season party hayloft with antiques, vintage video games, an old pool table, and a zip line. We have stationary and portable fire pits for your campsite. To get there you need to be in Manitoba, 2nd road east, of Hwy #229 (south side) 60 miles north of Winnipeg of Hwy #7 .The lane looks like your going down a bush trail (do not let this fool you). This site is on a ridge, surrounded with spruce trees, oaks. and poplars. You will find a fire pit, out door shower. out door kitchen, out house and access to a generator. There also is a extra camper if you do not want to sleep in a tent. A gazebo to get out of the rain and or to eat your meal away from flys And a fire pit with free wood

Great secluded spot with beach access. Was able to pull right up with our suburban and 17foot trailer with minimal effort, a larger trailer and truck may have some difficulty pulling right up to the prime window view, but wouldn't be a big deal to stay back a bit. Fire bowl had a wheelbarrow with wood ready to go and plenty of beach wood around to collect with permission. Sunrise was insanely beautiful. Only thing we would change is staying longer!

We really enjoyed our night out on Nelson’s land! The directions were great on the Hipcamp website, plus we had a host that left us alone to enjoy nature the private beachfront. Would definitely recommend it.

What a beautiful location on the lake. Perfect tent site that you can spread out a bit as there several pockets areas to pitch a tent or a small overland set up. Nelson returned all my texts in a timely manner and offers a fire pit and wood when there are no fire bans. Highly recommended!

Cindy is an A+ host. Extremely responsive and very accommodating. The property is beautiful. I had a 30ft RV and had everything I needed (water, electricity and dump). Had a great one night stay and would gladly stay again. There are two dogs on the property and Cindy made the effort to introduce myself and family to the more “excited” dog so it could be aware of our presence. Otherwise we did not see the dog during our stay.
