Come camp on a 40-acre parcel backing onto crown land mountains and wake up in front of 10 acres of vineyard and a view of Okanagan Lake! There is a small cabin and two camp sites to choose from. Site 1 is best suited for tents and small campervans, less than 18' or so (though people with small trailers like tear drop campers have been fine). Site 2 has a much larger flat area that can hold RVs up to 30'. Cabin available for those that want to sleep in a cozy bed and have a warm fire :) Outhouse on the property, which is just a pit toilet. It is a working farm so will likely have various equipment around at times as well as workers at certain times of the year. You’ll likely meet our very friendly and very energetic Bernedoodle, Bernie. If you prefer to keep him out of your campsite just let us know and we can keep him closer. Otherwise, he thinks he has the run of the place! Please check to see if campfires are allowed (live in a high-risk fire zone) and firewood is available with an extra charge. If you need anything to better enjoy your stay, just let us know! Our property is located in Peachland, BC. Positioned midway between Kelowna and Pentiction, it is the perfect location to draw from both population centres and is well-positioned to act as a hub for popular wine and other agri-tourism activities. The skinny taps in the washrooms do have filtered water There is potable water for washing dishes ( warm and cold) at the taps on the outside of the shop - near the entrance door for the washrooms. We live on the property as well, up on the hill. We want everyone to have a wonderful experience but do also want you to have your privacy. We have a 6 acre farm in the hills of Joe Rich. It’s a beautiful combination of open meadow and mature forest, with a seasonal creek and pond. The property is full of many varieties of native plants, flowers and trees. Above the trees you can see the peaks of Little White. We also get wild animals that come to visit every now and then; bear, cougar, lynx, coyote, deer and owl to name a few. There is a communal firepit and kitchen area, central between our current campsite and other future campsites. You can enjoy hiking on the High Rim Trail nearby or maybe an off road adventure. James Lake is only 11 kms away for some summer kayaking or paddle boarding and Big White is only 1/2 hour away hosting all the summer and winter fun!. Lots of beautiful areas to explore nearby. Welcome to a natural, convenient location with basic amenities on the West Kettle River! We have 300 acres including 1500 meters of river frontage with access to the surrounding crown land and KVR trail which runs through the property. We recommend arriving before dark so that you aren't complaining in a review how hard sites are to find at night, in the dark. Some sites may be overgrown generally a lawn mower is provided for your use. If you are looking for fully serviced campsites where the outhouse is closer than 250m, then you should just carry on! The KVR trail is the access to the property. From HWY 33 South, take the turn (West) onto Tuzo Main Road (about 7km's south of Beaverdell), then cross the wooden bridge over the Kettle River and take the first left onto the KVR trail (a long, straight flat gravel road) and follow for 1900meters. Mostly wide enough for one way traffic only, so please be patient and mindful of trail users on bikes, quads and vehicles. After driving down the KVR right of way about 1.2km, you will arrive at the farmhouse gates - there you will see a little sign for the campground on the tree, so keep going down the right away. Once you go another 600m or so, you will come to a homemade sign with an arrow pointing you left. Turn there and then make a quick right turn then follow the road. You will come to the large tree with a picnic table and two blue barrels marking site #10. Sites 1, 2, 3 ,4 are over at the river, the other RV sites 5, 6, 7, 8, can be any where around site 10 or in the loop. I can always bring the lawner mower over to cut the grass and weeds down just get a hold of me. We currently have 5 tent only sites on the river and 25 RV/Tent sites currently about 100m from the river. There are currently picnic tables with blue umbrellas for sites 1, 3, 4, 10. There is a small white table and chairs for site 2. RV's sites include sites #4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 - I can add many more RV sites. Just need to cut the grass/weeds. Fishing, hiking, exploring, bring your quads, dirt bikes. There's plenty of roads and trails ... Even a secret honey hole fishing spot not far away but that's hush hush only locals know about this gem. A camper told me recently he saw a massive fish (16+ inches), likely a rainbow in the Kettle.

We are located just 35 minutes from the beautiful beaches and vineyards of Osoyoos, 20 minutes from the beautiful Kettle River and 10 minutes from Mt Baldy Ski Hill. When guests are seeking to soak up nature and wildlife, you won't need to leave the property. The seventy-five-acres, include, pine and larch forests, wetlands and trembling aspen groves. Trails wind through the different areas allowing for photo opportunities. You are welcome to say hello to our horses, our chickens and our sweet golden retriever. We are happy to have canine guests; however, for the safety of our resident pets, we require prior approval. The property has many resident squirrels and chipmunks. Other wildlife, such as Whitetailed deer and moose pass through regularly. Occasionally a bobcat, lynx, bear or elk venture through.

Earplugs are provided for light sleepers. Unplug, unwind, and reconnect. The road may be dirt, but the journey is pure magic.

Camp 1 handled our Class B. I rented both sites and our friends were introduced into Hipcamping using site 2. Their trailer a small to medium size fit easily there with a drive through setup. The two camps are closer together for RVs but further apart of tents campers. The camp property is a very short drive on a large dirt road. It is located at a 600 foot elevation above town, we decided not to ride the bikes to town due one rider uses a three wheel bike which needs more space. The condition was OK but could be checked for trash we try to pickup what was there. It was great having access to water being that this was our fourth stop on this trip. Great to be in the country with a sea of grapes and lake in you front view. We did see and hear turkeys and other wild life. The gate needed to be opened and closed it could use a tune-up.

Nice grassy place, level and clean. The camps are well spaced and is definitely the best we have been to. We have a class B so we just rotated to suit our needs and we were setup. The posting does show the camp well. If you go to town on a Sunday get there before 3pm.

This is a special spot! So peaceful, and the perfect getaway. The kitchen was perfectly stocked, amazing coffee and a nice tea selection, and the snacks were such a treat!! The bed was quite comfortable, and we thoroughly appreciated the variety of pillows as we’ve got different firmness preferences. Early morning walks with the pup around the property while the sun rose was bliss :) We cannot wait to return!

A very peaceful spot at the top of the hill behind their horse (and goat) farm. In fact, two horses seemed to spend most of their time peacefully eating hay in their pasture beside us. As others mentioned, there were a number of species of birds flitting around in the trees. The sunsets behind Black Mountain were lovely. Note: it was very dry and dusty when we were there. I am not sure what the laneway up to the site and the camping site itself would be like in rainy weather.

We loved tenting at Back Forty Vineyards. The view waking up to rows of grapevines each morning was beautiful, and the amount of stars at night around the fire was incredible. We stayed in Site 2 which is down in a small hollow, which was nice for privacy. Site 1 is not too far away but its up on a bit of a hill so it does still feel private. There's an outhouse not far from the site, and a water tap between the 2 campsites which is convenient. There's nowhere to shower so prepare accordingly. Daryn offers firewood for sale by the full or half wheelbarrow, which are decently priced. Daryn was a great host. He sent a welcome message before our arrival with all the necessary instructions, and any questions I had he was very responsive to. And I can't forget to mention Bernie, the farm dog who watches over the vineyard. He's a friendly boy and likes to check in on his campers. All in all I would definitely recommend camping here to anyone looking for an alternative experience to the typical cramped campground style. It's not every day you get to wake up, drink a coffee and eat breakfast in a vineyard. I'm sure we'll be back again soon!

Daniel and his father are exceptional hosts, ensuring a wonderful stay. The campsite boasts a stunning mountain-ringed location and offers all the essential amenities, including clean wash basins, a versatile water hose, and a spotless shower room. We arrived late, and his dad kindly assisted us with lighting for our tent setup. The site features ample parking, a powered electrical pole with multiple outlets, and a strong sense of security. It's an ideal, family-friendly spot in Osoyoos that I highly recommend and would gladly visit again.

Where to go

Okanagan Lake Provincial Park

With north and south campgrounds a couple of minutes apart from one another on Highway 97, Okanagan Lake Provincial Park offers panoramic views of the lake surrounded by mountain vistas. Explore the pebbly beaches and ponderosa pine forests, partaking in hiking, canoeing, swimming, and windsurfing. Keep those binoculars ready for spotting western meadowlarks, cedar waxwings, and even the vulnerable Lewis’s woodpecker. The north campground features picnic tables, fire rings, and pit toilets across three terraces overlooking the lake, while the south campground is more densely packed at lake level and not suitable for RV camping.

Sun-Oka Beach Provincial Park

The large, sandy public beach is the main draw here, including many permanent picnic tables on and near the beach and a playground. The name comes from a shortened version of “Sunny Okanagan.” In the summer, the park operator manages and runs a convenient concession stand, perfect for grabbing an ice-cold treat on a hot day at Okanagan Lake. Trout Creek features an easy out-and-back trail and fishing opportunities. Rainbow trout are the most common catch, but Kokanee salmon, brook trout, and Northern pikeminnow are there. Be sure to get a fishing license first. Gates are locked in the off-season from mid-October to mid-April.

Darke Lake Provincial Park

Drive about 30 minutes north of Summerland to Darke Lake where quiet, primitive campgrounds sit among mature Douglas fir and old-growth cottonwood. While the rustic, undesignated campsites are accessible by vehicle, they are not recommended for large RVs. Visitors must bring their own drinking water, as there is no potable water in the park. Trout fishing is allowed, including ice fishing in the winter, and the park is also open to hunting.

When to go

Summer is understandably the peak tourist season for camping near Summerland. Outdoor activities by Okanagan Lake draw large crowds, so reserving a campsite well in advance is a good idea. Summer also sees several festivals and events in the area, including music festivals. For cooler weather and fewer crowds, the shoulder seasons of spring and autumn deliver colorful scenery in the form of cherry blossoms and fall foliage, respectively. Fall harvest festivals are fun for the whole family, as well. Hipcampers willing to brave cold and snowy weather may enjoy snowshoeing and ice fishing in winter.
